    What a Fabulous Bonus!

by NineBeans on 7/15/10Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

I took my boyfriend to see Taj Mahal because he's been a fan for 35 years and I loved it. The best part was finding out at the very start that the warm up musician was MY favorite, none other than Willie Porter (who didn't get to play nearly enough). I would have loved to have the two play something together but alas, it wasn't to be. The concert was terrific and I'll go again and get the same seats in the front row! Fun day at the zoo too.

    Taj Mahal

by thisfieldisapain on 7/12/10Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

I love Taj Mahal but this one was a bit disappointing. I did like that he was configured as a trio and more focused on the blues than usual; no island/world music stuff to speak off. He played well but his set was very short, about one hour with only one encore. It is the first time ever I have seen an act end ~20 minutes before the city-enforced 100pm curfew at this location. It was like dining a a nice reastaurant, loving the appetizer and then being ushered out before you could get to the second bite of your nice steak.

    Taj Mahal was awesome

by tootsrider on 7/2/10Mountain View Plaza at Snoqualmie Casino - Snoqualmie

was pleased with the venue, it was my first time there. Taj Mahal Trio was exactly what I expected, excellent in every way. John Mayall was terrific, better than when I saw him years ago.

    Uh Huh, Mm-Hmm.

by GIBSONES335 on 5/10/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Wow! What an experience! The Bear's Den. What a venue! For anyone out there, who's up for a gig that's intimate and interactive, then I encourage you to head to the Seneca Casino. You literally feel as if you're on top of the stage, within feet of the performer. Of course, Taj did not disappoint. He was in stellar form! Full of life, humour, engaging the audience with his bumps and grinds, he was fantastic! I have seen Taj a few times before, in a few different countries, but this was the Taj Mahal show I had always wanted to see! Full of blues numbers, old favourites, and new tunes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was an especially nice contrast to see him with the Trio after seeing him last summer with his Phantom Blues Band as part of The Bontaj Roulet. A totally different vibe. He shows up and delivers.

Taj Mahal was great -smooth and foot tapping

by IslandgirlLori on 5/10/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

The Bear's Den is a great venue to see most any concert and the vibe and smooth rythems of Taj Mahal warmed up a very cold May evening. The room is comfortable and has good acoustics. The band was great and he was on top of his game. Had a blast.

Taj Mahal made everyone very happy !

by CaptB on 5/9/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Taj Mahal made his fans very happy with a show full of positive feel good music. He made his fans stand ,clap and sing along to all of his show. Everybody in the audience was under the spell of folk blues with a African touch he played for us. The call and answer parts of the show had a minester and choir feel that took the audience to being a united group that didn't want the show to end. This may have been the best show in Western New York this year.

    Solid blues show

by mrjonasm on 5/9/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Bear's den is a nice small club size venue. Taj played a great set, and was involved with the crowd. He even did a signing after the show. See him if you get the chance.

Susan was over the top and Taj was great

by Tonydo on 7/22/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

Susan Tedeschi's new band along with her amazing voice and great guitar playing was as good a blues performance that I've seen. I could have listened all night. Taj Mahal although very different than Susan was just plain entertaining with his diversity and story telling it made for a terrific evening.

    by Chasefinn12 on 7/18/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

I went to the show to see Susan Tedeschi. I was pleasantly surprised with Taj Mahal , whom I had never heard of. He is a talented musician and enjoyable to listen to. The show together went on for over 3 hours. They both love to play and perform.

Susan and Taj played a great show

by SignorBorgnoni on 7/18/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

The event was teriffic. Susan and her new band were top shelf. Taj is a true blues singer. If I were to have any complaints they would be, I wish Taj Mahal brought a larger band and the the Eastman Theater venue was a little warm and stuffy. All told , this was a great show.

Taj Mahal & Susan Tedeschi - Great Show

by Zinker on 7/16/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

Have seen Susan many times and she never disappoints, first time seeing Taj Mahal, music was great and he is entertaining with his stories! Found the ushers to be annoying at best, will not visit the Eastman theatre again, too many other great venues out there.

Susan Tedeschi was fantastic. Taj Mahal was good.

by Inchy on 7/16/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

Taj Mahal should have been first. His music was not as big as hers. She rocked the house.

    Taj Mahal/Susan Tedeschi

by mudking on 7/15/09Eastman Theatre - Rochester

The concert was great, especially Susan Tedeschi. Her band was amazing, and Susan was outstanding. The energy was through the roof for her whole set. Her voice was great, and she can shred on the guitar. Taj Mahal was great, but was a little more mellow than Susan, and as a result, was a bit of a letdown. Taj Mahal was funny, and his music was as good as I expected. He played some favorites and some songs I didn't know, and they were all very enjoyable. Maybe it was just the combination and order of appearance that left me a little down. I think had Taj opened up for Susan, or if he had a different opening act, it might have been more enjoyable (but I'm extremely glad that Susan was his opening act - I've loved her music for years). All in all, the concert was great, and I would definitely recommend it.
