About

The Doobie Brothers have produced some of classic rock’s most memorable hits. From the polished yacht rock sound of “What a Fool Believes” — a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked by Rolling Stone Australia as one of the greatest songs ever — to the feel-good harmonies of “Listen to the Music,” The Doobie Brothers’ more than five-decade run has made them one of the preeminent live bands to see. Since their debut album in 1971, The Doobie Brothers have won two Grammy Awards, landed eight albums in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold nearly 50 million albums worldwide. The band has showcased their 14 gold-album repertoire on a globetrotting 50th anniversary tour that began in 2021 with the reunited lineup of Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and John McFee playing together for the first time in nearly 25 years.

    A Disappointment

by SMC on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

They are good musicians however the concert was lacking the sound I remembered. Maybe because the lead singer had left the tour for back surgery. I would have opted not to attend and receive my money back if that was possible. The band did a good job but it was not the same.

    AWESOME

by Bella on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Three and a half hours of nothing but the Doobie Brothers. Sang old and newer songs. Band engaging. They sang as if there hadn’t been 50 years since their inception. LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! THANKS GUYS

    Doobie Brothers Calgary 2023

by Griz on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Fun to see them again but missed Tom in the show. Vocal sound levels were off on a few songs so it was difficult to understand them . It would have been nice to have some big screens showing the performers and I would have thought this would be standard for a band like this. Still a nice trip down memory lane.

    Dobbie Brothers

by Rossco on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Thought they were fantastic but could have done a few more Michael McDonald songs at the beginning. Great they all still have such strong voices.

    Doobie Brothers

by Mona on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

There should have been large screens or the Jumbotron playing close-up views of the band on the stage. Could not see any of the solo instrumentals! Very disappointing. Music and tunes were great. Viewing sucked.

    Did not disappoint!

by Hogger on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

The band was tight...close your eyes and it was like listening to the album in your living room.

Still Great after all these years

by NeilM on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

It was a great performance at the Saddledome. Acoustics were as good as one can expect. Only thing was I expected there’d be jumbotron set up so we’d have a closer up view of the band..

    Doobie brothers concert

by Mike on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

The concert was just ok not enough vocals and singing and too much filler. There was no live screen to see them perform close up when you are seated up high in the arena. Disappointed for the money that I paid.

    Great concert

by Chuck on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

The real McCoy , no young back up singers to try and make them sound better 1 Police officer could have handled all security LOL

    Loved It!

by Randy on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Played all the oldies and a few new songs. Crowd was definitely older (average age 55+) but they were dancing in their seats and in the aisles. Was nice to sit back and listen to all the songs from AM radio in the 70's. Mike McDonalds voice brought back so many memories.

    One of the brst

by It was great on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

They put on a fantastic 50th Anniversary show without several major members not there. As usual the music was so load that you could not hear the vocals. The tickets were far too expensive too. The band put on a 2 1/2 hour show with no opening act. I really missed Tom Johnson and Jeff Baxter.

the band was great / but the sound was poor

by scottieboy on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Sound is never great at the saddledome, but its sure been better at other concerts Ive attended. I'll never sit on the sides again (we were in section 213). I'd go see the Dobbie Bros again in a heartbeat if I could be confident the sound would be better in different seat or in a different venue. Unfortunately the base and drums were just "noise"that often washed out the vocals, guitars and organ. The only performance that was consistently clear was the sax player. The sound quality was disappointling; to say the least.

    Disappointed

by Norm on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Disappointing to find the vast majority of songs were their newer songs and not their old songs that we paid to hear.

    Overwhelmed

by Darrell Britton on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

One of the best shows I've ever see so good to see the guys in action. The show will stay in my memory for ever as an amazing show. Love you Doobie Brothers. I only wish I will see you again.

    Doobie brothers

by Pat on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Getting in was easy but if you don’t have a cell phone, you’re screwed. Sound was good with the exception of the bass and saxophone. Bass was muddled as best and the sax was overboard. Too much and way too loud. Some of my guests said it hurt their ears. And where was Tom Johnson? Guys did a reasonable job of replacing him but we paid to see the whole band.

    Great Experience

by Kentski on 10/28/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Loved the concert. If you r a Doobie Bros fan, as I am you would have really loved it. Just one slight issue, the music over played the vocals. I’m not sure if the why that was s I been to the Saddledome before and that wasn’t an issue then.
