The Australian Bee Gees (Vegas) on Tour

With the untimely passings of Maurice Gibb in 2003 and his brother Robin in 2012, the original Bee Gees are sadly no more. But you can still experience all of the group's biggest hits — from their breakthrough ‘60s pop ballads to their ‘70s disco classics to their ‘90s comeback anthems — in concert, thanks to this expert tribute act hailing from the Gibbs' home continent. Not only do the Australian Bee Gees sound just like their idols, they look a lot like them too: guitarist Michael Clift sports positively Barry-esque mane, facial hair and (thanks to dental prosthetics) teeth; keyboardist Wayne Hosking does Maurice proud with a fedora and tidy beard; and vocalist David Scott is a dead ringer for Robin in his shaded specs. The house band at Las Vegas' Excalibur Hotel and Casino, The Australian Bee Gees ensure that any day of the week is ripe for Saturday-night fever.

The Australian Bee Gees (Vegas) Background

While they've ably filled the void left by the brothers Gibb, the roots of the Australian Bee Gees date back to when the actual Bee Gees were still active. After playing their own original music — and noticing the crowds being pulled by the tribute acts they sometimes played with — the trio of Michael Clift, Wayne Hosking and David Scott decided to switch lanes in 1996 and become "Barry," "Maurice" and "Robin" in a tribute act they dubbed The Australian Bee Gees. While the Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever hits anchored the set list, the ABGs approached their show with a true connoisseur's eye to the band's deep back catalog, giving equal weight to the group's many pre-disco singles. Once the ABGs landed in Vegas in 2011 for an indefinite run, the performance evolved into a multimedia experience complete with videos, costume changes, choreography and period-specific sets. The show has also spawned an international touring production that's visited over 50 countries.

We had a good time seeing these guys, it was our first time seeing them, they did a lot of The Bee Gees songs , they sounded good, were entertaining and between songs they did some jokes too, overall it was very good, we told some family members to come see them next time they are here.

The Australian Bee Gees sounded so much like the original brothers, it’s uncanny. They played the parts perfectly. Mo as the funny guy that he was and Robin, quiet and perfect singing. Barry had the high falsetto down pat like the real Barry. Everyone was dancing and clapping and singing along. I highly recommend this show! They met the audience after the show which was really nice.

  • The show was fun and the Bee Gees were great!

The Bee Gees did an awesome job of representing the real Bee Gees. They were funny, but most importantly they captured the essence of the songs. It brought me back to when I would listen to them on the radio or in my room on my record player. I loved them before Saturday Night Fever but loved them even more after Saturday Night Fever came out.

So fun! They looked the part and sang with perfect harmony together. They sounded just like the original BeeGees. We sang along with the songs which we all knew and got up and danced to a few as well. Every seat was a great seat in this intimate theatre.

  • Not Good

The show was way overpriced I paid $200 for two people and they were selling them for $40 just because I got tickets early I had to pay higher price the showroom was not good and the seats was bad very uncomfortable but the boys did very well on the show

  • Fabulous & entertaining

We loved the show so much we went back to see it a second time. Great entertainment sounds so much like original Bee Gee’s and we are huge fans of the Bee Gee’s. There was some confusion on why there was someone different doing Barry’s part. He was good too but feels like the other gentleman was a bit better. I would be Leary going back afraid there could be another switch and would the show be as good? I believe you have several different group members playing the parts which I am sure there is a reason, but when you see the group for the first time and they were so good, that is who you would like to see again if you return to the show! PS Australian Bee Gee’s haven’t updated their Instagram since 2013! (Saw the show at Excalibur Las Vegas.)
