    Amazing....Clay Aiken and cast

by redroses44 on 5/12/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Just a wonderful funny poignant musical. Clay Aiken in the lead role as Man In the Chair will surprise those that don't know his talents, and embrace those that do. A show not to be missed....only 2 performances left today. Run, don't walk to the box office for a ticket you will not regret it.

The Drowsy Chaperone was extremely entertaining.

by Forbfoto on 5/12/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The Drowsy Chaperon was well cast and well played. Very entertaining. I joyed seeing Clay Akin in a different role. I would have enjoyed hearing him sing at least one song.

Clay Aiken is not only an awesome singer, but a proven actor as well. He is phenomenal in this play. His performance is award worthy - a must see!

Clay Aiken tremendous as "Man in Chair"

by CinnamonBear57 on 5/11/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

My wife and I saw the Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway with Bob Saget as "man in chair" and we both hated it. It was the least favorite play we ever attended. I was dreading going to the Raleigh production but my wife wanted to support the theater and Clay Aiken in his return to Raleigh. We both were amazed at how much better the Raleigh performance was than the Broadway version we saw. Clearly the directors, producers and other cast had a significant role is this, but we both noted how much more likeable Clay was in the role and how he made the audience part of his "man in chair" world. I never believed I would say this, but the Drowsy Chaperone is now a production I like and appreciate. Well done to all.

    Drowsy Chaperone was awesome!

by Saanc on 5/11/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Fun, fun, fun! Enjoyed every moment. Excellent talent. Everyone was exceptional. Only wish Clay Aiken had sung!!! He was pretty terrific, though!

Drowsy Chaperone was funny and entertaining.

by momeason on 5/11/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Enjoyed the show. Clay Aiken played the " Man in Chair" and was a great casting decision. He did a marvelous job with his part and the part suited him. I only wish he had a chance to sing for us. We saw this show in Charlotte almost a decade ago. Either Clay was allowed to embellish or most of the lines had been updated. We found this production to be much funnier than the show we remembered. The music was also good and the other characters were also funny but Clay definitely received the most laughs. Enjoyable evening!

Knowing nothing about this show,I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The actors were all exceptional,I think this cast was perhaps the most talented cast I have seen outside of Broadway. I was quite impressed by Clay Aiken and his comedic ability. It was a most enjoyable evening.

    Drowsy Chaperone...funny!

by bb77eagleridge on 5/10/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I loved the show as far as being funny and the music was great. BUT I kept waiting for Clay to sing. I went with a group of six and that was everyone's comment. I think the show would be much better if Clay could sing at the least one song!

    Would recommend to anyone!!!

by ARecentlyNewFan on 5/10/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

This play was very well put together, and the actors seemed to really enjoy performing it. They were extremely professional in performing the "little things" that make the audience forget that they are watching a play. Other than a slight name mix up, short microphone issue and a stage prop change that almost came in a little early the show was perfect.

    The Drowsy Chaperone was delightful!

by macmom66 on 5/9/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I really enjoyed the show. The whole cast was really good -- talented singers & dancers. Clay Aiken as Man in the Chair reflected so well a reclusive, sensitive, and lonely man who loves his musicals. He showed his acting chops for sure. Beth Leavel was also just wonderful as The Drowsy Chaperone -- love her voice and that of Yolanda Rabun, the aviatrix. This show is a little bit vaudeville, a little bit comedy, dancing, singing, and the Man in the Chair (Clay Aiken) was able to weave his story in and out of he mayhem. Thank you, NC Theatre, for bringing this show to Raleigh.

    cute show - great performers

by nyncgirl on 5/9/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The performers are what made this show. I was disappointed Clay Aiken didn't really sing; that is why I really wanted to see the show. I have learned that in this theater, good seats are critical. I did not have them. I was in row M. That was WAY too far away.

    Don't miss this

by Winstoncat on 5/9/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Funny, funny show. Loved Clay Aiken and Beth Level, but all the actors were great. It reminded me of a Mel Brooks production with a bit of melancholy.

A thoroughly professional and FUN performance

by RobertGP on 1/30/11Alden Theatre - McLean

To be honest, I couldn't believe this was community theater. The cast was professional and polish and the direction made the production both hilarious and touching. If this is typical of the McLean Community Players, I'll definitely be back--soon.
