The Elders returned to the Uptown in Kansas City for their annual Hoolie, and as usual did not disappoint.
Seems like the Hoolie is a tradition of not only a grand party...but introducing new members as well....who always seem to joinby adding a seamless transistion....From keyboards, a new drummer and now Colin playing whistle and fiddle is a new joy. The band played some new material and some standard favorites that at this point with the band are now timeless for any loyal Elder's fan. New tunes are melodic and danceable.
Multi instrumentation by Brent, Norm and Kian have rounded out a new sound, but very much the Elders to be sure. Seems like the sky is the limit we these lads.
With a haze of smoke reminiscent of an evening of fog in Dublin, lights moving and augmenting the music ( how do they do that?) a rousing frenzy in 2 hours plus ending with a giant mirror ball, confetti and balloons in the audience....the crowd was happy and exhausted!
The evening was being filmed for a concert DVD for a later release and broadcast.
We hope The Elders always return for a Hoolie and some mighty fine crac every year!
