THE MAVERICKS IN CONCERT:
Hot on the heels of their celebrated 2013 reunion, the Mavericks are back on the road and ready to rock with their unique brand of neo-country. Featuring the danceable rhythms of Latin music and a hearty helping of brass instruments, the Mavericks don't put on your typical mid-tempo country show. Quite the contrary, these guys like to move, and they expect — and receive — the same from their fans. The Mavericks had audiences on their feet dancing at their 2013 tour dates, and their live shows in 2014 are sure to inspire more of the same.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Miami in 1989, the Mavericks spent their early days in the city's punk and alternative scene, sharing bills with the likes of Marilyn Manson while developing their uniquely Miami-influenced brand of modern country. Following two early albums, the band hit their stride in 1994 with What a Crying Shame, which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart and landed five singles on the country charts. 1996's Music for All Occasions would prove an even bigger success, scoring them a Top 20 country hit with "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down" and a Grammy Award for "Here Comes the Rain." Following the band's split in 2004, lead singer Raul Malo released six solo albums before their eight-year hiatus came to an end with the 2012 announcement of a reunion album and tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Another remarkable performance of the Mavericks....Such great energy and the entire band generates the energy. Raul sounds like an angel with his beautiful voice."
"They were fabulous as usual! Their love of playing together is so obvious- they are joyful and sooo much fun. What a treat!"
"...I was blown away. What energy...there wasn't a person sitting in their seat...we were ALL up dancing. They played EVERYTHING! Two encores!"
What a great time. They were a lot of fun The sound was great they brought a lot of energy
A great, high-energy performance by a talented band! I love everything about The Mavericks. They are top-notch musicians at the peak of their game, and Raul Malo's voice is simply perfection!
Energetic fun show! I love this band and they didn’t disappoint.
Great show. The Mavericks are always amazing. Standing the whole time wasn't my favorite, but the show was worth it.
The Mavericks are such a fabulous band. So much talent and an overall joy to see.
Excellent show! Simply the best live performance ever!!!
These guys are the best of the best, they are always giving 110% in every show and they perform to the audience, for the audience!
As always, The Mavericks gave their all for an evening rocking with all our favorites and some that were new to us. They always connect with audience and you feel that each one was done especially for you. They are the best.
Dance in The Moonlight, by the Mavericks, is one of my favorite songs. Fans were dancing in/at their seats, in the aisles, and down in from of the stage!! It’s always a fun night, from beginning to ending, with the Mavericks! Folks, just be careful sending all those “tequila shots” to the Band! 🤣🤣
Fabulous show. I would describe the show as two hours of tequila fueled joy. I’m not sure who had more fun between the band and the fans. Regardless, both “Danced the Night Away” in the Holy City.
The Mavericks Band was sensational!! They played for over 2 hours. I LOVE the way they always interact with their crazy audiences. Can't wait for them to come back to The Holy City!!
Second time at a Mavericks concert. Last one was about eight years ago. They sounded great just like the first time we saw them. Most of the audience were on their feet dancing for 80% of the songs. If you have never been to a Mavericks concert you are definitely missing out.
The Mavericks never disappoint! Their Saturday night show at the Charleston Music Hall was a party of epic proportions. Raul’s amazing vocals, Eddie’s epic guitar solos, Jerry’s fantastic keyboards and Paul’s rocking beat kept the joint hopping! Don’t forget about super-talented Lorenzo, Julio and Max jamming on the horns and Percy’s crazy accordion solos! My daughter Ava was dancing in the aisles! They are so fun to see in concert and super nice people, as well. The fantastic show made the long trip from Orlando so worthwhile. Ava thinks the world of you guys! See you later this year!
First, a shout out to the Charleston Music Hall event staff. They are most friendly and helpful! A rarity these days. Now the Mavericks.......I wasn't really prepared for just how good these guys are. I've been a fan for awhile but not what I would call a HARD CORE fan. I'm definitely approaching hard core territory now. The musicianship of these guys is phenomenal. And Raul Malo's voice hasn't lost anything. If you've never seen the Mavericks, do yourself a favor and GO!
I try to make the Mavericks concert every year. These guys are Fantastic and rock the house! Once again the Music Hall has presented a timeless performance for the ages! I can hardly wait until next year! Rock On!!
Venue had best sound that I've ever heard. The Mavericks sounded like they were playing a high end recording in a concert hall. No one left before the encore. The boys played for 2 straight hours without any time eating solos. The crowd was happy
Huge Problem: The bass was way too high overshadowing everything else. The booming went t through my head and the seats even shook at bit. I never get headaches, but left with my head throbbing until next day. It was the worst. I've been following The Mavericks since 1990 and love the concerts. The Charleston Music Hall sound st system stinks. They never sound bad until this concert and it wasn't the band, it was the sound system. They were performing in Charleston two nights. I went to the first night and the 2nd night I happened to be eating at a restaurant right behind the music hall. The bass was so loud my friend and I couldn't hear each other over the din from the music hall.
The sound is excellent at the Charleston Music Hall. The seats are comfortable. The staff is very helpful.
A great evening! Two hours of non-stop music. As expected Raul Malo's vocals were superb. The band is the complete package with top notch musicianship.....Guitars, Sax, Horns, Keyboard, Accordion, and Drums. They put it all out there for the audience. I hope they return again next year. I will be there.
A high-energy band that will have you dancing in the aisles. I love their renditions of our favorite classic hits but their original music is even better. If you are a fan, or even if you're not yet, I highly recommend seeing them live.
