    AMAZING

by TS on 6/15/22Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

The show was absolutely fantastic. The vocal talent was astounding and the band’s talent was amazing. I loved the plot and appreciated the relatively small amount of swearing in the whole show. Needless to say I came home and listened to the whole soundtrack when I got home. If it was touring closer to my home, I would 100% go again!

    Just ok

by Bob s on 6/14/22Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

We love musical theater. This show needed more drama. The story was of common people in barely an uncommon situation. Given the premise of Israelis and Egyptian potential conflicts the play totally ignored 1000’s of years of conflict to tell a mundane story

    It was okay

by Anne on 6/13/22Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

Many people like this musical , but I found it somewhat boring . It was difficult to understand all the dialog with the accents . I enjoyed the performance of the lead male character but everyone else seemed kind of average . I knew upfront there was no intermission , yet it seemed very long to be watching .

    Disappointed

by David on 6/12/22Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

The female lead did not have a great voice. The male lead was dull. Some of the other voices and acting were good, but overall, the performance was boring, and I looked at my watch three times, wondering how much longer it would last. Waste of money.

    Shared Humanity

by Egwern on 6/12/22Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

This is a quiet musical with smaller moments, sweetness, heartache, longing, pain, sorrow and, ultimately, life. Wonderful music. It was fascinating to see the characters initially share awkward silences, but eventually connect through their shared humanity. The Band’s Visit is about people of different backgrounds realizing that they are not so far removed from one another via the experiences that come from being a human being. One of those connective tissues is the music, played by on stage musicians, that permeates the production. This is not a high energy show with lavish numbers and a complicated plot line. It is a character piece. Also, it is a perfect example of what we need in these divisive times.

You must see The Band's Visit

    by T on 5/6/22Fisher Theatre - Detroit

A captivating show that packed in a roller coaster of emotions into a small amount of time. We were on the edge of our seats; crying, laughing, hoping, loving....I liken it to Come From Away, renewing your hope in humanity in a time that the world needs it the most. Also, can we mention the live actor/musicians on the stage; I am in LOVE with this show and could watch it daily! A must for a theatre lover/goer. I cannot recommend it enough!

My faa add milt and I were very disappointed.

by Nina on 5/3/22Fisher Theatre - Detroit

For a robust Tiny award winning show, it was slow, depressing and lackluster. Not even a show stopper in the lot. The band playing at the end was the best part. Mind you, the actors were good but the script was wanting. I don’t get the fanfare at all. The acclaim was undeserving in my opinion.

    Wonderful play and experience

by Diva on 5/3/22Fisher Theatre - Detroit

For 90 minutes I realize that I was in Israel and nothing else was going on. The song was haunting and beautiful. The sound was off at times but I know the entire soundtrack.
