Sweet Honey In the Rock Tickets

Extremely talented, disciplined, spirit-filled, and satisfying vocal performance! So many wonderful gifts on one stage. A must see!

Sweet Honey did not disappoint. They delivered a solid performance. I especially enjoyed the additions of the new singer and the "honey man" on bass.

Have been a devoted fan for 41 years [am 71yo] and understand "evolving" and change in performing artists repertoire BUT, this performance had few moments of "glorious". I have always described Sweet Honey as "lifting me out of my chair", but there were too few of those moments this time. Too much bass player solo, too many songs with only jazziness,,only a few moments of voices soaring. Next time, Sweet Honey", please throw a few "bones" to your traditional fans like "Upper Room" "Seven Day Kiss" "Jacobs Ladder". And for encore, asking for request from audience would have been nicer than the new jazz/be bop version of "Silent Night" .Please don't turn your backs on all of your roots. I will wait a few years before coming back to another performance of SWEET HONEY"

I have been a long term fan of Sweet Honey and have really loved their concerts. This is the first one I have attended without Dr. Ysaye Barnwell and she was truly missed. She is such a power house - irreplaceable, but I understand they must move forward. Even when Bernice Reagon left I missed her, but did not realize how much until seeing this new formation and how lacking they were in the story telling. Greed did not have the same grit as Bernice and the repertoire in general left me confused - 40 years of music and you cover Marvin Gaye? The new members have excellent voices, but I am not hearing the harmonies of the long standing group. I guess this will come in time. However, overall, I enjoyed the concert when I released expectations of hearing the group I have loved for all these years and accepted the group they are today.

The performance surpassed my expectations. The singing was superb!

The performance was simply amazing. The vocal ranges of the performers were extraordinary. In addition to the voice quality of the singers, I appreciated the selections that were performed. The musical selections were very appropriate for the holiday season and more importantly appropriate considering the tribute to Nelson Mandela in light of his recent passing. The performance was excellent and although the length of it exceeded an hour and a half without an intermission, I could have listened for hours. The audience participation during the performance was a wonderful way for the group to connect with the audience. All in all. a show that was more than a performance, it was an illuminating experience.

What wonderful night of healing and soul stirring music! These women...all of them put there heart and love into their performance. They connect and weave a story of life that we all can relate to. I was blessed to be there!

The concert was amazing. Sweet Honey couldn't have been better! The seating at the Lodge however was not very good. The chairs were placed too close together.

If I had but one word to describe the performance of Sweet Honey in the Rock, it would be AWESOME!! I have seen them many times before but this performance was solid gold.

Sweet Honey in the Rock was a great performance. Saw them in D.C. at the Howard Theater. It was a wonderful production and they had a great band.

I have enjoyed Sweet Honey for a long time and felt great hearing them & experiencing their show. I also am happy to support artists who are involved in their community.

Amazing! 5 women with no other accompaniment, rousing an entire room of people to clap and dance. Rhythms and harmonies like a jazz combo with a variety of styles of music. Fantastic voices with a wide range of abilities.

I loved the show. I carried someone with me who had never heard of them before and he was blown away. It was a wonderful show and everyone at the Williamsburg Lodge was great

The Women Rocked!! I saw Dr. Barnwell in passing and had to tell her how muched I loved the group. She was most gracious.

The concert was beautiful! The women in Sweet Honey are gifted and share so much wealth in culture and art. Not to be missed!

This is the best women's accupella group that there ever was! They still got what it takes after 39 years to put on an inspiring phenomenal show that involves the whole audience. They are gorgeous, political, radical goddesses!!!!! I recommend them highly....

I saw six African Queens take the stage tonight and they transported the entire audience to Africa and throughout the United States. I have listened to Sweet Honey in the Rock for over thirty years and this was the first time I've seen them in concert. They connected with their audience on not just the entertainment level, but at the spiritual level as well. I go to a lot of concerts, but this one *by far* was the best concert I've seen in at least 10 years.
