About

The Doobie Brothers have produced some of classic rock’s most memorable hits. From the polished yacht rock sound of “What a Fool Believes” — a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked by Rolling Stone Australia as one of the greatest songs ever — to the feel-good harmonies of “Listen to the Music,” The Doobie Brothers’ more than five-decade run has made them one of the preeminent live bands to see. Since their debut album in 1971, The Doobie Brothers have won two Grammy Awards, landed eight albums in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold nearly 50 million albums worldwide. The band has showcased their 14 gold-album repertoire on a globetrotting 50th anniversary tour that began in 2021 with the reunited lineup of Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and John McFee playing together for the first time in nearly 25 years.

    Awesome Experience

by ShadeBlue on 2/1/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

We caught the last show in Austin and were glad we did! Being a fan going back to the 70’s and having never seen them live, they didn’t disappoint on any level! The strength of their long term band members performed at a very high level and played a great mix of their most popular hits! Well worth the pricey tickets, would go again for sure!

    Magnificent show!

The Doobie Brothers did not disappoint. They played all the hits. China Grove is my favorite! I would definitely see them again.

    Worth it!

by Concert, music was great! on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

The only complaint, was in second row aisle, first tier above the floor, great spot except we had to turn 90 degrees to the stage to see the band. Very hard on the neck.

    Hey… it’s THE DOOBIES❣️…duh‼️

by Fan of “THE BOYS 💪🏼“ on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

This makes the 3rd Doob concert that we’ve attended dating back to the mid 1980s. If you close your eyes you absolutely can’t tell which decade it is!!!!! “The Boys” have not missed a step in reigning as the world’s best combination of talents, a truly BEAUTIFUL SOUND‼️ Great, great performance! The crowd had an absolute blast! Never under estimate dancing fools over 60💃🏻! And yes, in case you’re wondering…. Michael McDonald is still hot‼️‼️

    Rock On

by Fenderbender on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

Doobie Brothers brought it to Austin’s Moody Center Jan. 28. They rocked and sounded great. Still got what it takes to Rock on down the road. Voices are still good and God Bless Patrick. He’s just one of the “good guys”! Awesome sound as the new Moody Center has great system. Mike Mcdonald sounded great also. Timeless songs. Hope they come back soon!!!

    Excellent show!

by AngieS on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

It was a very entertaining show. The music was on spot and their vocals were awesome. It was just well-played music! I really appreciated their focus on the music, They were pros to the core and avoided political crap. I would love to see them again when they are joined by Steven Winwood.

    It was yerrible

by Bkpeary on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

Parking sucked. The fundraiser going on was a surprise and buzzkill. The sound was awful. The staging was cheap. No screens showing close up of musicians. First song I knew. Next two never heard of. 4th song, we left. The worst concert we have attended at the Moody and pretty much anywhere. Come on Doobie Brothers and Moody..You can do better..

    fun experience

by Julia on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

The Doobie Brothers are always fun. This is perhaps my 4th or 5th time to see them, and this was probably not my favorite time. During the first half of the show, they sang more obscure songs I wasn't very familiar with, however, once they started singing their biggest hits, it was fabulous. They still sound great with beautiful harmonies. With every song, you think "that's my favorite song". Then the next song comes on and you think "no, that's my favorite". And on and on. Loved the addition of Michael McDonald. Highly recommend seeing them.

    POOR SOUND

by MAK on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

My first time seeing the Doobie Brothers and traveled from England to see them. I had an expensive resale seat so expected that the sound would be good but it wasn’t. Not sure if the poor sound was due to poor mixing, the suspended speaker system or the acoustics of the Moody Centre. I was shocked to see how many empty seats there were, probably due to there being so many expensive resale tickets. Why is this allowed? There were two small suspended screens either side of the stage but they did not show the band, this would have been a great help to see them. Would love to see them again but will try to see them at a venue designed for music rather than basketball.

We couldn't even get to our parking

by Annoyed on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

Police had all the roads around the venue closed, traffic backed up everywhere, we finally gave up. We won't be going to another concert at that venue.

The Doobie Bros. sound better than ever

by Skeeter on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

incredible show, perfect seats, warm up band was fantastic, the sound was amazing (I attended the Sting Show and the sound was terrible) the Doobie Brothers rocked the house. They sounded just as they did years ago.

    OK night out, expected more

by GregW on 1/31/24Moody Center ATX - Austin

I bought 4 tickets ( wife’s birthday) @ $150 each with service charges, parking $60. Sat straight ahead of the stage- band was great for the most part, but sound was pretty muddy at times. The only video was 1970’s graphics with no live feed of the band- that was fine when tickets were $6 each in 1974, but for these prices we expected A LOT more. Facility was otherwise great ($15 drinks a bit high). Still love the Doobies. Just charge me $15 a ticket next time.

I had to leave because Horrible Sound Mix WAY TOO LOUD

    by Ex-Doobie Fan on 1/28/24

The sound crew ruined the concert for me. My wife and I left Dead after maybe only 5 songs... Static filled, horrible mix, terrible sound team... Must be replaced.

Doobies at Mahaffey/Duke Theatre St Pete, Fl

    by DB on 1/24/24

Tom did not play but can understand medical issue. Sound sucked because the band used the Venues sound system. Not good for concerts but for the Bands that bring their own sound system it's usually a great sounding inside the Theatre.

Band sounded great but no lead singer

by Steve on 11/2/23Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Finding out at the show that the lead singer wasn’t touring with the bad was a let down for sure. He was on the poster advertising the event, and there was no information offered before hand that Tom Johnston wasn’t planning on touring. The band played well of course, but felt like the fans attending were mislead.

    Improvements needed

by Fan on 11/1/23Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The concert was excellent… but we were disappointed security constantly allowed late comers to block the view of fans while they looked for seats. Most venues you have to wait for the entertainment to stop before you are permitted to enter… it wasn’t only once ….they allowed it with no issue while they and the security staff danced to the music… at least they could see…

    An amazing performance

by Ingy on 11/1/23Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

So enjoyed the concert. An amazing amount of talent that ended far too quickly. They rocked a full venue and they amazed us with their musician ship. Still have it 50+ years later. Mark Russo on the sax blew us away.

by Randy on 10/31/23Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Concert was very good. Seating was excellent music was amazing and the crowd was into it sang with the band as they obviously knew the lyrics and Queens Freddy Mercury would have been proud of the audience participation so yes I consider myself lucky to have had experienced this. Thank you
