About

Exciting news for fans going to Buddy’s sold out shows at Palais Theatre, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram has been announced as the support act.

That means they’ll get to see the next generation of American blues artists opening for the last of the greats.

Ingram’s journey began in the 662 in the city of Clarksdale, in Coahoma County, Mississippi, just ten miles from the legendary crossroads of Highways 61 and 49. Born to a musical family, he fell in love with music as a small child, initially playing drums and then bass. At a young age, he got his first guitar and quickly soaked up music from Robert Johnson to Lightnin’ Hopkins, from B.B. King to Muddy Waters, from Jimi Hendrix to Prince, but all the while developing his own sound and style.

Since the release of Kingfish, his Grammy-nominated 2019 Alligator Records debut, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation.

662 is the next chapter in the still-unfolding story of Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. He describes 662 as his own personal journey, a story that sits upon the legacy of his influential blues elders. The songs—reflecting his life in and away from his home in the Delta—speak to universal truths, as well as to similar experiences shared by his large and growing multi-generational, multi-cultural fan base. From the blistering, hometown title track, 662, to the irresistible She Calls Me Kingfish to the slow, soulful and poignant Another Life Goes By to the funky truth-telling Too Young To Remember662 overflows with hard-hitting songs, jaw-dropping guitar work and deep, soul-possessed vocals. NPR Music says Ingram’s playing is “astounding…it’s almost like he’s singing through the guitar.”

    Awesome Christone Kingfish Ingram show

by Paul on 3/26/24TempleLive Wichita - Wichita

Kingfish put on a great show. Best part was when halfway through the show, he left the stage and a couple minutes later, he came from the back of the floor and walked through the crowd as he played his guitar. We hope he comes back to Wichita!

A night of great blues music! From the opener Dylan Triplett all the way to Christone Kingfish, the vibe was electric and engaging. Christone even came off stage and walked through the floor playing and gave his fans an up close personal music experience. Very good show.

After seeing Kingfish on 60 Minutes, I finally found a tour stop compatible with my schedule. I’ve been fortunate to see several world class guitarists and “Kingfish” is likely the best guitarist I’ve ever seen live. Outstanding performance!!

Kingfish was good. Unadvertised opening act was unwanted

by Doug on 3/11/24The Observatory North Park - San Diego

The big downside to me was that at 8 o'clock someone came on stage to play. I thought Kingfish was going to come out during the first song. I realized this was an opening act. Nowhere in the information about the concert did it say there was an opening act. I didn't know who the guy was. He said his name, but I couldn't understand him. The day after the concert I Googled around and it took me a while to find out who he was. I didn't care, but I wanted to see if there was any information. I didn't appreciate wasting an hour of my time to endure an opening act that I didn't really care for. I'm certainly familiar with opening acts, but they should be advertised, not kept as a surprise. I could have come to the show 2 hours later than I did. The opening act wasted my time. And I had to stand on a concrete floor for 2 more hours. Kingfish was very good. Unfortunately, I had to leave before he was finished since I had not planned on a one hour opening act. My 3 star rating is a bit unfair to him, but it reflects my dissatisfaction with the unadvertised and unwanted opening act.

    Good value for great music

by SD Bill on 3/10/24The Observatory North Park - San Diego

I attended the Kingfish Ingram concert at the Observatory. The best things about the concert were (1) Price (2) Quality of the performer. The Observatory is a great venue, from the free parking across the street to the easy entrance. Overall, a hassle-free night out listening to a great up and coming Blues guitarist.
