The Pianist of Willseden Lane is Not to be Missed

by LPZoo on 8/14/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The Pianist of Willesden Lane, a one woman play, tells the story of the actor's mother, a pianist like herself, who was sent from Germany to London during the war. The play is novel in it's approach, extremely well done, engaging, and uplifting. A feel god story. It is now in it's 5th extension, but is closing Sept. 1. See it before it gets away!!

    Flawless

by qwiksilver on 8/14/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

One of the most memorable evenings in the theatre that I can remember. Moving story, flawlessly performed. Packed the emotional impact of Shindler's List with warmth, hope and celebration of human dignity and desire to survive -- to be better than the depths into which others often plunge us

The Pianist of Willesden Lane was wonderful!!

by lisaseg on 8/7/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I had no expectations upon arrival and was completely blown away by the performance and heart warming story. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place! Honestly I thought a piano playing actress may be a little strange, but the plot seemed interesting so we went for it. I really want to see it come to Bass Hall in Fort Worth. I think I could fill the place up!

    Amazing performance

by ROBAR on 7/28/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The Pianist of Willesden Lane was an amazing story with an outstanding performance by the daughter of the original Pianist from the story. The music is transformative and moving. Mona is an incredibly accomplished pianist who plays without a hitch. After the show, you can meet her for autographs in the lobby, if you desire. There are literally no bad seats in this theater and the acoustics are fantastic. She does start right on time, so if running late, you will be held in the lobby until the first section is completed. The audio in the lobby was not working at this performance. Parking at the Royal George is limited so it's a good idea to get to the area early. Valet is slow when waiting for your car after the play so it's better to find other parking, if waiting is an issue.
