About

Moody Blues On Tour

The Moody Blues are '60s English rock band known for their progressive rock sound and their role in creating the "concept" album. The group originally started out as a rhythm and blues band, but with the release of their 1967 album Days of Future Passed, the band created a sound that was a mix of classical and rock music. Days of Future Passed is widely considered the first concept album and their fusion of rock and classical music was dubbed art rock or progressive rock. The Moody Blues released 12 more albums after Days of Future Passed until they took a break from recording between 1991 and 1998. During the break, they toured extensively all over the world performing on stage with a live orchestra. In 1999 they released Strange Times their first Top 20 album since 1983's The Present, and they followed that release with 2003's December. To date, The Moody Blues have sold over 70 million albums worldwide, and they've had 18 platinum and gold albums. About the Show The Moody Blues live shows are a bit like traveling back in time with some old friends you know well but haven't spoken to in awhile. The music is fun and familiar even if everyone is a bit grayer while enjoying it. The show will see their most successful album, Days of Future Past, played in its entirety and in sequential order for the first time on tour. Expect to hear many of their other hits as well, and with a discography spanning 50 years, they have many fan favorites to choose from. The band is fully aware of their "old guy" status being in their seventies and still touring, so expect to hear some self-deprecating jokes regarding their age and longevity in the business. Ultimately the band puts on a wonderful performance that will appease fans regardless of whether you've been a fan for 50 years or discovered the group in recent years.

    Fabulous!

by Ceeveeeeee on 9/30/18Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Have seen them before, and at first the sound wasn’t quite right. It must have been fixed, because the rest of the concert was great, the only negative is stupid people holding up their phones to record. Really annoying but I guess that’s the world we live in.

    Moody Blues

by Minnie56 on 9/25/18Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Disappointed that the drummer was not there. 1st half hardly played anything any of in our group knew.. The film clips and all this interlude music made it sound like a Disney nature movie..Didn't play any of their most best known until after "Their" Encore.. Sorry to say the lead singer couldn't hit a lot of the high notes. The Drummer was fantastic..,

Justin and John are wonderful. Great show. Really enjoyed hearing the whole Days of Future Passed record live. My band for 51 years. When they hang it up, it will be time for me to stop going to concerts.

50th anniversary of Days of Future Passed, which they played in its entirety. Plus other hits. Singing and plaing impeccable. Two female backup singers took the place of the Mellotron. This rates amongst the best ever.

Encore Theater sound system lacking, short show.

by HermanP on 9/22/18Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I have heard the Moody Blues for the 15th time. and the show at the Wynn Encore Theater was rather mediocre at no fault of their own. I am a musician and I know what makes a good show. The problem, I believe is with the sound man. It was a bad mix. Although Graham Edge was missing so there was only one drummer, the sound highlighted the snare drum, which was annoyingly piercing. And although there are two keyboard players that replicate orchestral tracks they were lacking in the mix except on occasion. I know what the band can sound like with a good sound technician the shows in Cleveland an the Nautica were beautiful. and I had just heard Justin's solo show at the Kent stage and that show was great. The sound system at Encore Theater was not up to the task and I am tiered of Casino venue's that limit the show's too 2 hours when making the band's cut songs out of their shows. I just saw Yes at a casino in Cleveland and the same thing they had to cut songs out of the show I am done with Casino shows, I would rather travel farther to catch the show the band wants to put on, not what the casino wants them to play.

    Incredible Last Night of Tour

by OkieDokieBoy on 2/17/18Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las Vegas

So pleased to have the chance to come to the last show of this wonderful 50th anniversary of Days of Future Passed tour. The Moodies provided a magical evening for all of us and at the end of the show Graeme, John, and Justin lingered together a really long time at the front center of the stage as the fans showed their appreciation. It was like they were saying how much they had enjoyed the evening and the tour. Now it's on to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

MOODY BLUES - BETTER THAN EVER!

by moodiesalways on 2/12/18Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las Vegas

From the deep shadows emerged a gathering and glowing blue mist. From the silence arose the wonderfully rhythmic sound of the ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME band—the MOODY BLUES! The magic begins— Off the charts! Five Stars does not give enough credit. The Moody Blues deserve more… Six Stars, Seven Stars and up! Their performance was the best I’ve seen. Justin’s voice was magnificent, other worldly, never wavering. His song—more spellbinding and haunting than ever. John, the ENTERTAINER EXTRAORDIARE, displayed all the prowess and enthusiasm of a youthful athlete. Norda was a delight, as were Julie and Graeme. All were in rare form and performing to star-filled heights. The energy-charged feeling was overwhelming; positive and so very uplifting…one could physically feel electricity surging and swirling. Every time I see the Moody Blues I am astounded. It’s like I am seeing them for the first time. They always leave me wanting more. I am already planning for their next performance. The Moody Blues still have “it” and always will. I know the best is yet to come.

The 50th Anniversay Tour was amazing. Almost otherworldly, as the music and background visuals made you feel that you were in the field of flowers. Will never forget the experience!

Waited fifty years for this concert

by MRGKG on 1/29/18The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I first saw the Moody Blues in 1969. It was in Will Rogers auditorium, Fort Worth Texas. In the years since I have lost track of the times I have seen them preform live. I never missed a chance to hear them play. Now, after fifty years, at last they have played their masterpiece, "Days of Future Passed", live for their fans of so many years. I have read other reviews that have not been kind to the Moody's. True, Justin Hayward does not have his voice of years ago, and Graham Edge needs a lot of help with his drumming. John Lodge is showing his years, and Ray Thomas has left us. They are still my favorite band of a lifetime. This may be our last chance to see the "veteran cosmic rockers" doing their musical magic. Recommended for Moody Blues fans children, and everyone else who wants to see a true class act. Thank you Moody Blues! Keep on rocken!

    "Days of Future Past" Tour

by SeventysGuy on 1/29/18BOK Center - Tulsa

The band did a GREAT job. Hayward and Lodge's voices were still strong and clear, and the other members of the band blended in very well. The concert was played in two parts: the first hour included most of their great hits; the second part of the concert consisted of the band playing the album straight through from start to finish. They finished with a great encore consisting of "Question" and "Ride My See Saw". The crowd really appreciated the quality of the music and the performance of the stars.

We have been to several concerts this past year with the performers being in theit 70s. All were outstanding. Moody Blues was not. Voices not good. Short show. No interaction with audience. Disappointing.

    This was an amazing time!

by prairiepines on 1/28/18BOK Center - Tulsa

The sound was off the charts amazing. I wasn't sure I'd be entertained the entire night since I thought I only knew a few of their most popular songs, but soon learned how entrenched their music is in my life and wonderful performance with great stage graphics. The sound of the band was tight, the audio was perfection, and to see these guys who are into their seventies perform and enjoy doing it was extremely inspiring for anyone of any age. Finding our seats and the staff at BOK were perfect. From the lyrics, I think this band was truly environmentalists or appreciative of enjoying nature in a non drugged out, stoned way (even if the fans were) before it became distorted with global warming and a political playing chip. Heads up to some of the older in the crowd who were very drunk and yelling or doing a version of Woodstock dancing....Woodstock is indeed over, and while I'm fine with you having a great time with a bit of adult beverage, getting plowed and waving your drink cup in front of other patrons behind you trying to enjoy the night, is crude and you looked...well...stupid. Not the effect you might have been going for, but next time dont think you need to be totally plowed and wasted, especially at your age, to enjoy music like this. You took this night for granted. Everyone else, don't hesitate to go see this band!

The vocals were super! Too much video, music without them after the half time break. No big screens to see them up close ,especially if you weren't up close.
