About

The Kooks in Concert

Formed in Brighton in 2004, The Kooks achieved mainstream commercial success almost immediately. Taking their name from the title of a David Bowie song, The Kooks signed to the Virgin Records label in 2005 and have not looked back since, enjoying Top 10 singles, No. 1 hit albums and a number of awards along the way.

Influenced by the music of artists such as The Police, The Strokes and The Rolling Stones, friends Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris, Max Rafferty and Paul Garred formed The Kooks while at Brighton Music College. Just a few months after forming, the band was offered a recording contract with Virgin. The resulting debut album, Inside In/Inside Out, was an immediate smash hit in 2006, reaching No. 2 in the UK album chart, achieving platinum status in both the UK and Ireland, and winning many fans in the US. In 2008, The Kooks returned with another hit album Konk, featuring the tracks “Shine On” and “Always Where I Need to Be.” The Kooks embarked on an extensive tour to help promote the album. The third album from The Kooks, Junk of the Heart, was released in late 2011.

The commercial success of The Kooks has been matched with critical plaudits from their peers and the music industry. The single “She Moves in Her Own Way” was nominated for a BRIT Award in 2007. In 2006, The Kooks were crowned Best UK and Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. That same year the band also picked up the UK Festival Award for Best Breakthrough Act. In addition to these wins, The Kooks have also been nominated on a number of occasions for both Q Awards and NME Awards.

  • The Kooks are Out!

by Nadiah on 6/12/25The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This is mg second time seeing my favorite band ever. I saw them last year, and I'm not sure which concert experience was better truthfully. Luke and the boys were high energy and the crowd was good! I do wish that they would play less songs from Inside In/Inside Out, and more songs from their other albums. About half the setlist was from Inside In. I feel like they've completely abandoned Let's Go Sunshine; I havent seen them perform songs from that album since 2019. They only played one song from Junk of the Heart and a handful from Listen and Never/Know. I don't think any songs from 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark were on the setlist. Which is strange since that album just dropped a year ago or so. Regardless, a very fun time! The merch this year was so much better than the last time. I got the hoodie in the size XL; it'll probably be too big but I prefer my hoodies a size or two up.

  • The Best Concert Of 2025!

by Chumii on 6/10/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan of The Kooks for years and it was such a surreal moment to see them live. They were absolutely incredible and they filled up the Tabernacle! It was a dream to hear them live and to experience them with my sister was all I could ask for. We showed up early and bought ourselves some merch and got to be at the very front of the stage! 10/10!!

  • Great show

by Chuck on 6/9/25The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I love The Kooks and was surprised by how much better they are live. All the band members are so talented, were working so hard, and brought amazing energy. Lovelytheband was a great opener. Could not have been a better show. The Ritz is still a cool spot, just the right size. The staff were all cool too. Glad I don’t drink though cuz $$$$!!!!

  • A Dream Come True with The Kooks & lovelytheband

by Kev on 6/9/25The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was a massively fun experience! Not only were the bands brilliant, the team at The Ritz continue to be outstanding. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly with me, the event was organized and clean. And a new note for me - I went into the Jupiter Lounge for the first time and really enjoyed the balcony view! All in all, it was a great night, speaking as someone who drives several hours to get to Raleigh and make the trip worth it.

  • Amazing show and great support band to boot!

Ritz is such a good venue, intimate and great sound. The warehouse vibe made it so fun to see the Kooks. They were awesome.

  • Great band, terrible lights

by Phil on 6/8/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Hi, I saw The Kooks at Anthem at the District Wharf in Washington DC.. Big crowd, at least 2,000, very enthusiastic. Kooks were good but the lights changing every two seconds and shining in our eyes really detracted. The Kooks are a simple band: some nice songs, Luke Pritchard's lovely voice, that's it. Let’s just hear the songs! The 'exciting' lighting unfortunately showed how choreographed the show was, as well as blinding us. Once I left my expensive seat to stand at the side it was much better. 'Naive' and 'Seaside' were brilliant.

  • Everything about that night was great.

by Alice on 6/7/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I’m already a fan of The Kooks and have seen them before but seeing them at the Anthem in DC on June 4th was out of this world. The vibes were high, the sound was phenomenal, and their artistry was on full display! The played a wide range of their catalog so no fan was left out. If I didn’t have to have a job I would just follow them around and see every show.

  • Nostalgia and newness, what an exciting show

    by Jennifer-Lynn Christie on 6/2/25MTELUS - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

A Night to Remember with The Kooks at MTelus, Montreal I am truly grateful for the unforgettable experience of seeing The Kooks live at MTelus in Montreal. Right from the moment I walked in, the venue struck the perfect balance: intimate enough to appreciate every nuance, yet bustling with genuinely excited fans. There was no sense of overcrowding, and that allowed each note, each sentiment, and every shared smile among the audience to be savored. One of the magic moments of the evening was hearing a song that hadn’t been played in many years. It was a heartfelt performance for his dad on the keyboard. What a gift to witness it. It also felt as if I were hearing every lyric for the very first time—each word resonating with a freshness that defied time. Between moments of soulful intensity and surprisingly agile dance moves, his passion lit up the room in a way that felt almost transcendental. It’s no secret that I have always had a deep love for British rock. That passion was reaffirmed and deepened and inspired me to run home and write a new song. The band’s sound—characterized by catchy riffs, clean guitar lines, and a subtly romantic undercurrent—was a living reminder of what I adore about the UK’s musical legacy. There’s a romantic sentiment woven into each song, and with the lead singer’s Pisces sensitivity, every gesture and note seemed to pulse with heartfelt love. The performance wasn’t just about nostalgia; it was about rediscovering old favorites through a renewed lens of authenticity and energy and welcoming new chapters, new songs. The atmosphere was as much a part of the performance as the music itself. The crowd, filled with fans of all ages, was united in their excitement. Each cheer, every sing-along, and even the moments of quiet reflection between songs enhanced the experience—reminding me why live music can be so powerful and communal. It was a night that reinforced both the genius of British rock and the timeless ability of music to connect us through love, memories, and shared intentions. Overall, the show was simply beautiful. It wasn’t merely a concert—it was a celebration of art, energy, and a deep, intimate romance with music. Whether you’re there for the latest hits or the rare, unforgettable gems, The Kooks deliver a performance that speaks directly to the heart. I left MTelus feeling enriched, inspired, and with a renewed appreciation for a band that dares to be both soulful and electrifying.

  • Love the Kooks!

by Romi on 6/2/25The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Kooks are criminally underrated. Been a fan since 2007. I saw them last year for their Inside In/ Inside Out your which was epic. I was so excited to see them again, got there early to be front/ middle and it was totally worth it. I will never skip a Kooks tour. Also, Lovely the Band was great as well. Don't skip them!
