  • Music still keeps running through my head!

It was truly great entertainment. The content was magnificently irreverent and was indeed a very funny satire on the Mormon Church and people of Uganda. Definitely not recommended for children! Unfortunately, I lost a lot of the prime content and jokes because of the heavy Ugandan accent used by the actors. It's definitely what you'd expect from the creators of South Park.

Best musical I've seen in a very long time! Great Job Matt, Trey and Robert.

  • Not for shy of heart

I thoroughly enjoyed The Book of Mormon especially in this political time. It was outrageously funny and the songs were fresh, new and very appropriate for the theme of the play. I was surprised in the second act when the language and action got so graphic. I was not offended but if I had taken my teenage nephew or niece to the performance I would have been uncomfortable with them. Perhaps there should be a warning that the play may not be appropriate for teenagers and some elderly adults. Overall, a fun experience and from what I know of the Mormon religion right on.

  • Wicked Funny

by KuriousKat on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

If you have a sense of humor -- and can handle R rated language and content -- this play is HYSTERICAL. The audience was laughing the entire time. The cast was amazing and was rewarded with a standing ovation at the end. Great storyline, great characters, songs a bit wonky/clunky but due in part to the humorous approach and content. DEFINITE recommend... really fun time! Go with friends and have a blast!

  • Best show ever!

by MirandaCallie on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Unlike many national tours, this production is as good, if not better, than the Broadway show. Beautifully crafted and executed on every level. But be prepared --- your sides will ache from all the convulsive laughter.

  • Mormon was hilarious

by uktheatregoer on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I had heard so many people say this show was amazing and they were correct. Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner were brilliant in their roles and worth particular mention.

  • Laughed Our Way Through

by DoubleTheFun on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The irreverent nature of "The Book of Mormon" caused us to laugh-out-loud throughout most of the play. It was fun, entertaining and thoroughly engaging. The actors gave a performance that will stay in our memories long after the play has left L.A.

  • WOW.....What a SHOW!

    by kash52 on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

LOVED it from the very beginning! The two opening acts were so good, they could have stopped there and I would have gotten my money's worth! Great lyrics, dancing and actors were fantastic. Would go see it again!

  • Sort of fun but nothing that sticks for very long

by Estfly on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

It was clever, a bit topical, but it wasn't a great musical by any means. The acting and singing and dancing talents was very good but they were working with less than a memorable scripts and music. The acoustics made it very hard to understand many of the words, especially the ones that were being sung. I would say the dancing was thehigh point and everything else was quite average. It was kind of like a good-natured romp, spoof of religion, with lots of stereotypes and lots of punches pulled. Alltogether, it was enjoyable at the moment and forgettable after just a few days.

Wonderful. Can't say enough about the show. Very funny and very entertaining.

  • Book of Laughter

    by godot67 on 9/12/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The Book of Mormon is one of the funniest musicals I have seen in a long time. It was an amazing production with a stellar cast, incredible sound, and a technical crew that worked very hard on making the show perfect. I have seen many shows in LA and have come away feeling like I was ripped off due to poor sound, garbled dialogue and cheap sets. Sometimes when a tour company comes to LA, it feels like the producers go "on the cheap" since this isn't Broadway. Not so for Book of Mormon. Although the language is explicit, it is an outstanding show that promises big and delivers. Don't miss it!

  • The Book of Mormon was hilarious.

by Irreverent on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The house was packed and the laughter rocked the rafters. Brilliantly developed with hilarious scenes. A bit "southpark" raunchy but that made it even funnier. EVERYONE was laughing by the end; even all the white hairs. Fabulous Show.

  • An absolute blast!

by MSLMW on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was the most fun I have ever had a the theatre! The show was totally entertaining from start to finish; the music was great, the voices were wonderful, and the cast was perfect in every way. The humor is what you would expect from the creators of South Park and I spent the entire show on the edge of my seat with a smile on my face, waiting for the next brilliant line/song/perfomance. We plan on going back before the show finishes its run in LA. Just remember to leave the kids at home and bring your sense of humor!

  • Book of Mormon--naughty fun!

by mbkla on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The Book of Mormon, in hilarious and entertaining fashion, illustrates the idea that all religions were made up at some point, and that they all have their ridiculous parts if you think about it. If you can't find that notion appealing, then skip this show. The songs are clever and funny, well sung and acted. The pace is good. The cast is perfect. It does have a lot of profanity and innuendo, so again be aware. The closest comparison, in terms of type of musical, that I have given to friends is to Avenue Q. That was also irreverent and laugh-out-loud funny, but it was sweeter. TBoM edges a bit toward mean-spirited.

  • Don't miss it!

by Hgkeith on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

It really is so good it makes you angry! We had amazing seats and had the best time. Just go see it!

  • Great Show!

by Sarahmos on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I really liked the show. The first half was definitely my favorite, it started very powerful and funny. The second half was also good, but in my view didn't measure up to the first half. Ending was fun, like any other musical.

  • Awesome

by ChuckNorrismo on 9/11/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This has to be the funniest play ever made. It's incredibly disrespectful and politically incorrect and so much fun. Thank you Matt and Trey.
