THE BRILLIANT ORIGINAL RETURNS "MORE SPECTACULAR THAN EVER" - Sunday Express
The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson's brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, PHANTOM will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago December 11, 2025 - February 1, 2026.
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber's romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.

Spine chilling night--excellent new version of a classic. Not to be missed.
Phantom of the Opera was an amazing production with new staging. Lead singers are superb. Exceptional in every way.
Second time seeing the play. Truly amazing talent on stage. From the singing to dancing to the set. Amazing!
Really enjoyed the show! The theatre itself is stunningly beautiful. Purchased the suite service which left a little to be desired. Not enough seats or tables. standing at tables was a bit uncomfortable but still ok.
This is only my second experience in attending a professional theatrical performance. This play was wonderful and I would recommend seeing it to anyone. My girlfriend is a huge fan of the Phantom of the Opera (play, book, movie) so I purchased these tickets as a Christmas gift. I knew nothing about this play until we watched the movie a few weeks before going so I would have a better understanding. She loved it, and surprisingly, I really enjoyed it too. It was exciting, the scenery was very good for such a detailed play. The actors were great in my opinion, but again, I am not very experienced in theater. The music was very good too, and the acoustics in this theater are great. Also, it is a very beautiful theater on the inside.
We saw the original Phantom over 20 years ago and loved it! This was every bit as memorable. The biggest difference was the set...it was very unique and creative! Took our daughters who have grown up hearing how much we loved the original. They have read the book, watched the DVD and play the music on the flute and piano. They loved every minute of it. They took a friend who then went home and convinced her parents to go. the understudy plyed the Phantom on Opening night in Chicago! He was so GOOD that we couldn't imagine the lead actor could have been any better!
This was my first time ever seeing The Phantom and I thought it was incredible! I would love to see it again!
I enjoyed the musical overall but I had higher expectations as a fan of theatre. Pros: I enjoyed the theatre and technical aspects of this. I usually find this easy to critique whenever I watch theatre. The second half blew the first half out of the water. I just wish that power stayed in the first half Cons: I didn't feel the chemistry between Christine and any other character which made me concerned. The first half wasn't as strong and powerful as the second half of the musical. Raul disappointed me the most since he lacked emotion and he had his back turned to me during moments when I needed to have the connection to the character.
The Opera was good; however The view was AWFUL in seat 108 because the attendee in Row M 108 had big hair and I could not see the entire stage.. This was quite a disappointment based on the ticket price....
I love this Musical Play I'll watch it again. the stage is full of surprises
My wife fell in love with the theater when she saw this for the first time in the 8th grade. Now I see why. The music, the story, the intrigue ... A great show for young and old alike. I can see myself seeing this show again when I am in NYC, London, et al. I don't think I have enough good to say about. I understand that this show had a few changes from the traditional Phantom as well. It was amazing. I hope to see the original version of it sometime too.
This is the most incredible production of POTA I have ever seen! The scenery, the choreography, the actors, the orchestra, the Phantom...it was all PHENOMENAL! You will fall in love with this musical, as the music speaks to you and digs deep into your emotions. Words cannot express how truly amazing this show was. It literally took my breath away. If you're questioning whether or not to see it, SEE THIS SHOW!!!!!! You'll regret it if you don't!!!! I wish I could go again, but unfortunately it's already left Chicago. I would show no hesitation in buying more tickets and going again.
The lack of a full mask on the phantom, thereby showing one half of his very handsome face, took away a lot from the dramatic effect, as did the palm trees in the background and the faux chandelier. Been awhile since I saw San Francisco production but somehow it seems scenes were added here which did no good for the play....
This is a show that you don't want to miss! !! Great show on all aspects!! Great singing, has action, romance and some laughs.
The female leads were wonderful. The Phantom was creepy (maybe that was appropriate.) I thought Rafe has a stronger voice, and perhaps he should play the Phantom. The new production overall is good. The couple scenes for comic relief were also done wonderfully.
Loved the show. Production was amazing. Great music.
Absolutely mesmerizing. Music is overwhelming. It brings tears to my eyes everytime!
Having seen the original production at the auditorium theatre in Chicago this one missed the mark. Gone was the grandeur and magic of the original production. If you haven't seen it before you will enjoy it. If you have seen it, you may be disappointed. I know my husband and I both were.
Phantom was excellent and we will go again when it is back in town. This was the 6th time that we have seen it so we have to take some time to get used to the revised presentation.
Everything, from the actors, to the orchestra, to the scenery and stage production, was absolutely incredible. The story was well told and the voices were amazing.
