  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd, need I say more!

by MindyLouAndDaveToo on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 3rd time we've been to a KWS concert and this venue was the best by far. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the best blues musicians alive. He respects the roots of the blues and plays homage to the blues musicians who came before him as well as the blues musicians that are still around today.

  • At a young 37 an "old soul" with an extreme gift.

Had not seen KWS in many years and was very pleased to see Chris Layton and Reese Wynans playing with. First saw KWS almost 20 years ago and have seen him a couple of times since. Noah always very strong on vocals and nice to see Kenny "Going Home" to visits his roots.

  • Kenny Wayne- Brilliant

Amazing guitarist, great show however I personally think Kenny should leave the singing to Noah. The venue was fantastic.

  • Kenny was awesome!!!

This was the first time that I have been able to see Kenny live, it was well worth the wait. I have followed kenny from the "Troule Is" LP. I loved the way Kenny started out Rockin heavy and then settled into more traditional blues numbers. Selections were not bad, but wished he would of played a few more numbers off the "The Place you're In" LP. I would rather hear him play more of his own blues numbers than other Blues musicians, he has plenty of great tunes he has written thru the years to stand on. Can't wait to see him again. Kenny, come back to Napa again.

  • Loud Kenny Wayne Shepherd

by RocklinGuy on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 2 out of 5

I had seen KWS before and enjoyed the show, but it was an outside venue. After this concert, I believe he should always play outdoors. The Napa Uptown Theatre was just too small to handle the volume of the KWS Band. I had to leave after about 30 minutes into the show, it was just too loud and the sound quality did not do justice to the music.

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd rocks!!

    by SuzyQ525 on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time I've seen the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, and I think they were even better than the first time I saw them. The musicianship of the band members is extraordinary, and Noah Hunt is an incredible vocalist. His voice is perfect for the rockin' blues this band plays. We were lucky enough to be in the front row, so it was easy to see Kenny's fingers shred the guitar. That boy can really play!!

  • Wow

Tight band with awesome talent. Loved the keyboard playing and of course KWS's guitar. KWS is amoung the elite players who combines precise playing with deep emotion.

Kenny Wayne is an amazing guitar player, Claptonesque! It was one of the best concerts that I have been too in the last ten years. A master of the Blues and R&R.

  • The very best blues you can possibly see live

    by Comedyfan99 on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Having seen many blues bands live over the years, this concert was by far the best show I have ever seen. Each band member is a star in the own right and Kenny Wayne Shepherd is brilliant. His guitar work is amazing and covers the whole spectrum of blues. FANTASTIC!

  • The best blues guitar player in the world

    by LetItBe5 on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen a lot of concerts, but Kenny Wayne Shepherd's reputation as an outstanding guitar player is well deserved. Multiple times during the show I caught myself thinking "I didn't know a guitar can do that!" The entire band is also extremely good, and every song was performed with a true passion. Worth every penny!

  • KWS Band Rocked

by careunit on 7/29/14Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one amazing guitarist. The band played rock and blues all night long. Too bad there wasn't a dance floor in the theater because everyone was moving with his sounds. Great vocals from the lead singer and the keyboardist was incredible. If you get a chance to see his band make it an event.

  • awesome!!!

Been a Kenny Wayne Shepard forever, this is the first time I've seen him live. The only thing bad I can say about this show is it wasn't long enough!

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd was a phenom as usual

    by Yeti1 on 7/28/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 5 out of 5

If you like powerful blues guitar you owe it to yourself to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd live, period. He played his staples from his albums and also mixed in a medley of blues classics and finished with Voodoo Chile for an encore.

  • Kenny Wayne Shephard was so awesome!

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Crew - Beyond Good

by desertrefugee on 7/27/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 5 out of 5

OK. I'm an old(er) rocker. I've been to, probably hundreds of shows over the years, beginning in the early '70s - although in recent years I've been more selective. I've been a fan of KWS since his early years and have a well-worn copy of "The Place You're In". But, I hadn't followed him in recent years and when I saw he was coming to "The Talking Stick", my first reaction was, "Oh, no." It seems that, while the talent the folks there bring in is generally top notch with big names, many of them are ... washed up old school rockers. I guess I thought KWS was still too much on top of his game to be playing such a small venue. Jimminy Cricket was I wrong. Pretty much showcasing his latest album "Goin' Home", Kenny and his able bandmates blew the roof off. I have been a longtime fan of good blues work and these boys delivered. The album is a blues album and he played many of those numbers. He "stuck" in Stevie Ray Vaughn's "If the House is a Rockin'" and astonished me by using Hendrix' "Voodoo Child" in the encore. Jimmy was smilin' Noah Hunt is as good a blues singer as playing the circuits today. Riley Osbourn's deserved reputation as a sought-after keyboardist was on full display. For me to say I thoroughly enjoyed my evening would be a vast understatement. That I was a few meters away from the action was icing on the cake.

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd was excellent
