About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • Awesome concert!

    by Lissy44 on 7/21/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing a concert at the Merriweather. The venue is so unique and intimate. I had pit tickets so the view was outstanding. The Fray played a great assortment of songs and did a few covers. I would definitely see them again.

  • This crowd sucked!

by crowdhater on 7/21/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

The music was great. The light show was incredible. I applaud all three band performances. I was deeply saddened to see the attitude of the crowd at this concert. Never before have I seen such apathy. Instead of feeling the upbeat music, the crowd seemed more concerned with catching every moment on their digital cameras. Instead of jumping to the beat, the crowd seemed like stiff statues. Instead of being excited and pushing toward the front of the stage, the crowd remained stagnant, apathetically watching the performances with crossed arms. Instead of living in the moment, and feeling the music in the present, the crowd concerned itself with being able to relive the moment later. None of them really lived through this concert. None of them experienced it first hand.

  • Great concert!! Both bands were great.

by worldtour on 7/21/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

We had never seen The Fray or Jack's Mannequin in concert before and thought they were both great. Jack's Mannequin was an awesome opening act. Overall a great combo to go see together!

  • The Fray was simply amazing!!!

by JayO on 7/20/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray gave such a amazing show. The band performed every song with such feeling and story telling that I was simply blown away. The singing was way better than recorded on cd, which you don't hear very often these days. They also came back out and performed an encore presentation that was at least 30 mins long, and during the show kept the crowd very much part of the concert!! I had never heard of Jack's mannequin before, but the performance was very entertaining as well. I would go over and over again in a heart beat!!

  • The best.

by Amytallmountain on 7/20/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I waited to see my favorite band The Fray for years and experiencing my first Fray concert at the Pearl was awesome. It's a smaller venue and has an intimate feel to it. I'm so glad I was able to watch Jack's Mannequin and Meese as well. Both were great performers! The Fray blew me away. I loved every second of it and the set was awesome! Nice addition of older songs. Isaac was amazing away from the piano and he should dance around more often. Ben is a beast on his drums! Dave really impressed me and I loved watching Joe rock out to "We Build Then We Break". Go see them!

  • The FRAY rocked Vegas like no other!

by Shap on 7/20/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This was a superb show. The Fray rocked the Pearl in Vegas like no other! These guys are an amazing band with endless talent. They played one great song after another. I was very impressed. Highly recommend people to buy a ticket to a show or else you are missing out.

  • The Fray's performance is...different

by 4rayPhan on 7/20/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

What can I say? I love the Fray...saw them in Dallas in 07 and they were amazing...saw them in NYC back in Feb 09, they were unforgettable, saw them July 09 in Las Vegas and they were good. I was surprised by how they changed the show from Feb to July...but I personally enjoy the Fray's down-to-earth attitude and performance with Isaac on the piano for most of the performance and the rest of the guys nearby. However for the first half of their set Isaac was standing up and singing, like a showman. Normally this is cool, but after getting used to their previous style of performance, I was not too happy for the change. Regardless, the music was great, as always. Jack's Mannequin was great also! I'm a new fan.

  • fray was solid

The second opener; Jacks Mannequin; was really impressive. The Fray rocked! I would suggest some type of lower roof device on the west end as sun light glared up until 8 or so and made it difficult to view the concert.

  • Great Performance

by Sparty1 on 7/20/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray put on a great show at DTE. Played all the popular songs plus a lot more and had an extra long extended encore.

  • The Fray in Atl

by yyyeah on 7/20/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre Peter Conlon Presents - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert i have ever been to! The Fray was Amazing!! this was at an outdoor venue and it poured rain on us the entire time but it made the concert soo much more fun...the rain made it powerful! I couldn't have asked for a better time!

  • The Fray did it right!

by Showgoer2 on 7/19/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Isaac Slade knows how to own a stage and put on a show. The pacing of the setlist was perfect. Lots of money was spent on the stage effects. Lasers, lighting, video were tastefully used to enhance the performance. The Pearl is intimate, high tech with incredible acoustics. Unless you're in a VIP box the seating is tigh though. I think the sound mixing was too bass heavy but otherwise crisp and clean. The warm up bands (Meese and Jack's Mannequin) were better than adequate. I'm not a big fan of either but the crowd really liked em.

  • Speechless

by TheFrayForever on 7/19/09PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

When I saw that The Fray was going back on tour I was stoked. Then when I heard that Jack's Mannequin would be opening for them I about passed out. I love both of these bands and think they are simply amazing. When the concert came they definitely did not prove me wrong. Both bands sound almost exactly the same in-concert as they do on their Cd's...which is a very rare occurrence these days. I took so many pictures and videos that I had to delete ones off of my camera during the concert because I was out of space. The Fray definitely stepped it up and put on a much better show than they did on their last tour two years ago.

  • The Fray + Rain = AMAZING!

I'm always impressed with The Fray! This concert was by far the best show I've seen in a year and I can't wait to see them again.

  • BEST CONCERT EVER! AWESOME ENDING!

by SPVZ on 7/19/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THIS CONCERT AND THE TALENT OF THE FRAY! THEY AREN'T THE KIND OF BAND THAT RECORDS WELL BUT SUCKS AT PERFORMING LIVE! THEIR PERFORMANCE ROCKED! THE ENDING GAVE ME CHILLS! IT IS AMAZING WHEN A SUCCESSFUL MUSICAL GROUP RELATES TO US "NORMAL" FOLKS AND MAKES US FEEL LIKE EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY! JUST OUTSTANDING!

  • The Fray was better than last time!!

by AVIDFAN22 on 7/19/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen both Jack's Mannequin and the Fray before and this concert was so good that I would gladly purchase tickets to see them again. They sound better than the do on their albums!

  • Amazinggg!!

by Ev005 on 7/19/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Both the Fray and Jack's Mannequin were unbelievable. They were by far the best live performance I have seen. The Fray sounded even better live, and it was awesome. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and I would see them again.

  • The Fray were AMAZING!!!!

by Baylee on 7/19/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

We saw The Fray two years ago and thought they were amazing and I don't know how they do it but the show was even better this time. They are such a powerful, emotional, moving band and Jack's Mannequin was icing on the cake.
