About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • Great Concert!

Jack's Mannequin, the opening act, was amazing! They were fun to watch and sounded great. The Fray also had a great performance! Highly recommended to see both of them

  • Non-stop entertainment

Jack's Mannequin continues to impress with their high-energy performances during every song. They never lost the viewer's attention; rather, the viewer was entranced immediately. This was my first time seeing The Fray and I felt they were great. Isaac's voice is so unique, and all of the songs seem to hit home for me. The other band member's weren't very involved in the spotlight, but that didn't matter because they all sounded great. I would highly recommend seeing this concert, no matter who you are, what your age is, or what type of music you typically like. The Fray will not disappoint.

I went to watch Jack's Mannequin and fell in love with the Fray.

  • The Fray with Jack's Mannequin was awesome!!!!!

by JBID on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The entire concert was a blast. I missed the the band that playd before Jack's Mannequin. I volunteered to help out Reverb, which The Fray helps to promote. It is a great cause and was a lot of fun to help out before the show and between sets. The time flew by very quicky. It was nice that The Fay came back on stage to play a few more songs when they had already been done with their performance. They are awesome and put on an excellant show. I wish they would play here again soon, or in Iowa some time. That would be great. The Target Center was a great loction (except for road construction) for the concert. I wish they could have come out to take pictures with the fans. IT WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE SHOW!!!!!

  • Jack's Mannequin upstages headliner

by MoCat on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

A friend once said - in art - perfect is the enemy of quality. The performance of the Fray demonstrated that adage. The Fray seemed precisely scripted - from the comments about prior venues which is apparently repeated throughout the tour, to the positions of the performers on stage - which seemed designed primarily for the convienience of the camera rather than the audience. By contrast, I really enjoyed Jack's Mannequin, even though I did not know any of their songs. Very similar music, but a much more engaging performance that seemed personal.

  • The Fray was INCREDIBLE!!

    by mandarae50 on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I have never had the chance to see The Fray live until last night and I've been a fan for many years. They hit songs from both of the albums and did a couple cover songs which were extraordinary! His voice is one-of-a-kind and he is incredibly talented on the piano. His stage presence was very memorable but I'll remember his piano playing and singing the most! I will definitely see them again!

  • FF=Fabulous Fray

by OldGreyGuy on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

They show was good all around : The opening act, Meese, is a band that I had not heard much about and now will at least add them to my Pandora list. They are definatly worth getting to know a bit better. Jack's Mannequin did everything a warm up band should do. They got the crowd into the moment and reallying enjoying their music. They had great repore with the crowd and honestly seemed to be enjoying themselfs and wanting the crowd to do the same. The Fray took the stage and took off where JM left off and only got better. The y played there hits an mmixed in new songs. I have to admit that I took my daughter and two of her friends to this concert. This was their first stadium concert. I have been to a lot of concerts and have to admit they were treated to a very good first experience.

  • The 3 Bands together made it an awesome experience

by pinksurvivor on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a Fray fan ever since the beginning- love their CD's. They were great to watch in concert, but I can't say I would necessarily see them again live unless they had great openers again. They only played an hour and a half, which is fairly short for a headliner. I am used to Bon Jovi, Nickelback, and others who sing at least 2-2.5 hours. They are entertaining to watch because of the heart and soul they put into their music, but after watching the crazy high energy of Jack's Mannequin, they kind of seemed to fall flat. Now for Jack's Mannequin- Best. Act. Ever! I am a JM fan- I have some of their songs off of ITunes, so I figured I would enjoy seeing them live. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy them! The lead singer Andrew has crazy energy- he was jumping on his piano, he was dancing on the keys, he was just plain awesome to watch. The other bandmates were also great, having wonderful energy as well. I WILL DEFINATELY see them live again. The only thing that annoyed me were the people around me- I am a concert stander. I figure you are there for maybe 4 hours total, there are breaks in between the sets, so get off your butt and show the bands some respect while they are playing. I understand those who can't stand- I have a friend with MS- now I wouldn't expect him to. Buuuuut, there were so many young, capable people around us who sat the entire time through both of the opening bands, and even the majority of The Fray. I only wish I had stood my ground and stood anyways thru JM- the only time I felt brave enough was the very last song. Now for Meese- prior to the concert I had never heard of them. I am now buying their CD's. So great! They had a lot of energy as well and sounded great. The coolest thing about them was that they announced at the end that they would be around to meet people after their set. They said they love to meet their fans. I have never in all of my concert going days heard that from a band. So awesome! So in wrapping this up, I would recommend the concert as a whole as simply amazing. The 3 bands together are what made it work for me. Great job guys!

  • The Fray/Jack's Mannequin Sound Great!

by KMJohns on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Both bands sounded really good live. They sounded just like they do on recordings. Both bands played over hour long sets. It was great show!

  • Fray puts on a great show!

by KFranz on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The overall set-up looked fantastic; they put on a fabulous light show with this tour and it looked great. The songs they played were primarily from their most recent album but they also played some older songs! This was my first time seeing The Fray in concert and I was really impressed, it was totally worth the money!

  • Hands down best show I have EVER Seen!!

by Dauli on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray has been a favorite for me since their first album debuted! Seeing them live was on my bucket list and now I can happily cross it off! I was blown away by the concert! It was everything I had hoped for and more! I was seated in a lower level seat towards the back of the Target Center and I thought the seats were great. The guys in The Fray put on an excellent show and I couldn't have asked for anything more! Thank you so much for your music! Good luck with the rest of your tour and God Bless!

I thought the Fray was amazing. I was unsure what to expect, but they sound as good in concert as they do on the CD. I loved the cover of "Heartless." Jack's Mannequin was great as well. I would recommend this concert to anyone!!!!

I had such a great time at The Fray concert. They put on a really good show. I love to watch them do their thing. They are such a real band in person as they are on their albums and on television. I truly love The Fray!
