    Bluegrass and Beethoven - Breathtaking

by Ruffin Stepp on 3/13/20Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The Symphony and Lubben Bros combined for a unique, entertaining, and to be frank - meaningful evening of music. The SOA is always on point - the pleasant surprise was the soulful lyrics of the original Lubben Bros music AND their professional performance chops. Quality evening! Love to see more of this type of performance!

    The Magic of Music

by THEONA on 7/25/19Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I am 8 years old. This was my first time attending a symphony. Before attending the program I familiarize myself with the different instruments. My mother and I sat eight rows from the stage. I felt as though I could reach out and touch the instruments. The conductors were energetic and entertaining. My favorite instrument was the xylophone. When I close my eyes I can still hear the beautiful sounds in my head. I look forward to my next visit.

    Best for last

by Helicity on 5/3/19Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The orchestra's performance of the first three works was "sleepy" and not only in the audience. But, I give five stars because Ms. Dreyfus and Mr. Dicterow performed the fourth and final piece and were amazing, and they lifted the otherwise uninspired orchestra. The last piece was worth the price of admission. - Excellent performance venue.

    Amazing music, immaculately performed!

by Howard69 on 7/24/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The musicians were super talented, the musical compositions brilliant (of course including works from the masters), and I bought the first CD I've purchased in a decade!

This was our first visit to the venue. There were great acoustics and a small theater feeling. Quite a nice place for musical events.

    Amazing talent

by Ckeledjian on 2/23/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

What an amazing evening in south florida! The orchestra was great, good program, and watch out for soprano Maria Aleida, she will take your breath away with her super human voice and her perfect pitch and control. Her voice will thrill your bones without mic even if you sat in last row. That's also thanks to the perfect dimensions and acoustics of the Amaturo Hall, which provides perfect reverb, a opposed to other venues that have too much echo like the Miami Knight Hall. I'll sign for everything in this venue and this orchestra, and anything where Miss Aleida sings

    Great concert!

by clw5255 on 8/12/17Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This was our first time attending the Symphony of the Americas. We expected a good concert and what we got was a great evening of music. The choices were diverse and performances stellar. Seats are good anywhere in the Amaturo, but, consider buying early so that you can choose how close you want to be to see as well as you can hear. We like to see the musicians hands.

    Wonderful Variety

by AgostinoA on 8/9/17FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

I attend many performances of classical music and this was one of the best programs I have ever attended. The blend of familiar and new pieces from different periods, including some that were new to me, made a most satisfying evening. And the ticket cost was beyond reasonable.

    Holiday Magic is forgettable

by Wussgirl on 12/14/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

We have attended this concert for years now, but this one was the worst, especially compared to the others. The Symphony has lowered it's standards. The two singers did not meet our expectations, from what we have previously seen, and there was a smaller orchestra this time, with many new faces. The Christmas photos displayed throughout the concert were barely legible. Additionally, Maestro was somewhat rude at the end when he just said "bye bye," to the audience. What about saying "Happy Holidays" and turning on the house lights when you're done? We have been attending the Symphony for years, as partial subscribers, but it is now doubtful we will return. It's time Maestro turns over the baton.
