They were good but the set list wasn’t

by Dude from Delray on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

The Fab Four and over 50 top ten hits The Fab faux didn’t play enough- too many obscure songs. Play the hits - know your audience!!

    Amateur Hours

by Mark B on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

Twentieth century’s Greatest music. That’s the good part. Mostly has-beens espousing former glories. Abysmal production. Best overall was The Weeklings. Cheap Trick was … we walked out third song. Fab Faux other than the bit with Max Weinberg was a total disappointment without Will Lee. Never again.

I was really looking froward to having a good time

by norman on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

I was very disappointed with the sound system for the main concerts. The instruments drowned out the vocals and it didn't seem like the sound engineer did anything to correct it despite several call outs to correct the sound. Fab Faux as always were excellent top notch musicians who were able to somewhat overcome the bad sound system. Cheap Trick was another story. I don't believe that Cheap Trick is a band which was contemporary with most of the audience. They recorded a few albums which were remakes of some Beatles albums which were pretty good. There is also a connection between a John Lennon recording session with members of Cheap Trick. Since this was a Beatles fest, I would have been happier to hear them dong Beatles music. Unfortunately, they played more of their own stuff which was more mediocre metal. Just one man's opinion. Parking was really jacked up for the event, but that's our world today. Peace and Love anyhow. The Beatles are one of the few groups which gets handed down from generation to generation and never sounds old.

    Thank you Danny and Keri!

by Holly on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

This was just so much fun, the whole town is beatlestown! I thought the 2 nights of entertainment were just so amazing! And a bonus of having Max Weinburg sit in, just WOW. Getting the Fab Faux to play was the ultimate coup and surpirsingly, I really enjoyed the Weaklings. Cheap Trick could have done their hits early on, that's the only negative was sitting through some hard rock unknown stuff that was not great. Otherwise, thank you to Danny and Keri for just a wonderful event. I go every year and will continue.

    Poor sound quality

by Bill on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

Possibly the worst concert I’ve ever heard. Either the sound quality of the venue was really poor or Cheap Trick was really bad, or both.

    Misguided Light show

by Mr. Rick on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

The lighting was amateurish. Consisted of shining white truck-like headlights into the audience eyes every 10 seconds.

Cheap Trick Delray / Beatles on the Beach

by Ed on 1/30/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

Sound mix was not very good and that put a damper on the evening for me. Thought it may improve but it didn’t happen and I know a couple people did leave due to the sound quality. Played their hits among other Beatle songs, started almost on time and played just about 90 minutes. I was in GA seating and the price was reasonable to see an act of their status. Overall I left feeling it was a bit disappointing.

    Didn’t Enjoy Cheap Trick

by Jeff on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

The venue was good…we sat in the GA section which was fine with people really anticipating Cheap Trick. Been going to Rock concerts for over 50 years …seen everyone from Zeppelin to The Who to Bon Jovi to Springsteen, etc, etc…Cheap Trick was terrible …didn’t they do a sound check ??…waaaaay over base.. vocals drowned out …guitar distorted..…no rapor with audience. …took an hour of a hour and 1/2 show to finally get the sound right..waste of my time and money…many people in the GA section left because the sound was so bad.. Saw Micky Dolenz last year at the same Beatles on The Beach event…that was a great show, sound and all….hopefully a better headliner next year

    iconic band of my time

by Terri on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

I love cheap trick and am honored to see them finally. The band was fabulous but the theatre for general admission lawn seats has very poor audio, so we snuck up to the front and then we had a fabulous time and can appreciate the music. They need to get better speaker system at the venue

    Very Disapointing

by cj on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

There were several good things about the Venue, but the most important things were not up to par. The music sounded terrible and I don't believe it was entirely the fault of the artists, but perhaps the accoustics. People starting leaving after the first two songs. Even the people who stood behind the fence and didn't pay to get in, were leaving. The parking was resonable $5., the crowd was controlled although very packed into the area. The seats were horrible, tiny plastic seats that we're crammed up against everybody. If you needed to get in your isle, everyone had to stand and move out first. Really poor on the part of the City for having to pay $180 for tickets. From my good section seats, no one could see the artists unless you stood up. Getting some of the Restaurants to participate in discounts was nice, although several wouldn't. I wouldn't try this again, it should have been a free concert and just charged the high prices for drinks and water.

There was nothing to do with the Beatles

by Nik on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

What a rip off! There was not one Beatles song! I would have given this 0 stars if it was available. Complete and utter misrepresentation

    Beatles on the Beach

by Sharon on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

We had Premium seats and attended the Friday evening event at the Old School Square. The ticket time was for 7 pm. We arrived at 6:30 and had no problem getting to our assigned seats. The group The Weeklings were finishing off their set. I was disappointed to learn that the headline group Cheap Trick was not starting until 8 pm, so we sat there for an hour waiting. The small plastic seats were zip tied together and very cramped for anyone who did not have a stick figure. Once Cheap Trick came on, everyone in the front was standing, so if you didn't stand the entire time, you only heard them play. You saw NOTHING. The poor people on lawn seats didn't have a chance to see anything. The band was great, and we enjoyed the music, but the overall experience was not great. I wont go to this event again. The seats were uncomfortable, and I could not see the group playing if I wanted to sit down. Very unfortunate, because the Old School Square at other times does put on really enjoyable events.

Audio poor, Lighting worse, Venue hokey

by Mr. Rick on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

Purchased lawn seats. From the time we arrived an army of venue chair movers patrolled the area. Constantly moving the chairs closer together on the border of OCD. To the point that the chair arms overlapped. The Audio was horrible. One mic didn’t work and had to be changed out to no avail. The sound was so muffled that you could barely distinguish the bass from the lead guitar. The stage was too low that everyone had to stand to partially see the band at all. The venue bathrooms have not seen a renovation since the 1980s and if walking thru piss is what you looking for then this is your place. It’s a shame because Cheap Trick is a great live band but this venue diminished the pleasure. A splendid time was NOT guaranteed for all!

    Disappointed

by Shaved on 1/29/24Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

The sound quality from the bands were extremely poor. Acoustics were poor. Don’t know if was the facility? Lack of speakers or the design of stage. Disappointing experience as a whole.

    Beatles Fest

by Al S on 12/25/22Old School Square Pavilion - Delray Beach

We loved every minute of it. Mickey Dolenz was by far the best treat in this Festival! And the 32-piece orchestra wasn't bad either. I look forward to next year's event.
