Best First Live Show for my Son!!!

by LukieMom on 7/29/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I am so happy I decided to take my son to watch this show. I don't know who enjoyed it more, him or myself. LOL. It was a great experience, well organized, nice effects. It was awesome to hear all the moms saying all the words out loud and realizing that we all get into it with our kids. We loved it and it was the best first live show experience I could've picked for my little one. I would've liked to be able to buy some stuffed dolls though, but they only had t-shirts and cups. I'll save the tickets so he knows that he was there for the first ever Super Why Live Show!!!

Captivating for all Super Why Fans Young & Old

by ladynred9 on 7/29/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We took our 20m old son that adores the show and the live show was no different. He rarely sits on my lap for long. But he sat still and his eyes were glued on the show the whole time. We bought the tickets which included the after party and I would recommend it as well. Our son was afraid of the characters up close but we still got photos with him in our arms. He enjoyed being with all the other kids and playing with the balloons and tents they had all over the party room. He may be too young to remember it, But we have lots of photos and we will always remember his first live performance.

    A Super Night for ALL!

by Grandsue on 7/28/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

It was a very entertaining production for all ages from the special effects, costumes, use of animation and live actors, songs and dancing. Especially entertaining for the intended audience of 2 to 6 year olds! Went to the after party and my grandson loved the baloons and did not have to wait too long for the photo ops. Thanks for the nutritional snacks and water. Wonderful first trip to the theater for little ones!

Mildly entertaining, but TV is probably better

by Person245 on 7/27/12North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Definitely not worth the money, just a few people dancing around in some costumes with a big TV screen in the back. My 2 year old mildly enjoyed it, but maybe older kids would like it better.

Not the best bang for your buck, but kids had fun.

by Anonymous on 7/27/12North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

If you break it all down, the show was really not worth the money ($40/ticket...and that was with a discount). They started 10 mins late, performed for 25 mins, intermission for 25 mins, and performed for 25 more mins. BUT, it's really not about MY opinion because my kids (3 yrs old and 10 month old) enjoyed every bit of it and had fun. Would I see it again? Probably. Just be sure to look for promotional discounts on the tickets. For mechandise for sale, they were very limited. For starters, they did not sell any individual character toys...like the main character Super Why maybe?? I was hoping to buy a Princess Pea or Red Riding Hood toy for my daughter since my son already had a Super Why toy. But, nope...they sold T-shirts, a water cup, poster, and a $12 light-up wand that was poorly built. Even the lady selling it said, be careful with the wand...it's fragile and will break if you swing it around or hit something. Ummm, don't they know kids will be playing with these?? And what's the first thing they will do...swing it around and hit things. Anyway, 1 of 2 wands broke for me. The top star fell off but easily fixable with some glue. Apart from all the negative feelings, we had fun and were glad our kids had fun as well and that's really what matters.

    Ditch the intermission

by Ted9 on 7/27/12North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

The show gave a positive message....one that needs to be reiterated in today's world more and more. That kids can be whatever it is they want to be and they control the power. But, please, reduce the length of intermission after only 20 minutes of performance. People were getting very restless.

    GREAT

by SuperspellingMom on 7/27/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

The show was a great experience for my 7 yo twins but was AWESOME for my 5 yo little one. I think The production was very impressive, and although most of the kids audience were way younger than my kids, they were very excited and happy with the adventure. I would like to have heard the Super Why TV show theme, at least at the end of the show so the audience - kids, mostly- could sing along, it was missing.... I think the price was reasonable.

The show was awesome! My daughter had a blast! Very entertaining and so well done! I will be looking foward to going again whenever it comes back in town. The VIP after party was great too, getting to meet all of the characters made her night!!!!

Very age appropriate for preschool. My daughter (age 2 1/2) is a huge Super Why fan and she was mesmerized. We had a fabulous time, but it didn't have a lot of redeeming value for adults (other than the joy of watching our kids), unlike some shows designed for all audiences. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you know what you're getting into. We did the VIP party pack also so we could meet the characters. It was okay, but probably not worth the extra expense unless your child is really into the characters, especially since you have to pay for everyone (including the adults). The "healthy snacks" were bags with dried apples and veggie sticks they gave out as you left and only to the children. We did it more for the better seats, which I think did make a difference with such a young kid. All in all, though, it was a fun show and the meeting of the characters was well organized.

We enjoyed the show very much! My son was engrossed in the show. I think he was taking it all in. And after it was done he started crying. Because he didn't want to leave the Super Readers.

    Fun but needs some tweaking

by mrspower on 7/26/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

My kids loved this show, but the production itself needs some help. There were costume malfunctions, it was a little too loud, the break was a little too long, and the masks of the characters were poorly done. The songs were fun, the storyline was exciting (loved the aerial dancer), and the kids didn't notice the costume inadequacies. But the 5 year old, who isn't particularly noise-sensitive, and who was totally fine way up front at Yo Gabba Gabba, covered her ears for 80% of the show, and the 2 year old, who LOVES Super Why, got so bored at intermission that she was trying to leave. With some tweaks this show could be much better, but it was still fun for young kids.

    Awesome experience !!

by JacksMomma09 on 7/25/12The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

Super Why! Live was awesome! It far exceeded our expectations and completely thrilled both of my young children. I can't wait for the next kids show at the Orpheum!

Overall, the show was fun but a bit too short. The first part was 30 minutes and then a 30 minute intermission (too much time to keep kids busy) followed by a final 30 minutes for part 2. Afterwards, the cast was very helpful and did well with the kids, even offering to take photos with our cameras. The area at the Orpheum was a bit small to house everyone though. Still, the time my daughter had was priceless. Would I go again? Probably.

My grandson had the time of his life, the lighting up of his eyes, the smiles were Priceless! His mom and I enjoyed the show as well. But intermission was to long for the kids and the after party snacks were very disappointing.Over all it was wonderful,my grandson cried when we had to leave.

    Great show!

by Anonymous on 7/24/12The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

A great show! My almost 3-year-old sat and watched the entire thing (she usually doesn't sit for very long!) The characters were cute and the sound, lighting and other special effects made for a great time!
