About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • The Fray are really talented!

I've been to bands where they just don't sound like there cd, but the Fray did a great job! the sound was awesome and the lighting they had was really cool. They maybe could have connected witht the audience better by getting us pumped up, but overall a good show!

  • If you can get tickets, see them. Now.

The Fray and Jack's Mannequin were outstanding in concert. Jack's Mannequin is all about making a show while playing great music, for example, at the end of one of the songs, the lead singer jumped onto the piano keys, and on the last beat jumped to the ground. It was a great atmosphere, everyone dancing and singing along to all the songs. The Fray wasn't as upbeat, but when they came to a well known song, everyone was singing. However, the lead singer is incredibly talented, and only took a two minute break throughout the entire show, and he didn't miss a note. Their cover of Heartless by Kanye West was also fantastic.

Jack's Mannequin was great and then was followed up by The Fray which was an even better show.

  • The Fray was simply amazing!!!

The entire show The Fray put on was incredible...everyone stood and sang through the whole concert. I loved how he mixed the new with favorites from past CD's and even through in a couple cover's....it was well worth every penny spent and then some!

  • Jack's Meet & Greet was awesome!

My daughter (15 yrs) was amazed by the piano playing and enjoyed meeting the lead singer! Unfortunately she missed The Fray concert :( Although she did see the encore.

  • The Fray always sounds incredible

My only issue with this show was the length of The Fray's set. It wasn't long enough. We paid to see them, and it felt like it was half Jack's Mannequin and half the Fray. Actually, there was a band even before Jack's Mannequin. I personally don't love J.M., so that's part of my opinion. However, I do know many wanted to hear more songs from The Fray and feel that since they were the headliner, they should've played longer than the Openers. Their set was fabulous, as it was 2 years ago. The sound quality was top notch. Too bad it didn't last for even 2 hours.

  • I love The Fray!!!!!

by Gules on 7/6/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

The Fray was amazing! They sounded exactly the same, if not better, live! The opening and closing were unforgettable! They also got the crowd involved which made it really fun! I would definitely recommend going to The Fray concert!

  • The Fray are even better live..

by crowe on 7/6/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

How can a band sound better live?? The Fray absolutely put on an unbelievable show, singing all of their greatest hits. The concert was well worth my trip to Milwaukee!

  • Jack's Mannequin, always so amazing!!

by breathingsymphonies on 7/6/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin had an outstanding performance as always! Andrew always brings so much energy to each and every show! It was my 9th time seeing Jack's and I was still as excited as ever! The Fray had a great light show, lots going on behind them. I feel like most of their songs sounded very similar though. I don't think I'd go see them again, but if you're a huge Fray fan, then go for it.

  • The Fray rocked!!!!

This was the first time seeing the Fray and it was one of the best shows I have seen in years. We had a great time and Summerfest was so much fun. I will do this again.

Outstanding outdoor ampitheatre show. Saw them four years ago in a club after the first album and they have really come along as great entertainers. Awesome sound and lights. Great set!!! Four encores.

  • The Fray was muscialy good, but in bad taste.

by DFMills on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 3 out of 5

Generally a good concert, last saw the Fray in 2007, at the Red Rocks. Found the "ghost" persona in bad taste, and to diminish the overall content of the song. Also, Issac is no Springsteen and should not cover his songs ever again.

  • Awesome

by MagicalAllure on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this concert rocked!!! The set was so exciting and The Fray covered all of their greatest songs, in my opinion, to date. Definitely worth it, I would go see the same concert again! I didn't sit down once.

  • The Fray Rocked!

    by 4Fray on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Love their music! It's artful, meaningful and beautiful! I would see them again--though I prefer smaller venues. The Fray rocked! You can tell they are artists that love to share their music. Nice light show!!! Sound over all for the whole evening could have been a little better - but was much better than the two opening bands.

  • A fun show

by BigFrank on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin played with a lot of passion and The Fray performed all their hits and stuff from their new album. They all had a lot of fun on the stage with each other.

  • Frey with Jack's Mannequin

by Looper on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Jack had some energy, but the Frey took it to the next level. It made for a memorable event for my son as it was his first concert. Stimuated via sound, feel, and vision. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that is a fan of good music.

  • The Fray @ Summerfest

    by ILoveMilwaukee11 on 7/5/09Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray was even better live than on recording...my one complaint would be that there were a lot of slower songs right in a row and the audience definitely would have been pumped up by some more lively songs.
