    Wonderful experience

by LindaD on 2/4/19Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

This show was fabulous. The ballerinas were exceptional. I took my two granddaughters since they both take ballet. They were so impressed by their dancing. We can't wait to see another show soon.

My first live ballet performance - it was amazing. The music, dancing, the costumes and the theater delivered an outstanding experience.

    Amazing

    by A. on 1/22/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Very good ballet. Loved it! The only thing was that the stage in Waukegan was too small for this ballet. They had so many people and it would have been even more beautiful on large stage.

It would be great if a live orchestra presented. Overall was great.

Stunning traditional version of Swan Lake

    by D. J. on 1/22/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Every detail was marvelous. The costumes, the set, and the choreography. I could see that each movement was purposeful and well executed. I can’t believe this wasn’t performed downtown. How lucky we were to experience this beautiful ballet in Waukegan.

    Excellent show!

by Foxy on 1/22/19Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

This show is spectacular and a must see. It is well worth the price. I commend all the dancers! They did excellent. My only slight disappointment was the seating. Would have preferred the middle balcony row.

    First Ballet Experience

by DavidDINO on 1/21/19The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

Was delighted for the opportunity for my wife and I to experience Tchaikovsky's majestic Swan Lake as performed by the National Ballet of Odessa in the beautiful Lyric Theatre. Am glad for some prior research into the storyline of this classical pageantry. Compared to YouTube ballet presentations, the Odessa troupe seemed to my untrained eye to perform swan episodes most gracefully. Every movement appeared in perfect choreography and synchrony with the musical score. Our only regrets were box seat positions that obstructed almost a third of the stage. The soundtrack wasn't as crisp as expected (lacking high note presence; is this typical of Lyric acoustics?). Had hoped to obtain a program to identify performers, but found none available.

    Could have been better

by R. J. on 1/20/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

As a novice in the ballet world, I can’t really judge their technique, but I was sitting close enough to think that the casting could have been better. The principle dancer was probably in his 40’s when he was representing a 21 year old prince. It could have been better, maybe I was expecting too much. Lead ballerina was a bright spot.

    Once in a life time.

by Torri on 1/20/19Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The dancers where amazing! There could have been more difficult moves that would have put it over the top. It was a once in a life time experience would not go a second time in my life.

    goose puddle

    by W. W. on 1/19/19The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

For most of the performance, the dancers were just going through the motions of performing a ballet. The notable exception was the male dancer performing the role of court jester. The female dancers were disturbingly emaciated. I could see the boney marks of the sternums, ribs, and the arms looked like skin on top of bone. if this had been a show horse performance, someone would have called PETA.

    Excellent Performance

by S. on 1/19/19The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

Ballet performance was exquisite. However, the 4 intermissions were a little too long. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Great performance, but bad seats

by Tommy on 1/18/19The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

The performance by the National Ballet Theatre of Odessa was spectacular. A live orchestra would have made it absolutely perfect, but it's understandable that they can't tour with an orchestra as well as troupe of dancers, so I don't hold that against them at all. We were seated in the box seats along the side of the theatre, which gave us an angled view of only about half of the stage. Because of this, coupled with large sound equipment on the sides of the stage, we only saw half of the performance. The Lyric is a small venue - a great venue, mind you, but small none the less, and perhaps it wasn't really the appropriate venue for this performance. All of that notwithstanding, the performance was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to the National Ballet Theatre of Odessa for bringing their talents to Birmingham!

    Beautiful- Enthralling

The lead dancers are mesmerizing and talented. The Prima Ballerina was not only a stellar dancer but her facial expressions brought this to life!
