by Melmont on 8/15/11Ogunquit Playhouse - OgunquitRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I saw the Music Man at the Ogunquit Playhouse last week and is was awesome. Peter Scolari (the lead) was great but the Marion the Librarian was unbelievable! All the singing and dancing was exceptional, and all the other actors/singers were Broadway caliber. I was amazed at the talent and recommend you to see this show before it closes Saturday.

Wonderful singing, excellent orchestra, beautiful costumes and lots of energy... a super collection of attributes to create a sparkling performance. Our whole family enjoyed the production and walked out singing the tunes and reliving the funny moments. All of the actors, including the younger leads, did a great job delivering a consistently high-quality experience. Thank you to the entire company, director and production staff! Bravo!

This was my first time at the Ogunquit Playhouse and it was a real treat. I had always thought the Playhouse was an amateur affair. Boy, was I wrong. This is a first rate production with great singing and beautiful sets. Julia Burrows has such a beautiful voice and is perfect for the part of Marion Paroo. There was not a dull moment in the entire play. I am only sorry I could not stay long enough to see it a second time.

The play was wonderful, the music is still playing in my mind. The set change was quick and nearly unnoticeable. What a great cast. The children did a great job too. I just can't praise it enough. We loved it!

Great story line. PETER SCOLARI gave a great performance as well as JULIA BURROWS- what a voice. The Costumes were wonderful and plenty. The cast was complete with kids, dancing, and singing. We had a great night out without going to Broadway!

This was our first performance at the Ogunquit Playhouse. It was a very professional production, with no weak performers. Sets, costumes, orchestra were all first-rate. The theater and its staff were all friendly and efficient. All in all, a very enjoyable way to see a show.

  • Julia Burrows stole the show.

    by trig44 on 8/6/11Ogunquit Playhouse - OgunquitRating: 4 out of 5

What an amazing new talent in Julia Burrows! For me she was an absolute stand-out. Peter Scolari was disappointing in that he does not sing. Also, he looked like Julia's father not her love interest. The full cast was amazingly good. The Ogt Playhouse never disappoints.
