THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

  • The B-2s Rock the house!

by Rusty Roof on 4/15/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Packed house of fans that stayed on their feet most of the show. Entertaining, all the hits, great back-drop videos, animation and photos enhanced the show. Fred, Kate and Cindy were in top form and really brought the house down. Sidenote: Backing band included Great guitarist, drummer, keyboardist and lady on bass kept the energy and kinetic beat.

  • Nothing but FUN!

by CNDOW on 4/15/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

They brought incredible energy and all the quirky fun they're known for. Seriously, they haven't lost a step. Fred, Kate, and Cindy sounded great together, hitting all those classic harmonies. The place went wild for "Love Shack"– everyone was singing and dancing. And "Rock Lobster"? Pure B-52s craziness, just awesome. They played other great stuff too, like opening with planet Clair, Private Idaho"and "Roam." The band looked like they were having a total blast, and the vibe was super fun and colorful. It was just a feel-good night packed with great tunes. If you wanted to dance and have a good time, this was the show. The B-52s still know how to throw a party!

  • Great Show

by Masa on 4/15/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The B-52’s concert at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas was a great show. The show started with a warm-up act with DJ Cumberbund. This DJ was a quirky guy who performed in a lederhosen costume. This guy’s mix was a very entertaining 80’s mash-up along with a cool video to go along with it. When the B-52’s came onstage they gave the ok to dance our butts off and we did. They performed all their hits and sounded fantastic. Of course they are much older now, just like the crowd there to see them and they did not disappoint. Overall we loved the show and the venue and would love to go back to the Venetian to enjoy another concert.

Fabulous first night performance for their latest stint at The Venetian. A lovely venue and the show was great, with Fred, Cindy and Kate all belying their ages. The backing back were also very tight, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. I wish I could see them every time they played!

  • Voices are still amazing

by Nina on 4/14/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The B52's were awesome; amazing voices - still hit all of their classics and with power and spot on. DJ was supposed to open but got sick so a video opener was played. The concert was short and I did wish they had played a few more songs that were some of my favs from old albums. It was FUN!

Been listening to this group since their debut album. First time seeing them in person. So sorry that Ricky had passed, but the band is as cohesive as ever and seemed to really be having a good time. Glad to see it all continuing. Keep on Lobstering. ;-)

  • The Perfect Concert Experience

by Nicky on 11/25/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We saw the B52s at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. We left our hotel room a half hour before the show started, no waiting to get in and back to our room in 25 minutes after the show ended. That included buying a shirt. The perfect way to see a great show. The hotel was grand and in walking distance to Sphere which also was awesome. I would see the B52s again most certainly. They sounded exactly as on record, the theatre was beautiful and sold out. They had fun too it seemed.

  • ALWAYS FABULOUS!

by Shanana on 11/22/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

What can I say? The B52s show is always filled with the most fun ever! Their songs, dancing and videos on the big screen are for old and young alike. We always go when they are here in Las Vegas because we KNOW it will be such a great show and mixing up and adding new songs every time is what makes it so original. The opener, DJ Cummerbund, is so talented and again, for everyone ! Also, the venue at the Venetian is spectacular and all seats have a view.
