THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

  • DEVO 100% B52’s 90%

by Bonzo on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great concert overall. DEVO was spot on. B52’s Cindy was struggling to hit the high notes at first but improved midway, sounded like she might have a sore throat. Still fantastic

  • Fun all night long

by CiciMaMa on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 5 out of 5

What a fun and happy concert! Everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along. B52s are still rockin!

  • B52s a class all their own

by Elle on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 5 out of 5

B52s have the same Energy they had 40yrs ago! They never disappoint no matter if it was in the 80s, 90s or 2025! Upbeat and fun!

  • Best Show Ever

by cp on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 4 out of 5

I was so impressed by the energy of the B52’s and Devo. Both acts showed that their music is timeless. Both were visually stunning and extremely energetic. The music I grew up with is still so relevant today. Sound was amazing and the videos were fantastic. I loved the video that explained how to behave and party responsibly.

  • Lots of fun!

by Bea on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve always loved the quirkiness of their music and the show does not disappoint. Loved it and they played all the songs I wanted to hear from Whammy to Rock Lobster!

  • Sound quality very poor

by Trader Jim on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 3 out of 5

The bands were both great but the sound system was turned up so loud that the drums and the bass were clipping heavily. So the sound was very distorted. Please hire a new sound crew that understands clipping and knows what they are doing. You need at least one EE on the crew.

  • Fun Show!

by Lorimidori on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 4 out of 5

Very fun nostalgic show from B52s! But DEVO blew us away! They were on fire! Venue is great but having been there 2 months prior there were a couple unexpected things. Premier parking was disorganized. They opened half until it filled up and were not helpful about it. After the show there some restrooms already closed.

  • Sound mixing needs Improvement

by JJ on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 4 out of 5

All the performers put on a great show. However, the sound mixing at the venue needs improvement as the bass and low frequencies were excessive and overpowered muddled everything else, decreasing the overall sound quality of the performers.

  • What I missed

by 80s dreams on 10/19/25Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 4 out of 5

I loved seeing the bands I listened to on the radio but missed live in the 80s

  • "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad!"

by FanOfFab4 on 10/19/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 3 out of 5

I love The B52s and in fact I met my wife dancing to "Rock Lobster"back in 1982 but on this night one of the members was not 100% on the stage. Cindy Wilson was in clear vocal distress on this night and she tried like heck to belt out her parts but it was a total struggle. Her spotlight song of "Give Me Back My Man"made me cringe at times and I felt bad for her. Kate and Fred were perfect as usual and the show was not bad but it certainly was not great. Let me state once again that I love this band but at this particular show Cindy was just not up to speed :(

  • awesome

So cool, they are still such great performers. Loved the nostalgia

  • The concert was GREAT!

    by Gary W on 10/17/25Xfinity Center - MansfieldRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the B-52s in the 80s, but never had the time to attend one of their concerts. Now, with more time available, I was able to see them in concert and had a blast. The sounds are just like the 80s, and the music hasn't skipped a beat!!

  • Love the B52s!

by Jeannie from New York on 10/16/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

The B52s have been one of my favorite bands for more than 40 years. They never disappoint their fans. It was a wonderful show at Jones Beach. They came out in full custom, sounded wonderful, and got everyone on their feet dancing. What more could you want from a great show?

  • Fantastic, but too short of a B52 set!

by Debi on 10/11/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 4 out of 5

JB Theater venue has had many improvements since my last show there. Impressive. Always love the view from the seats. The B52s were phenomenal, but the set was way too short. Devo was just okay, and many people left after Whip It, including us. Was surprised they were on stage last, because B52s blew them away as the true headliners. Just as well; we left and got home earlier.

  • Beautiful blast from the past feeling

  • Still rockin thu the wilderness

by Peabo on 10/9/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

A few years ago I attended a show at the Beacon Theater in NY City. The stop was one along their 'Farewell Tour', lol. So when I heard they were going to play at Jones Beach I was confused yet thrilled. However the night of the night of the show I found out they were not the Headliners & that DEVO was. Don't get me wrong part of why I bought the ticket was I had always wanted to see them but 'back in the day' their shows used to sell out fast. The B52'S were amazing Sunday night. They still have so much energy which is always contagious. I was in a section that didn't put up with standing up & dancing during a show that begs for movement and a lot of it the lack of dancing made me a little sad. Luckily the section next to me were riled up and were dancing and singing along. That section lifted my spirits mainly because so many of them were in their 20's & 30's. Which proved to me that the B52'S music will be loved through the ages. Who would have imagined one of the most wacky groups with the weirdest lyrics of any musicians I've ever heard would still be relevant. Of course they played all their famous hits with vocals that have not changed a bit. Kate & Fred hit their notes with ease and they held so many notes the audience was cheering way too early. How they held on so long was borderline exhausting but of course in a good way. I only wished they had been the Headliners because it seemed their set was shorter then it should have been and again their energy would have brought us all home revived, happy and wanting for more. In my opinion they are & will always be "The Happiness Party Band"EVER!! PS: the opening act for the show at the Beacon Theater was KC & The Sunshine Band. That was a perfect pairing for that show. They're still rocking pretty hard too.

  • The ultimate party band that's all you need to know

by Ray Ray on 10/9/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

Great night great show everything was perfect except how do you charge $23.00 for a beer

  • Bands were fine, seating was messed up.

by HeyJason18 on 10/9/25PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 3 out of 5

The B-52s, Devo & Lene were all fun & fine, despite their old age but what was messed up was that the box office at PCN Arts Center were selling last minute seats for cheap to fill out a "Wheelchair"area right SMACK in front of our view of the stag. It was in the main walk way aisle between sections 204 & 304. We were in the 2nd row in 304. It would of been a great view of the stair if they didn't give regular people chairs to place along the walkway railing right in front of us. So people that got there at the last minute got BETTER seats for cheaper than people who pre-bought their tickets thru Ticketmaster. & Blocked our view. This was totally MESSED UP!! 👎☹️👎

  • The final run

by Big Bob on 10/8/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

We brought a friend for probably his last concert and Although promoter was a douche and did not allow upgrade or exchange of tickets the performance was extraordinary…fantastic.

  • B-52’s Slayed at Jones Beach

by Hook on 10/8/25Northwell at Jones Beach Theater - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

What an incredible line-up !! Starting with DJ Cummerbund who really got the party started with his mind blowing mash-ups. Lene Lovich kept the party going and then WOW - B-52’s SLAYED !! Audience matched the bands high energy and the night was magical. Devo closed the show and sounded awesome too ! The best 80’s flashback of all time!! I didn’t want it to end. This show was simply amazing.
