THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

The historic Hollywood Bowl was the perfect venue to see the iconic B-52's perform. They were fun and upbeat and brought back lots of good memories. The only problem was that their set was too short.

  • Amazing!

by Tica on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Every performance was amazing Had such a great time, on my feet the whole time! They all sounded great and didn't miss a beat!

  • Amazing Show!

The B-52s were so great! They played all the hits and had the whole Hollywood Bowl dancing.

  • Best Party Band. Ever.

    by N.L. on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

The ONLY reason I’m not giving the Cosmic De-Evolution Tour five stars is that I wanted more. I mean, I get it. The B-52’s, Devo and Lene Lovich are all (or almost all) in their 70’s, so touring has to be exhausting. But they were all so good that when each set ended I was in shock. I take my hat off for the ladies of B52’s, in particular. Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson are still in top form vocally. Did they hit all the notes they hit in their heydey? No, but who could? In an age where so many of today’s artists lip sync and use backing tracks, I was doubly impressed that everything - vocals and instruments - was live. I can’t believe I waited this long to see the B52’s or Devo for the first time! Even if you have seen these guys perform before I’d wager it’s still worth it.

  • Energy is everything

by Shell on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

The event was so fun! Devo was the best. I enjoyed the B-52’s but their energy level could have been a lot better. It was like they were just going thru the motions. Like they have lost their passion for the music. The crowd was super cool!

  • Perfect concert for this venue

by magnabruin on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome. After all these years the B52's snd Devo still sound as good as I remember them. Lene Lovich did not dissapoint either. I hope they conyinue toruing for the foreseeable future.

  • Eighties!

by kayh on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

We had a wonderful evening at the Hollywood Bowl with the B52s and Devo. My friend and I danced the night away and sang along to music of our generation. Pre-show we had our picnic, sharing a table with people who could have been our long-time friends. I would like to add that the Besties tickets were too hard to access. it took me more that a few attempts to buy them, and my son gave up. Ticketmaster, please work on your site. It's really not very good.

  • Fun night at the bowl

by Debbie on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

The band sounded great, girls struggled a bit, but overall an enjoyable night listening to fun music.

  • Excellent show but it was not loud enough.

    by Taylormade90028 on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I had a great time. Devo and the B-52's are two of my all time favorite bands. I just wish the volume was a bit louder. Other than that I have no complaints.

  • Devo was great, b52s were meh

by Nick on 10/22/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Devo played a slightly shorter set than their normal shows, and they were awesome. They did some really great crowd work too. The b52s played a 6 song set that was really disappointing and extremely short. It also didn't help that I was in front of a group of insufferable people who's baritone voice drowned out the band and overtook the entire show while they denigrated the entire crowd and threw random insults around.

  • A magical night in Hollywood.

by MagicmanLVNV on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Walked up the hill from Loews and waited about 10 minutes to get through security. Had to check my bottle as the rules have changed since I visited a few years ago. Was able to pick it up as I left without delay. The center seats are by far the best for sound. Even in Sec. S, Row 3, the acoustics are excellent. My only concern are the exits. We were smashed together on ramps and escalators. In the future, I'd restrict the escalators to those with reasons to not use the paved trail below. Staff that thanked us as we left could have us thank them if they'd do some crowd control after the show ends. Like school zone Crossing Guards, please consider using flashlights to direct human traffic down steps and through a rather steep descent at points. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I want to personally thank Usher/LISA F. for her kind and courteous assistance.

  • Fun Time!

by Nikki on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

We got there early 5:30 when the doors opened! We bought Valet parking $90. because we didn't want to get stuck in the stacked parking. The Bowl was clean and the food selection not too bad, it was ok. They could do better with the food bags (too Big) and put the food (fries and chicken strips) in containers to avoid spilling out of the boat that it is served in. The sound was good but not loud enough!!!

  • 5 stars is for Devo

by Veronica on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

It's not that the B52s were bad or anything. It's just that Devo is so much more creative, entertaining and relevant and should have been the headliner. Actually it should have been just Devo. Not to shame the B52s, they are what they are. Maybe if they'd played first the place wouldn't have been half empty after. Of course it wouldn't because nobody would leave before Devo.

  • best concert of the year !!

  • Great venue and great show

by Joe on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The Hollywood Bowl does not disappoint. Great food and easy to access all food and beverage. Event personnel from the parking to entry and ushers were fantastic. Big shout out to Jason who confirmed “you can stand up” at a concert. I would seek out this venue. Wish they could keep Ticketmaster pricing in check as it’s getting speedy to see any show.

  • Lame Bowl

by Anthony mlad on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

B52s were great but I feel left short for the money we paid we deserve at least a hour and a half show and the sound was to low. I'm not a big fan of the bowl due to low volume and hope to see the B52s again in a small venue with a longer set.

  • A waste of money

by Jas on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

What a waste of time and money considering the B52s only played one measly hour and the location of my seats. I should have brought binoculars.

  • No Encore

by Kill Uncle on 10/21/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

i love lene lovich, but 10 songs and out!…. Devo was very precise with their song progression, they sort of did 1 encore song….. But NO encore songs from the B-52’s… really!!!…. Start the shows earlier, so each artist gets a proper set in…. Bus ride was great….:)
