THE OAK RIDGE BOYS IN CONCERT:
The Oak Ridge Boys' timeless country and gospel classics may date back to the World War II era, but the band is still a force to be reckoned with in the 21st century. Their showmanship is unstoppable -- whether they're playing oldies like "Elvira" or the smash-hit "Leaving Louisiana In the Broad Daylight," they always keep the energy high at their live shows with perfect harmonies and tight fingerpicking. It's been over 50 years since the Oak Ridge Boys first performed together, and their voices are still sharp as ever as they treat fans to their gospel-infused country tunes on the 2014 Boys Night Out tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Oak Ridge Boys' founding member Wally Fowler started the band in 1949, recruiting an existing group called the Calvary Quartet to perform with him as the Oak Ridge Quartet. As a nod to their country gospel roots, the quartet changed their name to the Oak Ridge Boys, and their career took off from there. The group has had several personnel changes over the course of their tenure, but that hasn't stopped them from producing hit after hit during their decade-spanning career. The Oak Ridge Boys have released 31 studio albums -- a number of which have reached gold certification or higher -- and over 30 Top 10 singles, an enormous feat for the world-renowned country quartet. With numerous Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM Awards under their belt, the Oak Ridge Boys are truly a one-of-a-kind act. After over 60 years of touring together, the group is set to delight fans once again with a string of highly anticipated shows.

by ksth on 8/6/09The Oak Ridge Boys Theatre - BransonExcellent show. I have been an Oak fan for a long time and have seen a lot of shows. You could tell the boys were in their own theatre, they were so relaxed. They always put on a good show, but this was one the best I have seen for a long time.

We had great seats so when Ticketmaster says, "Best Available", that's what they mean. I enjoyed the old songs much better than the new ones. In fact, they could have just sang old songs and I would have been happy. The band was also very good as was the sound system. THE BOYS ARE BACK!

I really liked thier new song (by the guy that wrote "Black and White") and will get their CD. Too bad it wasn't for sale. This may not be what you want to hear, but we're playing their music at my Moms memorial, non-traditional, but it's what she loved. Also, there was one "jerk" sitting in front of us, drunk, at least I hope it explains his obnoxious behavior..we finally moved. But in spite of that I would go again!

by GVBirder on 7/16/09Desert Diamond Casino - TucsonThe Oak Ridge boys and their supporting musicians were great, and they had plenty of songs that I hadn't heard them play before, along with some of their classics such as "Elvira." The audience "ate them up." My wife and I only had two complaints. For me, the problem was that they were too loud, and hurt my ears -- I should have remembered to bring ear plugs for my comfort. For my wife the problem was one of their lighting effects. They used remote-control effect projectors that projected different colors and moving patterns. During some songs, the projectors were pointed toward the audience, and the light was _extremely_ bright, and hurt my wife's eyes.

They had the time of their lives...we are all such fans. They were looking forward to this for so long and the reward was mighty. The concert did not disappoint and the only downside was no encore. (Can't get enough!)
