The Marshall Tucker Band on Tour

Southern rock pioneers The Marshall Tucker Band have created legendary music like "Can't You See" and "Fire on the Mountain" since the '70s. While the members have changed over the years, the music that defined a generation remains the same. The rockers still energize stadiums with their iconic sound that combines rock, jazz, country, righteous guitar solos, and instrumental jam sessions. The Marshall Tucker Band hit the road in 2022 for a tour of the U.S. in celebration of 50 years of making great music. So whether you're a die-hard fan of five decades or just looking for an excellent Southern rock performance, be sure to grab tickets to see the band on their 50th Anniversary Tour. You won't be disappointed.

The Marshall Tucker Band Live in Concert

The '70s were a golden age for pop-rock music, and The Marshall Tucker Band led the charge as a new wave of Southern rock bands began to emerge. In 1972, guitarist Toy Caldwell and rhythm guitarist George McCorkle formed the six-piece in South Carolina and named the band after a blind piano tuner whose name they found inscribed on their rehearsal space key. The original lineup consisted of Caldwell, his brother Tommy Caldwell on bass, McCorkle, vocalist Doug Gray, Jerry Eubanks on flute and tenor sax, and Paul Riddle on drums. The group initially gained recognition on tour with The Allman Brothers Band and found continued success thanks to their classic Southern melodies that were perfect for radio. The group's self-titled debut album was released in March 1973 and included the hit single "Can't You See," peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Marshall Tucker Band took a brief break in 1980 after the death of bassist Tommy Caldwell, but the band was revived with a new lineup and began touring again in 1983. The group mostly stuck to their musical roots, but they did take some brief detours to explore other genres with 1998's all-blues album Face Down in the Blues and the 1999 spiritual album Gospel. Overall, The Marshall Tucker Band have released over 20 studio albums and dozens of live releases, which have collectively gone multi-platinum many times. The band remains active to this day, touring throughout the United States and celebrate their 50th anniversary on tour in 2022.

  • Talented, cramped and never again

by Lola on 8/26/25Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast - Bay St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

The guys in MTB are extremely talented musicians and singers. With that said, a pre- concert sound check would have made their talents overwhelming. We are glad that they did tune their instruments on stage before they began the show. Guess it was part of the show. The microphones for the vocals were not clear, no matter where you were sitting. The Hollywood Casino, Bay St Louis is probably the problem. The seating is regular chairs (15"wide x 15"deep) hooked together. I'm a tiny person. The guy next to me is 300 lbs. He should have purchased 2 seats. So don't miss MTB and if you are claustrophobic don't attend a concert at the Hollywood Casino Bay St Louis.

  • Good music but disappointed

by Bill on 8/26/25Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast - Bay St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

The band was good but we came to see Doug. Understandable he is ill and needed the break people should given options. Without him the band is a tribute band. Don’t get me wrong the replacement sang his heart out but it still was not what we came to see

  • Great show, too short

by gawnfishin on 8/26/25Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast - Bay St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Very good but too short. Only 1hour and 20minutes. I would expect at least 2 hours.

  • Great performance!

by Sally on 8/26/25Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast - Bay St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great. Loved the music and performance. The only issue i had was the venue. The screens were set up with medal bars extending about 2 feet from the bottom with no guards. I tripped over it and nearly fell. Thank God I didn't. Safety measures should have been taken.

  • Good and not so good

by Randy on 8/25/25Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed listening to Marshall Tucker but they were only on for an hour and 20 minutes. That and no opening act just didn't make it worth my while. Not again.

  • Great Show!

by MaBelleSouth on 8/25/25Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 4 out of 5

Show started more than 15 minutes late. Concert was very good, but seating was way too tight. People were literally climbing over each other to get in and out of their rows. I get they were trying to cram as many seats as possible into the space, but I wonder if it was even Fire Safety compliant. I’ve been in that venue many times. It was never this tight.

  • exceeded expectations

by Bruce on 8/25/25Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 5 out of 5

fantastic show. group was on time and went through their sets. Musicianship and voices were fantastic. As is often the case, the live show was much better than studio sound. Marshall Tucker Band was great. A music mix of Western, Jazz and feeling like 1974 will live forever. Bravo!

  • Very good concert! Venue was smaller and very nice!

by Lisa Loopner on 8/25/25Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 4 out of 5

Band was basically a cover band. No original members. Played 1 1/2 hours, no encore.

  • Great band

by JAM on 8/25/25Margaritaville Resort Casino - Bossier CityRating: 5 out of 5

Really enjoyed the entire show !! Great seats , reasonably priced. The Marshall Tucker band played all of their greatest hits , These guys haven’t lost anything , they played with enthusiasm, and high energy. Best foot stompin , hand clapping , sing along music ever !! Best show I’ve seen in sometime !!

  • Good, but way too short

by Rocker on 8/22/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Great music, way too short, less than 90 minutes. Had more hits to play. Not worth the high cost of the tix. No more MTB for us.

  • Disappointment

by RickyD on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 1 out of 5

Disappointing, nothing more than a tribute band impersonating MTB

  • Really MTB

by Jim Brown on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I know personnel have changed but this group is the MTB sound and played all their favorites with a rousing Fire on the Mountain and Can't you See. Great concert in a good venue.

  • Loved it!

by Camille Naeger on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Marshall Tucker Band did not disappoint. Brought back lots of memories. Very talented musicians. The Factory is a great venue to enjoy all types of music. This is one band I didn’t get to see in my younger years, so I was glad to hear they were doing a show in our hometown!

  • Good show But

by BigG on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Band was tight and sounded great, but we felt a little cheated with no opening band.

  • Long Hard Ride

by JJ on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Only Average on vocals especially on This Old Cowboy. No encore was disappointing too.

  • We had a good time !

by Greg on 8/20/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was very nice. Way too expensive for drinks !!!!! Marshall Tucker was not that good ! I saw them in the 70’s and 80’s and there is only 1 original member of the band left. They are not the same band. I won’t spend the money to see them again ! They only played for 1 1/2 hours ! Very disappointed !

  • Good as the originals

by John boy on 6/24/25DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Saw MTB many times in 70s and 80s This current lineup does a great job of keeping this music alive ,great musicianship. To bad there are no original members left playing ,but it was great to hear all my favorite songs played as they should. They just need to add a fiddle on This old Cowboy and a few others. Enjoyed the show!!!!

  • Fantastic

  • A fair cover band

by Steve on 6/22/25DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 3 out of 5

A fair cover band for the Marshall Tucker Band. I've seen the original band back in the 70's five times.

  • little disappointed

by old fan on 6/22/25DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 3 out of 5

Found out late that Doug Marshall would not be playing with the band, and he is the only original member left, music was ok but some of the vocals were rough. Also this tour was suppose to have BTO playing with them and our show didn't this will be the last time I go see this band.
