THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

  • Good, but...

by Ladynaps on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 4 out of 5

First of all - DEVO was AMAZING. Their set was like a punk show in the very best way. They were tight, they sounded great and they were very entertaining. They also had an excellent video show. The B-52's were more of a mixed bag. Kate Pierson sounded fantastic - her voice was clear as a bell and she hit all those high notes better that someone 1/2 her age. Fred Schneider was really good - very engaging and fun. Cindy Wilson, on the other hand, didn't seem well (so unwell that I feel terrible saying anything). She seemed tired and out of it from the very beginning. And while her voice sounded pretty good when she sang alone, Kate Pierson's voice was so strong that it was uncomfortable to listen to them together. The PNC is a good venue - well-organized and with good sound and video effects.

  • Great Show

by Maria on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

I really had a great time at the show. Devo and the B-52s both had a great performance. All workers at the venue were very professional and friendly. They did a great job of setting up the lawn, while still leaving enough space for those who wanted to stand and dance.

  • Good stuff

by Whitewater on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen the B-52s several times since the 80's and they are just as exciting now as they were back then. Devo was great too.

  • Great show made greater by including Lene Lovich!

by LindaNJTKD on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

A fun time listening to music from my earlier days made even better by inviting Lene Lovich to open for everyone. I could have listened to her for an hour or more. She was fantastic. Devo was incredible and the B52s were terrific. I am glad I decided to go to the show and even more glad I got the seats in the back and didn't pay those outrageous prices at the orchestra level. I saw and heard just fine. Great show!

  • Lame venue and disappointed

by NR502 on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 2 out of 5

The performing artists were great. The venue is not very organized. Parking is horrible. You have to pay a premium price to park or walk a mile from the free parking lot. Only one gate entrance which took forever. Missed part of the show. Lack of signs and any personnel that really knew anything. I will never go to this venue again.

  • Great show. Great venue

B-52s and Devo were really great. They sounded fantastic. Just like they did on the past.

  • The B-52's performance

by Jeff on 10/7/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 3 out of 5

The B-52's put on an amazing performance. The tunes, performance, the music, incredible. Amazing job by them. Big drawback, it was way too short. They left out three or four other good songs including good stuff, channel Z and revolution Earth. I wish they played longer than 50 minutes. I was not impressed with Devo. I only knew three or four songs and they left out two songs that I liked, including coal mine and satisfaction. Lenne Lovech wasn't too bad. I just wish Devo played those two songs I liked and also the B-52s played another four or five songs, then the concert would've been perfect.

  • B-52s still going strong

by Scott on 10/6/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 5 out of 5

If you are a fan of the B-52s then you don't want to miss the Cosmic De-Evolution Tour. Great to see them "again". Enjoyed the show. They did not disappoint. Had a great play list. Band was solid. Hope they keep going. Devo was a bonus!

  • Delighted to attend...Souvenir clothing needs to work on.

by An 80s' kid on 10/6/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great and enjoyable. The opening artist, Lene Lovich, Devo, and The B-52s were great. Devo really held the concert. I wish the B-52s did at least 3 to 4 more songs. The souvenir clothing was not a good quality. I received a The Who concert T-shirt, and at that concert, the stitching, weight, and quality of their shirts were impressive. Disappointing for overpriced T-shirts at the B-52s concert. I hope they obtain better souvenir marketing vendors.

  • B52s are amazing

by So great on 10/5/25Rating: 5 out of 5

They may be older now but their voices and are as tight as they were in the 80s Great, great concert would definitely see them again!

  • we really enjoyed all three shows

by Jo on 10/5/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 5 out of 5

The music and stage presence for each band was the best. Lene Lovich & band that I've never heard of was surprisingly entertaining!Devo was better live than their cd that we listened to on the way home. The light show for Devo & The B-52's was most enjoyable. I wish the camera person could have shown the whole band and not just focusing on certain players. If there is a next time I'd like to be in one of the first five rows. Anyway we left very happy . We came to see The B-52's but loved all three! Food court people were friendly and attentive. The restrooms amazing long lines moved so fast.

  • fantastic

  • What a Cosmically Good Time

by Jackie on 10/5/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 5 out of 5

A fantastic experience from opening act to end! Devo was incredible! B-52’s gave a high energy performance! Highly recommend this concert if you get a chance to go!

  • B52s Nosedive

by Lester Bangs on 10/5/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 3 out of 5

Went to this show to see the B52s just one more time. I should have just stayed with my memories of past performances. Lena Lovich opened the show as what I would consider a dark horse appearance but delivered star quality engagement! Devo was definitely the star of the night. Not only did they seem 120% engaged with the audience but they put on a next level performance that was a retrospective of their albums including costumes! I love the B52s but am sad that they put on what was more of an opening act and didn’t feel present.

  • Pine Knob - B52s

by Duke of Doublecross on 10/1/25Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a big fan of the B52s for almost 50 years. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to see my in concert. They were the "Cat's Pajamas".

  • Great Show

by SuzeB on 9/29/25Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Originally, tickets for the lawn were $76 which was too much (imho) to pay for lawn seats. I was able to buy them for $30 "all in"so I purchased two tickets, and I'm glad I did. The show was amazing, and probably the last time I'd be able to see these bands. The only issue I ever have when I attend a concert at Pine Knob is the parking. There are plenty of people directing parking when I arrive, but no one directing parking when I exit. Other venues have people who help facilitate the process of exiting the parking lot, stopping some flow to allow for rows to enter the exit lanes, but I've never seen that at Pine Knob. The cost for two cans of beer was more than the cost of a tour shirt, which is excessive. Other than that, I enjoy attending shows at Pine Knob.

  • Venue was terrific and the event was spectacular!

by Mike on 9/29/25Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Fast, easy access to cold beverages. Staff were efficient and friendly. Parking was easy and painless. The B-52s have not lost anything! They were incredible and performed admirably. Had a BLAST! Thank you!

  • Party atmosphere

by Chris on 9/29/25Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was easy to get in and parking was convenient. Entry was quick and easy. The concert started right on time and the only line we waited in was for merchandise. The B-52s are still a great sounding band and we really enjoyed the show.

  • 52Devos

Great Show so much energy, Lovich was amazing. Hearing thousands of people sing Love Shack again was the best.
