About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • Fray were fantastic

by GirlinBermuda on 7/16/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing The Fray and they did not disappoint (though would have loved the show even more if they had played 'Never Say Never'). I actually think The Fray sound better live/acoustically than they do on a studio album...which is why they get a solid, five-star rating from me for this particular live performance. They have a lot of energy, they put their all into each song, sound amazing and engage their audience. I got my money's worth, plus I had great seats - in the pit! - thanks to Ticketmaster, who allowed me (someone from outside the US/Canada) to purchase tickets and use my Fray fan code (unlike some other vendors out there!).

  • Amazing Concert!!

by THEFRAY on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

GREAT CONCERT! The first opener was the worst performer I've ever heard and made me consider leaving, but Jack's Mannequin was AMAZING! They were just as good, if not better, than the Fray! The Fray was great too!! Great concert!

  • Fun for the Family

by ddtang on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

There's something about The Fray and Jack's Mannequin that set them apart from other "pop" artists. Their dynamic piano rock ensembles convey a more modern feel than the duo of Elton John and Billy Joel. The quality of the music, combined with a semi-cultish following, provides for engaging evening adventure with masses of pre-teen girls and their parents. The Fray seem to understand this, showing no outward qualms as virtually the entire ampitheater sat down for a large portion of the concert. Yes - sat down. At a rock concert. But that's the atmosphere when these two bands are in town It is all at once exhilarating, yet relaxed; entertaining, but subdued. Despite a few (somewhat masked) obscenities escaping the lips of Jack's Mannequin, all in all a great performance that is fun for the family. Overall, an entertaining adventure that gets you pumped up without putting you over the edge.

  • Show was awesome.

by Raee on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

This is my first time at a show at Merriweather Pavilian and I was not disappointed. I paid extra and chose to stand up near the stage which was the best way to watch this show. Both bands were very lively and got the crowd involved. I would go see both of these bands again and would not hesitate to recommend shows at Merriweather to others.

  • AMAZING...even in the rain!

by andreab4820 on 7/16/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was such an incredible show at Chastain! I had never heard of Jack's Mannequin before, but when they came out, they ROCKED the stage! What a great band to open up for one of my alltime favorites! The clouds had started to roll in, and the humidity was high when The Fray took the stage. A few songs into their set, it started POURING down rain which only added to an OUTSTANDING show. I think Issac was a little surprised at how many people stuck around until the final song! The only thing that would've made it better (and it could have been because of the weather!) is if the band would've played an encore. We all wanted it!!

  • I Heart The Fray

by BettySue on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

My roommate and I went to see the Fray at Merriweather Post Pavilion. We are both HUGE Fray fans, so of course we thought the show was fantastic. They played all of the favorites and even threw in a song from another artist to mix it up some. I would definately go see the Fray again. The only problem we had, was the jumbo-tron screens at Merriweather weren't really working, so there was either a blank screen or just a static shot of one band member.

  • The Fray with Jack was phenomenal!

by jomusic on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, The Fray did not disappoint. However, they were even more on top of their performance game. An unforgettable concert coupled with a fabulous, relaxed venue. If you've never experienced lawn seats at Merriweather--it's a must!

  • Jack's mannequin

by paxvox on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

I came to see Jack's Mannequin, and was not dissappointed at all! Andrew kicked butt and was his usual energetic self- at one point jumping on top of his piano and playing the keys with his feet. The Fray are a very-well-polished performance group, as they tend to be, and their show was good as well.

  • Jack's Mannequin played Something Corporate song!

by mandawahoo on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

I'd give anything to hear a Something Corporate concert, but Jack's Mannequin gave us a little taste of it at this concert when they played "Watch the Sky"! The Fray also did an amazing job, playing music from both their new album and their first/well-known album. It was my second time seeing them in concert. Loved it!

  • The Fray does not disappoint!!!

by CamrynCrazy on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing The Fray at Merriweather. They definitely put on a great show. We opted for the GA "seating." Great pictures, great memories... I can't wait to see them again.

  • Great show!

    by JPo4 on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome. If you love the Fray you will have a great time. If you don't really have an opinion about them, you will leave loving them. They played all the songs I wanted to hear and sounded amazing. I would definitely see them again!

  • The Fray Rocks!!!!

  • The Fray was unbelievable!!!

Even though it pour out non stop they were amazing! ;-)

  • Jack's Mannequin blew the fray out of the water

by NOFXfloggingmolleyAwsome on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

So the fray may have had the lights but jacks mannequin had the sound, every one of Jacks songs were well balanced and amazing to listen to but when the fray came on something just was never right, weather it was the level of voice alteration or feedback it seemed there were only short moments where something wasn't wrong with there sound. the reason the concert was still awesome completely and entirely because jacks mannequin Kicks Ass. and were alive and amazing to rock.

  • Lots of teeny boppers, but still great

by nkwal on 7/16/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

Think my friends and I were the oldest fans there, but still had a great time. They are really great live, but probably wouldn't recognize them on the street. Played all there popular songs and more.

  • The Fray in Toronto

    by Jennay71 on 7/16/09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing as usual. The Fray has to be one of the best bands you can see live. This is the second time I have seen them and they have not disappointed me at all. Every song sounds just like the CD and the light shows are incredible. Don't miss this band...see them every chance you get...I know I will!!!!!

  • The Fray was incredible

Had an absolutely amazing time. Crowd was really into it, every song was great. Absolutely great live performance. Will definitely see again at the first opportunity.

  • The Fray was great!!

    by yellow11 on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I thought this concert was pretty great, jack's and the fray both had great presence and knew how to engage the crowd!!! Even though I was on the lawn, I still had a great time singing along and it sounded like I was in the first row! I highly recommend seeing these two preform!

  • The Fray...Great Music!!

    by a1q2w on 7/15/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

They were great!!! Sounded just like the CD and you know they are good. One of the best albums I have heard in a very long time. Every song is a hit! Definitely go see them if you have the chance.
