About

THE B-52S IN CONCERT:

Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

  • Amazing

by Cafasco on 11/19/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome show! Loved the song set, Planet Clair, Private Idaho, Rock Lobster, and of course Rome and Love Shack. Wished they could have worked in June Bug and Bush Fire. Sound was excellent, super tight performance! Hope to see them again!

  • B-52s = Fun night

by nmilazzo on 11/19/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

They still got it. A fun filled dance party with all the hits. The B-52s know their audience and exploit their catalog for max fun. Though they might not move like they did in the 80s, they still sound great. Special shout out to Cindy Wilson who still moves well and can really belt it out. She doesn't look, sound or dance much differently than 30 years ago. If you're looking for profound, deep and reflective music - go see U2. Want a really fun dance party - go see the B-52s before they hang it up.

Opening DJ was great! B52s were good, just wished they played a few other old hits.

  • Better than I ever expected

by Dave on 11/19/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Took a friend who 30 years my junior and I think he enjoyed the show more than I did, and I love it. All three of there voices were just perfect, just as I remember.

  • B52s have NO ENERGY

by Michael M on 11/18/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

The Concert was OK. I felt like there was very low energy...were they going to fall asleep? Who knows. Only the red head had any energy. Sure would have liked to have seen them 30 years ago. And the warmup: DJ Cumberland? OMG get rid of that guy. Let's get a real warm up band or skip the warm-up all together.

  • Best night ever!

The b-52s were spot on. Our seats were great. They sang songs. They haven't sang in years since I've seen them. I love the merchandise I bought. The venue was amazing. Best night ever

  • Blast from the Past!

by Carl on 11/18/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The B-52s did not disappoint! High energy, great music, and strong voices! A real treat. The opening act, DJ Cummerbund was fabulous. His mix of music was sensational!

  • B52s.

by Pete on 11/17/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Our seats were perfect! 5 rows back from the stage, front and center! It was our first and probably will be the only time seeing the B52s because I’m not sure how much longer they will keep performing. It was an entertaining show and I’m glad that we were able to see them before they completely retire. 😎

The B-52's were really good. They aren't young anymore, but they did an Excellent performance. It brought us back to the 80's. I highly recommend this to the 50 Plus Crowd.

  • Fun, fashionable and legendary.

by Dancing my butt off on 11/16/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 2nd time seeing them and let me tell you, it was amazing. We are tempted to go a third time, this band to me they are legends, and you can definitely go and take the whole family with you to watch this show, it's super fun and some people even dress up for the event and it was really nice being around other fans dancing and complimenting each other's outfits. The only complaint I have is I wish there was more room to dance the seats are a bit tight and I wish they had meet and greets I would give anything to meet them.

  • B52s still got pipes

by Terri on 11/16/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Had a lot of fun! Great show, chance of my life to finally see the B52s!

  • Great Fun, Band still on form.

by John on 11/16/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I'm not the world's biggest fan of the B52's, truth be told I was only there as my partner is a huge fan. But they impressed me a lot, their voices are still Spot on (especially Kate Pierson) and it's all round good time fun and forgetting about the world for an hour or two. That's not to imply they are just a novelty act as the musicianship was first rate. Don't think they are playing much these days either, so if you're a fan, hurry up!

  • Absolutely fantastic

Excellent venue. Not a bad seat in the house! So fun seeing the B-52's! It was a bucket list since Love Shack has been my all time favorite song! Danced almost the whole concert!

Even I you don’t love the B 52’s you would have had a GREAT time! The put in a FANTASTIC show!!

  • Good, but the Show did not start until9:15.!!

by JP on 11/16/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The show started at 8 PM in my opinion, but a DJ came out at 8:30 and played videos for 30 minutes. Completely unnecessary, then after he was gone they played another 15 minutes videos while the band was setting up. Did not start 9:15 PM!!!!
