THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

  • As always, best all-around venue in Atlanta area

by Michael H on 10/28/25Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been to concerts all over metro Atlanta, and Ameris remains the best venue for music of them all. From parking, to entry, to the concert experience, and exit, no one beats the people at Ameris. Keep on providing your guests many wonderful memories.

  • Cosmic De-evolution tour

by Frank on 10/28/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time seeing these bands live in concert and they were fantastic! I was even dressed in a Devo yellow suit which was so much fun! I needed a go-cart escort to and from the drop off location to the entrance of the seating area due to health issues. The sound quality and visuals were great as both groups put on a fantastic show! My wife didn't have any trouble dropping me off and picking me up in the designated areas. I would definitely come back for another concert.

  • Venue engages in too much security theater

by B-52s fan on 10/28/25Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - AlpharettaRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was awesome, the venue was over the top ridiculous with how much time they spent going through every little compartment of my tiny purse. Then, my husband set off the metal detector and they separated us, and he was told confusing commands to “go that way!” We never found what set off the metal detector, but then he had to be “wanded”, all while trying to hold blankets (cause it was 50 degrees) above his head. So chaotic and ridiculous. Plus, what are they looking for in my tiny purse!?!? I doubt I’ll be back to Amerisbank amphitheater.

  • Such a fun time!

    by Deb07 on 10/28/25Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was excellent, as always. Performers were very good and the B-52’s can still bring it! 🎶😎. Just wish they could improve the parking lot exit strategy.

  • Fun !!!

by Boo on 10/28/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Saw them with Devo in Charlotte on 10/24/25. They sounded great & had a lot of energy! Best part was ending with Rock Lobster (my fav) & having the lobster come on stage dancing was pretty cool !

  • So much fun!

by JDubs on 10/28/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The B-52s were awesome! I have been a huge fan of theirs for years, so it was a dream come true to finally see them in person. The opening act was really interesting (off-putting at first but super creative). The B-52s came on next, which I didn't expect, thinking they were the main act with many more hits than Devo. They are just iconic. Devo came on last and honestly I only was familiar with Whip It. We left before they finished. Over all, a great experience.

  • Great Show

  • Fun Show Great Performances

Lene Lovich was very good. Nice to hear her after many years. The B-52s were fun although Fred seemed a little tired. Devo was fantastic. Devo was definitely the star of the show and gave a powerhouse performance. So glad I got the see this show.

I grew up with Devo and B52's but had not seen them in a long time, Devo looked and seemed old with little energy. B52's however were awesome. Overall it was an enjoyable concert but my advice for Devo is ditch the gray beard and figure out how to look like an energy band instead of just mailing it in

  • Legendary night of fun

by Tommyboy on 10/28/25Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - AlpharettaRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the Cosmic Devolution Tour at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA last weekend and the show was incredibly fun! Lots of people dressed in their haz mat suits, energy “planters,” wigs, tie dye and other loud, exuberant outfits to welcome DEVO and the B-52s. DEVO opened the show and brought some incredible energy, visual effects a setlist of hits, fan favorites and deep cuts. Both DEVO and B-52s fans were up and out of their seats from start to finish, singing and dancing. It really was fun to see so many people getting off to DEVO. After a short break, the B-52s hit the stage and roared through their set that also had everyone on their feet while Cindy, Fred and Kate kept everyone thoroughly engaged with a fantastic set list. This was easily one of the best two-headline act shows that I’ve ever seen. So much positive energy coming from and stage and flowing right back from the crowd. Whether you are a casual fan or diehard spud or wig fancier, I recommend this show to everyone who like to have fun!!!

  • Original members showing age, but performances excellent!

by AreEffBee on 10/28/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Lene Lovich did a great job. Great performer. Voice has held up very well for her age. B-52''s were exciting. Most voices have held up well. Stage presence excellent. Replacement bass player and drummer are very good. Visuals on the screen added a lot to the show. DEVO was very impressive. There were a couple of songs (like Satisfaction) I would have liked to have heard, and there were a couple of songs I wasn't familiar with, even though I have most of their albums. Visuals on the screen were fantastic. The drummer was really great! They almost got too political, which took the edge off of the enjoyment. The energy and talent of the original band members was very impressive, and the new guitar player fit right in. Overall, I really enjoyed the show, especially sitting in the middle of about the fifth row. I do not feel it was quite a good value though, given the very high ticket price.

  • Lene Lovich - B-52’s - DEVO

by Great seeing 3 legends on 10/28/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Great sound & good times. Fairly well controlled exits. Friendly staff. Parking wasn’t too bad with ways to get to wherever even after a wrong turn.

  • Excellent show!

by Heaf on 10/27/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen the B-52s a few times over the years, and I was completely impressed that the number 1 party band in the world is still able to energize their crowd. This was a great show!

  • Awesome three part show

by Living in Carolina on 10/27/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Lena Lovich and Devo making this another chance to check off acts that I missed in the past. Lena was unconventional as expected but her band was very tight and sounded great and Lena's voice held up well. The B52s show was great. I have seen the band several times over the past decade but this was probably the best sounding show of any I have seen. The ladies were into the performance far more than the past two shows and though Fred does not move around much anymore his vocals were solid. Devo were a sight with an interesting show and sounded extraordinary especially considering most members are in their mid 70's. The night moved quickly as they each performed shorter shows of easily recognizable numbers. Weather was cool and comfortable. A truly great show and night.

  • B52’s

The B52’s never disappoint. Saw the show in Charlotte, NC on Friday October 24th. Loved the show!

  • B-52s were great!

by Terry on 10/27/25PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The B52s were great. The musicians were fantastic and vocals were as good as ever. They didn’t play very long and there was no encore, but really enjoyed the performance. I was never a big Devo fan, but they were interesting and were the third act, so we left a little early. My wife and I had a small amount of food and two beers for $90 which is ridiculous even with inflation. It was still a great time and glad we went!
