About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

  • Awesome Tommy Shaw!

by Jmane on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

We had to endure 2 other bands before we could enjoy the awesomeness that was Styx. Tommy Shaw gave a magnificent performance, exceeded our expectations! James Young was outstanding as well. Start to finale every minute a thrill!

  • Good time and venue

AmFam Ampitheater was great for this. Good sound, easy access in and out, friendly staff, and very clean! I’ll be looking for another experience in the near future.

  • Outstanding event

by Vomz on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

All three groups were great. Don Feldner sounded darn good for being 77 years old. His band played many classic Eagles songs and Gary Cronin’s band played many REO hits. Styx was excellent.

  • Awesome show

The concert was awesome from start to finish. Loved Don Felder, Kevin Cronin and Styx. A++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • The concert was Amazing!!!

by Phalve on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

The venue and parking was a very easy process. With our ticket purchase we were able to get in The Mexican Fiesta that was going on at the same time. Definetly will go to the American FAmily Amphitheater again!

  • Just Rock

by Cyclone 2 on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Great trip down memory lane of concerts and music of High school and before. All the classics and still pretty good voices for being older and such impeccable musicianship! Styx was loud to point of ear plugs needed.

  • Still a great show.

STYX put on a fantastic show. Still sound great and an overall amazing experience.

by Catherine on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

The American Family Ampitheater on the Milwaukee Summerfest grounds has the best sound system I've ever heard in any venue (and I've been to alot of concerts). Simply amazing. The artists were fantastic too! Kudos to the folks controlling the sound board.

  • We Loved the Show. If you love Styx, Don't Hestitate.

by Styx Still Worthy and Maybe More on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Styx has not only maintained their quality of performance, but part of me was feeling that they might ever be better than when we saw them as kids. Particularly the vocals and guitar work was masterful, and added up to something special. I think I even saw Tommy Shaw smile, which made me really happy inside. Let's face it, one of the reasons these bands are still around and playing big venues is that so many of us boomers are still alive and willing to buy the tickets. Our kids also grew up with these bands, so we make a pretty large group of devoted fans. I know time will catch us all someday, but for this night at least, we were all a little bit younger.

  • A bit dissappointed

by 0010 CHECKING on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 3 out of 5

I knew there was only going to be two original members but James Young barely moved, never smiled and acted like he did not want to be there. Songs were good and most of the popular ones were played. I would have liked to see them 40 years ago with Dennis DeYoung. I have great seats, 4th row, maybe I expect too much from 70 year old performers on the last leg of their tour but I can still take them off my bucket list.

  • One of the Best so far!

by Tom from Hartford, WI on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! All 3 bands were phenomenal! From beginning to end, every song had us singing and taking us back to the 70's!

  • Outstanding show

by Jon G on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

All three bands were great: Styx, Kevin Cronin, and Don Felder. Amazing energy from performers who've been on stage since the early 70's. Sound & light show were excellent, and a decent price for the tickets, unlike some shows that have become overpriced. It was especially nice that Styx brought original bassist and founding member (and sadly, ailing) Chuck Panozzo on stage at the end for a few songs, that was classy and extra special.

  • Great Show

by Shotzie on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Great music and great enthusiasm by all the bands. Sound was good and the song selections were outstanding.

  • Styx was great

by polish1princess on 8/27/25American Family Insurance Amphitheater - Summerfest Grounds - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Styx was AMAZING!!! The sound was crisp and clear! Don Feldman was pretty good also. Kevin Cronin was disappointing. The music was loud and I couldn't understand the words in the songs. I went because I wanted to see Styx and it was completely worth worth it. Lawrence does a better Dennis DeYoung then Dennis DeYoung does!

  • Entertaining and Energetic

by Jim C on 8/27/25Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

All 3 bands (Don Felder Band, Kevin Cronin Band and Styx) played non-stop hits and long sets.  The 3 bands played with energy and the music was powerful and the stage effect videos complimented the songs perfectly.  The band members for all the groups engaged with the fans all through the night and they seemed to be enjoying the night as much as the crowd. My gal and I were totally entertained and got into the music with the bands the entire night.  A great experience!

by Phil O on 8/26/25Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre - Tinley ParkRating: 2 out of 5

Amps turned up so LOUD we could hardly recognize the songs, let alone hear the lyrics or even come close to hearing the intricacies of the melodies.

  • STYX CONCERT

by May be too old for loud rock & roll. on 8/26/25Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

I must be getting old because I thought the music was way too loud. I was really looking forward to Styx and the other 2 bands but I just thought the lengthy guitar/drum solos were way too long and loud. The other thing is this…why do people but seat tickets if they are going to stand up during the entire concert. The songs I recognized were amazing. The parking was easy in and out. Our seats were good when I could see the bands. The weather was absolutely beautiful!!! We had a very nice time though.
