  • A mixed bag

The big things you go to the show for (the incredible art, the puppets, and the big familiar numbers) were great--the production is truly beautiful. Unfortunately the cast's performances were really flat. The two actors playing Simba delivered flat performances and appeared to be phoning it in somewhat. I don't think our kids noticed, but we did. Overall, don't feel great about the price of the tickets considering--for that price you want to be wowed.

  • Over the top experience

    by Pro-life on 4/27/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

All theater staff were pleasantly helpful. Seats comfortable, sat Orchestra rows Y and Z. Center isle was barred, I would have liked it to be open. Normally active Grandsons sat with awe during whole performance. We all loved this place and this performance. We made a lifetime memory.

  • Best Broadway Show Ever!!

by Flowerbudmel on 4/23/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Go see it, it was an amazing experience to see this show live on stage. The actors were SO good, and so relatable to the movie. They looked like they really had a ton of fun being on stage doing something that they absolutely love. The music and dancing was amazing. The opening number gave me chills. I couldn't have asked to see a better play! Go see it today!!

  • Fantastic Show

by brendav on 4/23/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

From the scenery to the songs, the costumes, the excellent actors and the strength of their voices when singing, the musical met all of my expectations and beyond!

  • Best show ever!

Show was amazing! Funny and touching, the story was freshened up from the original movie. The way the actors move the animals so realistically is extraordinary. Definitely a must see!!

  • Not impressed

by Nico Dobre on 4/22/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Hi, I was so impressed the first time I attended a Broadway Show that I wanted to repeat the experience. The first time was The Phantom of the Opera and I had seats in the last raw so I was far away from the scene and didn't have a good view but though I was impressed and wished I could have seats in the front rows next time. This time I have got seats on row D. I could see EVERYTHING (I also paid three time more than the first time) but I was not so impressed as the first time. Maybe Lion King is not my type of show...I probably go for Anastasia or Aladdin the next time. That doesn't mean the actors didn't do a great job, they did.The show was funny and the costumes were sophisticated, though I didn't see the actors to connect with the audience...I didn't feel that sensation of "wow" I expected to say after the show, that adrenaline and the mood to talk about it and share with my friends the impression....and I definitely didn't like Simba's (the mature one) acting...it was fake. The only thing I liked was Timon, the idiot hyena (they were funny) and the male hyena dancers (they have nice bodies).

  • Simply incredible

  • Still the best show ever!

by MamaSolesUp on 4/22/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show has changed little over the years except for the actors and the quality and integrity of this show remains!! I have been 5 or 6 times and will continue to bring family members!!!!! Music, amazing, acting, not as good as previous performances but Sydnee Winters was amazing as Nahla. Singing, flawless and dancing on point. Overall, an enjoyable experience and thoroughly enjoyed by my brother and his wife who were visiting from Jamaica!

  • Phenomenal Performance!

    by Momof2 on 4/21/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

So much talent on one stage! I saw this show on Broadway 13 years ago and now that I have children I had to take them to see it. It gives me goosebumps every time! The costumes are amazing! I love how the actors/actresses come out into the crowd. The singing is on another level phenomenal!! The only bummer was “The Morning Report” song wasn’t included this time around. I love that one! Still incredible and would go back time and time again!!

  • Great show

by NB on 4/20/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

My 5 1/2 yr old granddaughter really enjoyed the show and the life lessons that she learned. She loved Simba and Nala. The only drawback was that they did not have enough cushioned booster seats so our grand daughter had to sit on a hard booster seat which was not very comfortable. This is a wonderful show for both kids and adults.

  • Awesome performance

by Dianna on 4/19/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Costumes, singing and choreography was all amazing!! I’m so glad I experienced a great Broadway show. It’s as my first trip to NYC. I recommend this show

  • Nice but a little disappointed

by Brandy on 4/17/19Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The costumes were still amazing and the acting was impressive. My disappointment came from the removal of some songs (morning report) and adding comments from the movie Frozen and other newer movies that were not part of the movie's history.

  • Great
