    Terrible evening!

by 'Da Bone on 3/15/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I was in the center of row G and the sound from the stage was inaudible! I ended up going outside and getting an assisted hearing device which made the sound much better - but saw all those around me complaining! The Paramount should be ashamed of itself! As for the play - not as good as i expected. The singing sounded off and the female lead and he accent didn't translate well. The story was okay, but not worthy of a Broadway production. I'm still wondering how this was a Tony Award winner - and so were all those who sat around me or were my guests for the evening.

    Boring and weird

by Mina on 3/14/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This show was very boring. I can’t believe it made it to broadway. There are so many silences you can hear a pin drop in the theater. I am originally Egyptian and the characters Arabic dialogue doesn’t make much sense. You keep waiting for anything interesting to happen, until nothing does happen and you just give up. I regret watching it. I think the main reason there was no intermission is so people can’t leave.

    Snooze fest

by Wooch on 3/14/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I have no idea how this play won awards. It was so slow and boring. Literally people were leaving early and multiple people around us fell asleep. This is a show about nothing. No story line, no great songs, nothing. The only positive is that is was short, with no intermission.

I would like a refund. It was terrible

by MG on 3/13/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

We couldn’t understand or hear the words and therefore couldn’t follow the story line. I have never experienced anything like it and have been to so many shoed. Such a disappointment

    Pain Creates a Memory

    by Jom123 on 3/12/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

If only it was longer, so there would have been an intermission, so we could have left sooner. Difficult to understand. This international drama-comedy had thick accents, bad sound and sparse comedy. Several audio speakers did not work. It was described as a French, American, Israeli collaboration. It felt more like Middle eastern and New York. We will never forget how bad this was. We created a funny family memory as a result which was definitely the best comedic outcome. No thanks for the experience, but thanks for the memory.

    The Bands Visit

by Michael on 3/12/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

To be honest I found the play kind of boring and a little too “cutesy” for me. As I left the show I overheard lots of people not liking it.

    Poorly executed

by Will on 3/11/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was the first musical we have attended for over two years. The execution of this was poorly done. The accents across the board were so thick I could not understand them. The female role needed to have her mic turned up as it was not loud enough.

    Band's Visit Comment

by Sonny on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Sitting in a virtually empty Balcony 6, I did not get the best view of the production.

    Not enough Band

by Rufus on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The cast did a good job, but I didn't think the play was all that inspiring. I thought there would be more singing and more of the band playing. Some of the songs were wonderful but didn't last very long.

    Band's Visit offers timely reminder

by PR Theater Lover on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The Band's Visit based on a real live event in which an Egyptian touring band accidently goes to the wrong Israeli town, is a timely reminder that all citizens share the same human expeience, LIFE. We all love, have loss, have joy and disappoints in our lives. We are all the same. In light of a recent super power invading a smaller neighboring country in hopes of expanding territory and power, The Band's Visit reminded me that we have more in common than we have differences. When we love our neighbors as ourseleves, the whole human race is better. We are not animals. We are not merely to survive life. We are to thrive in unity! Well done!

    Small, intimate, charming

by LuvBroadway on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Loved the musical. There were several important themes carried out with a small but powerful cast. And the musicians were phenomenal.

    What a fun night!

by Red Hare on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

This musical was so fun, uplifting, singable and entertaining. There is a wonderful undercurrent going on that holds true to life. But it also makes you joyous and happy. I highly recommend you see this show where ever you can!!!

    My review

by Godfather on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Overall, The Band's Visit was an enjoyable and entertaining performance. The positives were the humor and retro music. The negative was no English translation for the Arabic dialogue.

    Unlegible

by Mrs. Worldwide on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

If you are looking for a broadway super show, this is not for you. It’s a play. Not a show. Scenario is really well done and orchestra is fine tuned. All - with no exception - actors have an extremely heavy accent and when some of them sing, it is completely unlegible. Impossible to understand. The main female actress is the hardest - all her songs are just a blurb. The story behind is simple but the narrative doesn’t have closure. I won’t be watching again nor recommending to others.

    The Band’s Visit

by Lucy on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The story is amazing. Bringing people from 2 countries which are fearful of each other and watching the barriers of mistrust slowly disappear through the interactions was interesting to observe. I saw the movie before I went to the play which was good because I could follow the storyline. My only complaint was that the microphones needed to be louder. It was often difficult to hear the dialogue.

Not enough music but beautiful. Accents difficult to understand from 2nd level loge. Clever staging.

    Meh!

by Jaye on 3/9/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

I don’t know what the big fuss is about this show. The lead singer was mediocre. The songs were uninspired. The dialogue was very hard to hear and understand because of the accents. It also could’ve been mic’ed better; my friend and I sat in the mezzanine and we both had difficulty hearing what they were saying. I don’t recommend it. Skip this visit!

We could not here and not able to understand the entire dialogue I would like a credit in this performance for three tickets in the dress circle

    Delightful@

by C. F. on 3/8/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

The story was delightful the acting was wonderful! It was a little difficult to understand what the accents possibly if the microphones were louder? However Ticketmaster I would never recommend they checked me out properly and once the transaction was finished assigned seats that were nowhere near what I had requested and paid for and there was nothing I could do about it.

    Terrible

by Dona on 3/8/22San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

I paid premium prices for orchestra center seats $126 for each of the tickets and when we arrived we were seated to the far right of the orchestra. The ticket assistant at the theater said we purchased the tickets from a third party vendor and nothing could be done. Terrible acoustics and the dialogue was not discernible for one third of the play.
