About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • The Fray - even better than the first time!

    by moose66 on 7/15/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

3 great acts! Saw the Fray last time they were in town and they rocked even more this time. Jack's was awesome -- I've been a long time fan of Andrew McMahon since back in his Something Corporate days. Never heard of Richard Swift, but he had a good, fun, summertime kind of sound.

  • The Fray was unforgettable!!!

The Fray was amazing!!! Sounded better live than on their cds! Would defenitely go again!

  • It was awesome!!

    by The09LXI on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best bands to watch live. They are just great! The singer is all about emotion and performance. Great pianist as well. His sense of music is universal and he uses all of his body to sing.

  • Jack's Mannequin and The Fray/Equally awesome!

    by Judyg12345 on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I went to see this concert mainly for Jack's Mannequin, but highly enjoyed The Fray as well. I think both groups were equally awesome!!

  • The Fray is Great!

by MsNikki on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray is a great band. They played a good mix of stuff from their first album and stuff from their new album. My only complaint - they didn't play Where the Story Ends, which is one of my favorite songs.

  • Fray was Fantastic!

    by Shrimd19 on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The pavilion was great and the weather was amazing too. It was a bit crowded towards the end but nothing drastic. It was an awesome show and we had great seats!

  • Went for the Opening Act - Jack's Mannequin!

by BreathlessWithLove on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

While I like The Fray quite a bit, when I found out that Jack's Mannequin was opening, I got tickets right away. And although I was in the last covered row, they both rocked the house and my sight lines were great. Andrew MacMahon is INCREDIBLE! If you get a chance to see Jack's Mannequin go see them!

  • GO SEE THIS CONCERT!!!!!!

    by Dawner91 on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray and Jack's Mannequin were absolutely amazing! I would totally go see it again! If this concert comes to your town, you would be missing out if you didn't go see it!!!!

  • great night of music

    by miche4572 on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray and Jack's Mannequin both can put on a show. They sounded great live. I just wish it weren't so chilly that night. Had lawn seats, so it got a bit nippy.

  • Jack's Mannequin Stole The Show

by BearBearBear on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray put on a great show to be sure, but Jack's Mannequin was so entertaining! The lead singer/piano player had so much charisma, I am definitely a Jack's Mannequin fan now.

So don't ever miss a chance to see the Fray! I was lucky enough to meet them again (2x in 6 months) as I won the Fray's Star of the Day contest and got my own dressing room backstage where they came to hang out for a bit. I missed jack's b/c I was backstage until the fray went on but who cares I was chillin with the Fray instead! Ben played around on my guitar and they r just such nice, chill guys. Oh and the show was amazing! Love when u know every song at a concert and can get into it! They r all very talented musicians and all aroung great guys---- see them wherever and whenever u can! They r not to be missed-- one of the best bands ever!

  • Great... until the rain.

by RainCloud on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin was awesome. They played a really good set. The Fray were great too, but I had to leave five or six songs into it because the rain turned into a torrential downpour. However, there were definitely still people there and it was a ridiculous amount of rain, so they must have been really good.

  • Great show

by AinATL on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

It was a pretty awesome show! There was a super long wait between Jack's Mannequin and The Fray, but that seems to be status quo these days. The only other negative part was that The Fray's sound folks were lacking a bit - sometimes the sound was a little fuzzy. But the show was great, Merriweather is an awesome location, and it was an enjoyable evening.

  • The Fray went Above and Beyond Expectations

by dbiggz45 on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The weather was fiesrce but the concert was unforgettable. The Fray managed to hold the crowd in place during a torrential downpour and Thunder and Lightning. The band was definitely one I would come back over and over again to see. Well worth every dime I payed!

  • the best raining concert i've been too!

by NurseSteph on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

rain, thunder, and lightning did not shake the fray!

  • Happiness is a lightning bolt right beside me....

by DyscoKiwi on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, great concert. The storm actually made the concert really fun. I was disappointed that Isaac did not play the piano as much as he usually does. I realize that the Fray was going for a different approach, but still - the reason I love the Fray is because of the piano being the lead instrument. Concert could have run longer. Ending was extremely abrupt. Loved the song lineup. Thanks so much for playing "Little House," "Vienna," "Say When," and "Heaven Forbid."

  • AMAZING!

by swimmingthroughthestereo on 7/15/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin is my favorite band, so I went to the concert only to see them (not The Fray). Jack's was amazing, but I stood in line after their portion for a meet and greet, so I didn't hear The Fray. But I'm sure they did well, too. I gave an overall rating of 5 stars because Jack's Mannequin did so well and I met the lead singer, Andrew McMahon.

  • The Fray at Chastain Park

by Audigirl01 on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't very familiar with Jack's Mannequin and I didn't know what to expect performance wise from them. They were wonderful. They showed a tremendous talent and really kept the audience entertained before The Fray came out. Despite the really poor weather, never been more soaked in my life, The Fray did an outstanding job of keeping the audience engaged and even went so far as to come out into the stands and sing. It was a concert my husband and I can cherish the memories of for a lifetime.

  • Great Show - in spite of the rain....

by UGAacct02 on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the Fray at Chastain on June 12th with opening act Jack's Mannequin. Both bands were great and the performances were enjoyable. It poured through most of the Fray's set, but you can't help Mother Nature and the show went on anyway (we stuck it out). Would have liked a longer set (since tickets at Chastain are so pricey), but that's a function of the stupid neighborhood curfew (not the Fray's fault). All in all, great show!

  • The Fray & Jack's Mannequin were AWESOME!

by lgsa on 7/15/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Except for the pouring rain during the Fray, the concert was amazing. I'm a big Fray fan and unfortunately there were some wicked t-storms during their concert, but they continued playing with a fabulous and positive attitude. The biggest surprise was how awesome Jack's Mannequin was. I had never heard of them and they were unbelievable. I've since bought one of their cd's and they're my new favorite band!
