The Tennessee Titans used to be called the Houston Oilers — one of the charter teams of the AFL. The Oilers won the first two AFL championships, in 1960 and 1961. In 1997, the Oilers moved to Tennessee, becoming the Tennessee Oilers, before changing their name to the Tennessee Titans in 1999.

Check out the Nissan Stadium seating chart here.

The Tennessee Titans’ biggest rivals are the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts.

The Tennessee Titans played their first and only Super Bowl on January 30, 2000, against the St. Louis Rams. Unfortunately, the Titans were defeated (23-16) in a game that is considered by many to be an all-time classic. Super Bowl XXXIV is also famous for being referred to as the "Dot-Com Super Bowl" due to the heavy amount of dot-com ads.

    Best Game EVER!!~

by lenben on 11/30/09LP Field - Nashville

Wow. Right up there with The Music City Miracle. Vince Young really had a great day, he led his team on a 99 yard game winning touchdown drive and won the game with six seconds left on the clock. VY Rocks!

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to be at this Titans classic. Vince Young to Britt will live forever in my mind. Also seeing my girlfriend become a football fan after watching the great, down-to-the-wire action. Go Titans-5 in a row!!!!

    last 6 seconds

    by gigi1973 on 11/30/09LP Field - Nashville

What an amazing play at the end of that game!! I was in knots afraid it was over and the Titans had wasted their chances to make that TD...then....the last 6 seconds the play came thru!!! Whoooo hoooo!! Not to mention..when is the last time you saw a 99 yd drive?

The game was good. It takes too long to get through the gate. They need a better plan for letting people in. Parking is a chore. But what an exciting finish to the football game!

    Great Game!

    by Blueyez1227 on 11/30/09LP Field - Nashville

The game was rescheduled form 12:00 to 3:15 and I was not informed, although i should have checked before i went. There were no signs that said what time the gates opened (i.e. "gates open 2 hours prior to event") so with the time being changed i had no idea. Other than the time mishap the game was great, the food was mideocher and overpriced as usual but overall a great experience and will do it again!

Titans game, on a hot November day

    by TomT11 on 11/16/09LP Field - Nashville

This is a really nice, wide open stadium. At 74 degrees, it was kind of hot for November football, but certainly nice to be sitting outside. I visited Nashville on a weekend where there were SEC and NHL games also occuring, and it seemed fans from all over were in attendance, but the Titan fans were in force and fully behind their team. Like around all stadiums, traffic builds, but Nashville seems to handle it nicely. The crowd was great--I had grandparents on one side of me, college students on the other, and a father with young kids behind me. The crowd was loud, into their team, but never rude or rowdy. I had a good burger from...well, I forgot the name, but they had a stand behind each end zone... Prices seemed reasonable. The Titans won big (over the Bills). One gripe (and I would have known this had I checked the team's stadium web site), but backpacks weren't allowed. I had a small backpack and was not allowed to bring it in to the game. As I was heading to the airport straight from the game, this made things awkward... I was at another NFL stadium earlier in the season, and I liked that they had separate security lines for people carrying nothing and those with backpacks/handbags, etc. I would like to see other stadiums adopt this policy. Good time otherwise.

Chris Johnson showed up to play

by jrobbie on 9/22/09LP Field - Nashville

Chris Johnson did his part and showed up to play. Although the Titans should have won the game, it was close. The first two games have been close and they need to regroup and get ready for the Jets which have been playing good. Go Titans and bring on you "A" game next week. I love some good football. I'm looking forward to the Indianapolis Colts game where I will have my face in the place.

The most exciting controversal game I have ever seen..Too bad it had to end in a loss for the Titans..Great job Chris Johnson..But one man can not win the game.. I would like to see V.Y. back in the game..I think he's paid his due's and is ready to prove himself and should be given the chance.. Just this Gandma's opinion..LOVE YA TITANS!!!!!!
