The Marshall Tucker Band on Tour
Southern rock pioneers The Marshall Tucker Band have created legendary music like "Can't You See" and "Fire on the Mountain" since the '70s. While the members have changed over the years, the music that defined a generation remains the same. The rockers still energize stadiums with their iconic sound that combines rock, jazz, country, righteous guitar solos, and instrumental jam sessions. The Marshall Tucker Band hit the road in 2022 for a tour of the U.S. in celebration of 50 years of making great music. So whether you're a die-hard fan of five decades or just looking for an excellent Southern rock performance, be sure to grab tickets to see the band on their 50th Anniversary Tour. You won't be disappointed.
The Marshall Tucker Band Live in Concert
The '70s were a golden age for pop-rock music, and The Marshall Tucker Band led the charge as a new wave of Southern rock bands began to emerge. In 1972, guitarist Toy Caldwell and rhythm guitarist George McCorkle formed the six-piece in South Carolina and named the band after a blind piano tuner whose name they found inscribed on their rehearsal space key. The original lineup consisted of Caldwell, his brother Tommy Caldwell on bass, McCorkle, vocalist Doug Gray, Jerry Eubanks on flute and tenor sax, and Paul Riddle on drums. The group initially gained recognition on tour with The Allman Brothers Band and found continued success thanks to their classic Southern melodies that were perfect for radio. The group's self-titled debut album was released in March 1973 and included the hit single "Can't You See," peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Marshall Tucker Band took a brief break in 1980 after the death of bassist Tommy Caldwell, but the band was revived with a new lineup and began touring again in 1983. The group mostly stuck to their musical roots, but they did take some brief detours to explore other genres with 1998's all-blues album Face Down in the Blues and the 1999 spiritual album Gospel. Overall, The Marshall Tucker Band have released over 20 studio albums and dozens of live releases, which have collectively gone multi-platinum many times. The band remains active to this day, touring throughout the United States and celebrate their 50th anniversary on tour in 2022.

Marshall Tucker Band................
by BunzT on 7/29/13Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 5 out of 5Saw them 1st in 75 when they opened the Superdome in NO. Along with The Allman Brothers and Wet Willie. The concert Friday nite was awesome. Sure miss the Caldwell Brothers and other originals but Doug Gray has assembled a cast of very talented musicians. I go to a lot of concerts and this one entertained me and my wife to the highest level.
Marshall Tucker was awsome
by Braleche on 7/29/13Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 4 out of 5Wished they would of played more of the music from the past, what they did play brought back alot of old memories. Loved the concert though!! The Margaritiville Casino is AWSOME !!!!! love love love it although we were hit with over $40. in taxes which I thought were kind of crazy! after paying $260. for 1 night we ended up paying $300. for the room. FYI the Margaritiville in Penscola is the best experience you could ever have right on the ocean :-) dont get no better than that and the rooms were like $30. a night cheaper. All the staff in Penscola were way more friendlier than in LA!!
Marshall Tucker
by Delphinidae on 7/29/13Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 4 out of 5The guys played all the hits. As a fan from when the music was new, we are all getting older and have lost a step or two, but it is still good to see the guys out playing there music.
Tucker worth it, if you think of them as tribute
by BluesweTrust on 7/26/13Margarita vile - Bossier cityRating: 4 out of 5Read a Lott of reviews before deciding to go tonight. If you think a singer at 65 should be the same as 25 then don't go. However, the band is still extremely talented and if you go for a glimpse of what Southern Rock once was, by all means you will enjoy as I did. Songs included : This Old Cowboy, Take the Highway, Midnight Promises, Heard it in a Love Song, Can't You See, Blue Ridge Mountain Home. No one can replace Toy Caldwell, that said, they did a nice job on it and yes like many reviews, the crowd sang with the song. 2hours long, Blue Ridge Mountain Home 12+ minutes and awesome.
Marshall Tucker
by Green90 on 3/24/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5The Paramount is an awesome venue but, there was no intro to any of the warm up bands so I wasn't sure what was going on. The sound was way to loud, I was seated right behind the sound booth and I found that the singers words were all slurred and I was unable to hear the words of the songs they were singing.

I've been following the band since the early 70's. I know most of the words to their songs. The words that I don't know I'm willing to learn. Do you guys want a new lead singer? I promise not to over-indulge in any partying prior to the shows. The rest of the band was awesome.
Washed up!
by AndyCapo on 3/20/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 2 out of 5Although musically the band was great, Toy Caldwell has lost his voice. He is constantly behind the music with his frasing, and he forgot a lot of his lyrics. As a vocalist I was embarassed for him. Very sad to see. The songs that other members of the band sang were great.
MTB Much Better than Expected - A Very Fun Show
by Stevay2005 on 3/20/13Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5I saw MTB for free at the Raritan Bay Seafood Festival in 9/2006. Although they played a really short set then, it was only two years after Doug Gray's throat surgery and he was sounding great. Seeing them again 5.5 years later was even better. The harmonizing guitars and the steel slide were excellent. The flutist also played a wailing sax and his voice was just as good as Doug's when all those MTB songs were recorded in the studio. They played everything I wanted to hear, for >2hours which was an honorable performance when so many bands (example, a band that rhymes with ZZ Flop) play way too short a show and charge way too much money. The instrumental jams were great. They really gave their fans more than we paid for and much more than this fan expected. I am a re-devoted fan and will see them as long as they continue to perform. 41 years and going very strong.
Marshall Tucker band
by JodiM on 3/20/13Penn's Peak - Jim ThorpeRating: 3 out of 5Opening band was good seemed to have great meaning behind their music. Promoted their music alot with Facebook and twitter. I liked very much that they had songs that seemed to be in support of anti bullying. The Marshall Tucker Band was good they just talked entirely way to much and should have played more music otherwise this would have been a five star show.
2 out of 3 aint bad
by bigmtnrider on 3/19/13Penn's Peak - Jim ThorpeRating: 3 out of 5This concert gets 3 stars because Penn's Peak is a great place to see a concert and the opening band Swampdawamp was excellent. MTB should lose the lead singer or hide him in the backround somewhere as he wrecks most of the songs when he sings. The rest of the musicians are very talented.
Dbagjones
by dbagjones on 3/19/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 1 out of 5This show sucked. What a rip off. Mtucker should pack it in
disappointment
by fwdr on 3/19/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 2 out of 5Doug Gray if you are reading this please accept the fact that you can no longer sing. I know you are last original member in the band and without you there is no Marshall Tucker but its time to move on. The music was very good and I made the most of the evening and I enjoyed all three bands but it broke my heart to listen to you try to sing your great songs.
- by Anonymous on 3/19/13Penn's Peak - Jim ThorpeRating: 2 out of 5
The band was fantastic, even though the lead singer appeared to have had one (or two) too many. The rest of the band covered well, but we were extremely annoyed.
Saddened
by BigMike66PA on 3/19/13Penn's Peak - Jim ThorpeRating: 2 out of 5Doug dragged every story out, like my 80 year old father in law does. He kept saying, "slow it down"... I went to rock, not fall asleep in my chair! The band did well, especially the new guy (keyboard, sax, flute), he was awsome! Basically felt bad for them (Doug)... it's not a comfortable feeling to watch the band while it's dying... better to go out on top!
Fantastic show!
by Cgordo on 3/18/13Penn's Peak - Jim ThorpeRating: 5 out of 5Swampdawamp rocked! Can't wait to hear more from them. Marshall tucker band was incredible! So much talent and you could tell they really enjoyed playing for the crowd!
