    Great first act, then downhill

by ATLminimalist on 11/21/17Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I had been looking forward to The Minimalists' show for a few months. The first act was nothing new, but helpful in reinforcing my desire to practice minimalism. The second act was the live recording of their podcast, which also included a sit-in by some "YouTube star" who added little to the overall experience. And audience members who got to ask questions wasted time with queries like, "Do you still get nervous about public speaking?" Overall, I just didn't get my money's worth (insert minimalism joke here).

    The Minimalists

by BHlee on 11/21/17Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I hate to do this review because I love The Minimalists and what they stand for. Unless you just have to see them in person then I could not recommend this show. They each told their story and we had about 5 questions from the audience that tended to drag on forever. The 4 letter words and the ridiculous laughter each time a 4 letter word was used was tiresome as well. Again - I like these guys but was disappointed with the show.

    Paying for their podcast

    by Nita2 on 11/20/17Sixth & I - Washington

A little disappointing that the opening 20 minutes was Ryan's oft-repeated story of how he got into minimalism, and that the rest of the evening was to be a live recording of their podcast. With how long the Minimalists have been around at this point, there should be some new stories/reflection. It was great having Cal Newport as a guest speaker with his input, but given we paid for material that we can listen to on the podcast subscription later felt like a money grab event.

    The Minimalists Minimized

    by LaMinimalista on 11/20/17Sixth & I - Washington

Joshua Fields Millburn was not there due to illness, I believe they should have rescheduled because he is so vital to their talks.

    Just okay...

    by NuggetsofDC on 11/20/17Sixth & I - Washington

A lot of repeated info, long winded, bragging questions from the audience (no cares about your minimalism like that), and answers were very round about and loonnnngggg.

    I love these guys.

by TexFurthur on 11/15/17House of Blues Houston - Houston

The message of the Minimalists is simple, how to live better with less. Even if minimalism is not your cup of tea they can help you lead a better curated life. They are entertaining and really care about their fans. Most touching was their thoughtful response to a question asked by a 12 year old girl. Not only did the give her solid advice, they were respectful and not the least bit patronizing. I am not a self help book kind of person, but for a unique look at your life, I would catch these guys.

    A great way to reset.

by McKajed on 11/8/17House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

I came to this after my minimalist journey plateaued. This was definitely the reset I needed to continue down the path of intentional living. Thank you Josh, Ryan, Jessica and Podcast Shawn. I would highly recommend this event to anyone searching for more meaning with less.

    Great show!

by Anneonymous on 11/7/17House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

The Minimalists are great! They hold the same values as the day they became known. Venue is *usually* great, however, extremely uncomfortable fold up chairs. Also, the audience was able to ask questions and some of those guests just fangirled the whole time.

Love the Minimalists, but this event was mehhh ...

by CMDT3 on 9/25/17Gramercy Theatre - New York

The theater is so cute, not a bad seat in the house. I also like that there are 2 bars in the center for anyone who wants to grab a drink or snack during the show. Now on to The Minimalists...I enjoyed their documentary & listen to their podcast weekly, but this event is for people who aren't familiar with The Minimalists. I'm pretty sure I could've recited the first hour word for word...the fans know the story, a brief recap with some new material would've been nice. Sad to say that the highlight of my trip into the city was the Pho next door.

Funny and very informative. I’m really happy I went, they give you hope that you can do this and in your own way.

    Consume less. Have more.

Simple. Powerful. If you like their podcast, you have to see them live. Bring your friends!

    Less is more.

by 4576 on 6/29/17House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

Joshua and Ryan continue to spread the word about reducing impulsory consumption but they need to add new content to the message. I've seen them in person (Cleveland) three times and the content is good but somewhat scripted. Still love these guys but need to change it up a bit...my two cents.

Akwardly not funny, TedTalk was much better

by Livelove84 on 6/28/17House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

I watched the TedTalk and loved it. I was disappointment to come to the show to hear the same story with very little variation. I felt the show dragged on. The props screens or something making it more interactive could of helped, but the content itself was not filling.

    The Minimalists Rock

by dixonfamily on 6/27/17Bogart's - Cincinnati

We drove from Columbus to see them. They were coming to Columbus the next day but we already had other plans so we made the drive and I am thankful we did. I loved their show and content. I loved that they signed books afterwards. Overall amazing show

If you already know the story - skip it.

by despi88 on 6/25/17Egyptian Room at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Before attending this event I watched The Minimalists documentary on Netflix and have read many of their blog posts. I was hoping the event would be a chance to dig into the next steps - what happens after you get rid of all your stuff? How do you navigate our modern world with a desire to consume less? Etc. But, instead the majority of time was spent re-telling The Minimalists origin stories and all of the possible impact was lost. The stories are so canned at this point, there was little to connect to and little to learn. So disappointed!
