Fab Faux was just about technically perfect. They performed seamlessly and with ease. The music, by itself was excellent, and would have been enough. The video playing behind the musicians was a delightful enhancement. Kudos to the musicians, staff & organizers.
The show was excellent. It was a good venue . The weather was nice for an outdoor show .
Band was very good but the concert started an hour late. The warmup band was pretty bad and went on for over an hour. The tardy start ruined an otherwise pleasant concert.
Beatles on the Beach was wonderful, 5 days of joy. So many people of all ages and backgrounds came together to just listen and experience this great music. I loved the Weeklings and the Fab Faux. Their musical abilities are superb. I also enjoyed hearing the smaller bands at the Hyatt and along Pineapple Grove. And plenty of venues for food and drinks. Well organized! Can't wait for next year!
This is an incredible event and so many activities aside from their two main concerts. If you are a Beatles fan, this is a must see event.
Cheap trick rocked! Crowd went crazy! Beatles night not so much. Not the same excitement. When they did the songs we knew we all loved it but sometimes they did songs none of us had heard. Expected to hear more of the favorites and not songs nobody knows. Drummer was amazing though! I’ve been living with the Beatles my whole life. Grew up in the 70s and the 60s. Get the orchestra back! Love them!
Cheap Trick only played 2 Beatles songs which is not a fest. It would have been better if they would have found a band from the 60s.. Last year it's was Mickie Dolan and he was great! His songs and reminiscing about time with the Beatles was touching. Also, the advertising wasn't very good. All they did is promote CT. I wouldn't have bought a 2 day ticket if I knew CT was going to play their hair band music.
The Weeklings were the real surprise of the show. They were sharp, crisp, tight and had a great sound. We enjoyed them so much, Cheap Trick was very solid on Friday night also. The Fab Faux were a bit of a disappointment, I guess we expected perfection as the buildup was pretty big. All told, the Weeklings were far better in our humble opinion. The fact the Max Weinberg was there both nights was a real treat. The BotB program offered so much entertainment for the money. VIP tickets were well worth the cost.
The social media advertising was very persuasive, but there was a lot of "puffery"approaching false advertising. For example, having one band from Finland does not make it "International."It's really a two-day festival, not a five day festival, as advertised. Not actually within a mile of a beach. The program appeared thrown together last minute, with acts playing to "backing tracks."Very difficult to know who was playing where at what time. There was a lot of non-Beatle music, and it wasn't even "British Invasion"or solo Beatles. (C'mon, a KISS tribute?) Has a long way to go to be anything close to "International Beatleweek"in Liverpool or even "Abbey Road on the River"in Indiana. High points: The Weeklings, Spider Cherry.
