About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

The Fray were wonderful live. They sounded even better than on the radio/cd. I would definately go see them again. The singing, show, and instruments were really good. I loved them and the opening bands were excellent as well!

  • The Fray was absolutely amazing.

The Fray with Jack's Mannequin was the most amazing show I've ever seen live. Their energy and vocals were right on, and the sound was great. Worth every penny! The Target Center was also easy to reach by GPS and parking was only $10, which was conveniently connected to the Target Center by skywalk. Overall, the best concert I've ever been too. I love the Fray!

I took my 14 yr old daughter to the concert and we really loved it. They send out very positive messages that are right on taret with todays' teens. Keep the faith and we are loyal fans. We will continue to buy their music, go to the concerts and spread their messages. Tami & Mari

I have seen The Fray 4 times in the Twin Cities and this was by far the best show they have put on that I've seen! They all had so much energy as well as the crowd!

  • Good performance, but too large of a venue

by schneak on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

The Fray put on a solid performance but my fears that they are not cut out for the big arena were mostly confirmed. It was still an entertaining show and they sound great. They are at their best though when Isaac is hunched over the piano and this plays much better at a smaller venue. Seeing them at a large venue is nothing like seeing them at a small club.

  • The Fray was forgettable

    by J1989 on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

If i hadn't won the tickets i would've asked for my money back. The band ripped off coldplay almost entirely. A couple songs were good but the band only played for alittle over an hour. Not worthy of playing in front of that many people.

  • Absolutely Amazing!

    by Joker8907 on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Both Jack's Mannequin and the Fray were incredible on stage! Perfect amount of music and audience participation!! I was on the floor and it was so fun! The only complaint I have was that I wish i could've sat between bands... I was so stiff after! But still, it was way fun and an amazing concert!

  • the Fray was great!

  • Amazing Show!

by pjae on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly, I like the Fray but went more to see the opening act, Jack's Mannequin. Jack's didn't disappoint and they were amazing as ever. But I was really surprised with what the Fray brought forth. Their sound was spectacular--I could've been listening to their CD they sounded so good--and their "light" show was wicked. One of the best shows that I've seen in awhile!

  • Very Good

    by tdawg15 on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

In my opinion the opening acts of Mees and Jacks Mannequin were a bit boring. When the Fray came on they blew the stage away and played a great show. I was with a group of guys who only knew a couple of the songs written by the Fray and they still loved the concert. They did a great job of interacting with the crowd and the light shows were high quality. If you didnt know the opening bands then i would tell you to show up an hour later and watch the Fray only because they made the show great

  • The Fray were AMAZING!

by crystalmunstermann on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome show!! The sound was a little shoddy in the beginning but everything was sorted after a bit and they played all the songs everyone expected! Love LOVe LOVe the fray and would see them over and over!

  • ALL THREE BANDS WERE AWESOME

by WOODFINDER on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Both opening bands had a lot of energy and were very entertaining and I have downloaded some of their songs already today. The Fray show has evolved so much since I first seen them play at the Varsity Theater 3 or 4 years ago. A great mix of old and new songs even with a cover song. The stage lighting was awesome.

  • FRAY WAS AMAZING!

    by ahatzz11 on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

this concert was amazing. simply amazing. the lights and the stage was set up perfectly. the background designs were terrific. the warm-up bands sounded great. but let's not forget the reason we all spent 50+ dollars. the music. I like how they added some songs from their previous album like "over my head (cable car)" as well as new hit songs such as "happiness" and "you found me". This has been one of the best concerts that i have been to and i will always remember

  • Amazing and well put together

by Maranda on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Jacks Mannequin was a little rougher than the frayy but an amazing sound. Andrew started with there hit dark blue. Andrew had it timed perfectly when it the music would get loud he'd jumped on the keys of the piano. They did have a lot of alcahol on stage but I would definitley go see jacks mannequin again. The frayy did take an hour to get on stage but the show was great beginning to end. They started out with happiness They had a smaller stage but the lights were phenommal. Isaac slade really let go jumping on his piano and playing with his microphone stand. He did talk and said minneapolis was the best crowd and he swears to god he hasn't said it to anyone else. And saying how we have this relationship where he talks and sings for an hour and half and we scream he said other cute things like that. His voice sounds just like the cd he could hold the notes pit for minutes the frayy are just humble sweet guys. They deserve everything they have. This band puts on a better show than anuother band I've seen if you have to choose one band to see this year see the fraydurimg the encore they played heartless and in my opinion it was 10 times better than kanyes. And it was fun hearing Isaac slade say homie to

  • They were pretty good.

by ViciousDC on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin was really good. They took their songs and rocked them out a little more which was neat. Overall, great! The Fray had a really good stage presence. The lights and set was awesome. The band members really connected with the crowd and they sounded awesome. The only thing I didn't like was their 6 song encore. Seriously, an encore is like 2 songs tops.

  • The Fray was GREAT!

by Queenicesis on 7/22/09Target Center - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

This was one of the best live shows that I've seen in a while. all the bands were very good. But the Fray was defiantly one of the best live bands that I've ever seen! The Target Center was a good size to give you the feel of an intimate concert with the bands.
