About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

  • STYX was awesome

    by NYAnimal on 1/12/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

Great Venue to see a concert, the house was packed and the crowd was awesome. This was our second time to see STYX at Billy Bobs and I would highly recomend it. We also stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in the Stock yards Lots of fun.

  • Styx Are Still Amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Still Rockin after all these years!!!

    by katykaty on 1/11/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

This is twice this year that I have seen Styx in concert. They are amazing and I will continue to see them when they are in the area. I would of given them 5 stars but didnt really care for the venue at Billy Bobs. We stood in general admission area and the sound was pretty muffled not to mention a few drunk women barking the whole time. I saw them at The Verizon Center in Grand Prairie a few months back with Foreigner and Kansas and it was fantastic.

  • Styx Rocked!!!

    by LindsayHamez on 1/11/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

I got my boyfriend tickets to see them for Christmas. I was a little nervous about getting general admission to see them cause I hadn't been to Billy Bob's before. Turns out they were awesome tickets! We were super close and my bf had a blast singing at the top of his lungs along with everyone around us. Great experiences make great gifts!

  • Outstanding Performance

    by 1Nacho on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

Aside from the venue where it occurred, it was an outstanding performance! I had heard them last year in Houston, where I felt their performance was not the greatest! However, Sat. in Ft. Worth, the shingles were coming off the roof! Great job! I will put Styxx on my "To see again list!" Maybe next time there will be more than1 set! Couldn't quite squeeze- in all their great hits in 1 set!

  • A grand illusion

    by txman1963 on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great and being a smaller venue, it was up close and personal. Sound and presentation was excellent !!!

  • Styx, great set list

    by TCnDallas on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

Styx was great as always. The set list was fresh with stuff I never heard live or been a long time. No medley of songs either which I dont care for. Great show and will see again.

  • Styx was great!!!!

Awesome. Sound great live. Would highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Had a blast. Will buy tickets for future events.

  • Styx Rocked - Billy Bob's not so much

    by Selby1 on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 2 out of 5

Loved Styx as usual, but Billy Bob's concert area / stage was really disappointing. The stage is small, the ceiling low and support posts block your view. Band Rocked, location sucked.

  • Styx

    by styxfan4life on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 2 out of 5

I have been going to Styx concerts since 1974 on the south side of Chicago. This was my most disappointing performance. Too many unfamiliar songs to outweigh their hit songs to have made it worth ticket price. Started out very slow. Tommy Shaw rocks, always a good performance from him. I think they were off this show.

  • Styx was outstanding!!!

    by Ree44 on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

I grew up rockin' to Styx but didn't get the chance to see them back in the 80's so when I found out they were coming to Billy Bob's Texas I jumped on it and enjoyed every minute of it!!! Bad to the bone!!! Would most definatley go see them again!!!!!

  • Great Show, so-so at best venue

    by DBGuerrero23 on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Billy Bob's is a huge honky tonk - cheap tickets - and no smoking in concert area (despite whine of some non smoker in reviews, if u can't take a puff of any type of smoke from a distance DON'T GO TO ANY CONCERTS. But it is mediocre at best sound and tables and chairs etc. Styx - great, suberb set except no Pieces of Eight (had heard all of Grand Illusion and all of Pieces of Eight would be played, this is why I picked THIS tour despite Billy Bob's venue - sadly was not true did at least play most or all of The Grand Illusion, played Crystal Ball, played much of pieces, none of Kilroy so would have loved to hear Pieces of Eight especially and anything off of Kilroy such as Mr. Roboto or Haven't we Been Here Before?

  • Reliving the 80s with STYX!!!

    by RandallM on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Seeing the band STYX at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth Texas was great. The band did a great job and it was fun hearing their old songs again. It was a difficult hearing the sound systems with Tommy Shaw or other members would talk. But the sound was OK when they sang. I definately would go again!!!

  • Styx was Stupendous!!!

    by 4ft9 on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Styx put on an excellant show. Venue seats were not very good. Lots of post obstructions along with large soundboard obstruction.

  • STYX Rocked Cowtown

    by GuyNamedBill on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

STYX continues to be a pillar of American Rock in my eyes/ears because they so much have their act together. After attending several of their performances throughout my life, the shows are consistent and personable. The Billy Bob's Texas croud was a bit slow to come around but by mid-set most of the folks that were in my area were in the moment with the band. I will definitely be choosing to attend the next appearance.

  • Styx @ Billy Bobs

    by Anonymous on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Outstanding! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I could not see the complete stage, there was a pole in the way. Had get up to see Gowan playing the keyboards or could not see Tommy or Chuck when they went to that side of the stage. Also could not here the performers when they were talking to audience and sometimes singing, the background noise from the bar/general admission area was louder than the band.

  • by Anonymous on 1/10/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

great concert, but acoustics could have been better

  • Styx was AWESOME
