The Marshall Tucker Band on Tour
Southern rock pioneers The Marshall Tucker Band have created legendary music like "Can't You See" and "Fire on the Mountain" since the '70s. While the members have changed over the years, the music that defined a generation remains the same. The rockers still energize stadiums with their iconic sound that combines rock, jazz, country, righteous guitar solos, and instrumental jam sessions. The Marshall Tucker Band hit the road in 2022 for a tour of the U.S. in celebration of 50 years of making great music. So whether you're a die-hard fan of five decades or just looking for an excellent Southern rock performance, be sure to grab tickets to see the band on their 50th Anniversary Tour. You won't be disappointed.
The Marshall Tucker Band Live in Concert
The '70s were a golden age for pop-rock music, and The Marshall Tucker Band led the charge as a new wave of Southern rock bands began to emerge. In 1972, guitarist Toy Caldwell and rhythm guitarist George McCorkle formed the six-piece in South Carolina and named the band after a blind piano tuner whose name they found inscribed on their rehearsal space key. The original lineup consisted of Caldwell, his brother Tommy Caldwell on bass, McCorkle, vocalist Doug Gray, Jerry Eubanks on flute and tenor sax, and Paul Riddle on drums. The group initially gained recognition on tour with The Allman Brothers Band and found continued success thanks to their classic Southern melodies that were perfect for radio. The group's self-titled debut album was released in March 1973 and included the hit single "Can't You See," peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Marshall Tucker Band took a brief break in 1980 after the death of bassist Tommy Caldwell, but the band was revived with a new lineup and began touring again in 1983. The group mostly stuck to their musical roots, but they did take some brief detours to explore other genres with 1998's all-blues album Face Down in the Blues and the 1999 spiritual album Gospel. Overall, The Marshall Tucker Band have released over 20 studio albums and dozens of live releases, which have collectively gone multi-platinum many times. The band remains active to this day, touring throughout the United States and celebrate their 50th anniversary on tour in 2022.

This was one bad concert and I don't mean in a good way, Waste of money
The music was enjoyable, the singing was sad!! Way too much incoherent talking in between songs.
The instrumental playing was awesome - especially the flutist. The sound system was not good for the main singers microphone - on both bands. The others were fine. I wish Mashall Tucker Band had played more of their songs. There was more instrumental solos than songs played.
I must say that was the worst concet I have ever been to. I have been going to concerts for over 30 years and that was the worst. The base guitar was drounding out everyone else in bouth bands. You could not even hear Mr Gray sing. I think everyone should get their money back
MTB played too few songs and played the ones they chose for too long.....too many riffs by everyone! Also too loud for the showroom. The warm up band, Road 88, was fabulous. Really country rock.
I was disappointed they only played 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Was amazing one of the best concerts Ive ever been too. LOVE THEM
I don't care what people say about the singer, the dam show was good. Yea the singer was a little disappointing but what is he supposed to do? Quit? He's the only one left from the original group. Besides, the other bandmembers did a lot of singing too, and they were fantastic. And their playing was incredible. Sounded just like they did in the '70s. Only played for an hour and a half though. But still worth goin to see.
The venue is a smaller room maybe 1200 -1500 seats. All chairs had a good view. The band started with a tribute to Charlie Daniels Band's keyboardist who died in a crash last week "Midnight Promises". The wind instrument musician can play anything and did, flute clarinet, sax trumpet and keyboards. All wonderful musicians and very friendly and gracious to the fans. We got seated next to the drummer and one of the guitarist at dinner after the show then later met the bassist and another guitarist in the lobby. All the guys were open to talking and pictures and seemed very comfortable around fans
Show sounded great and the band was very personable!
This was a great, great concert!! Through all the changes in members over the years, the Marshall Tucker Band has gone to great lengths to make sure to maintain the sound and integrity of the original band. The songs sound just as amazing now as they did when I saw them in the last 70s. I was very impressed! It is a wonderful testament to them that they had fans there in their 50s and 60s sitting right beside fans in their 20s and 30s. They have always and continue still to be amazing entertainers. I would certainly see them again.
if you are a Marshall Tucker fan, please don't let them ruin your memories. With Doug Gray the only existing member, the experience I's terrible. While the band members are talented, with great voices that would carry any of the songs, Doug must feel the need to participate. He ruins the night, his voice has been gone for decades.
Those good 'ole boys were even better. It was an awesome and amazing show. They are so talented.
Great to finally see these guys. Would have loved to have heard "in my own way".
show was great but way to short. they where in my eyes just starting to jam and than [ can t you see] you know that's the beginning of the end. What happened? Still in all they sounded great!!!!!!
the band is spot on. the sound & venue were both nice. the lead singer Doug Gray can not carry tune any more. Let someone else sing besides the audience.
Not the longest set I've ever seen them play, in fact one of the shortest. But short or long, these boys deliver. Doug Gray's voice may crack a bit from time to time after all these years, but the boys in the band share vocals and as Doug said during the show they don't take a back seat to him or anyone else.
My daughters and I looked forward every year to the outdoor concert at Innsbrook in Richmond Virginia. Now in the Dallas area I miss you guys every fall. Please book a date here. The Gexa Pavillion Center is a great place to come. We love you here!!!
All the musicians were great and we enjoyed it for the most part. I have to agree the lead singer talked way to much in between songs. His mike was didn't sound right and it was hard to hear what he was saying. Would have rather heard more songs for the time he took up talking. Would have liked them play Long Hard Ride. No encore.
Left after 3 songs, we werent the only ones leaving! Terrible Show!
