About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

  • Styx has sucked ever since Dennis was replaced

by Gowansucks on 8/7/11Jones Beach - Jones BeachRating: 1 out of 5

This was absolutely the worst show I had ever seen, and I can't believe Styx still tours to this day with such a horrible set list. They didn't even play "The Best of Times" or "Mr. Robato", and I don't care what the reasons were because their shows are unforgivable for steeling the fans money for that. They need to kick out that dumb no talent Canadian, bring back Dennis, and reorganize that horrible set.

  • Great Show

Cool to hear the songs again, memories! Had a good time

  • Styx @ Billy Bob's

    by Poole on 7/26/11Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 4 out of 5

Great show but please be careful when picking seats...you could be looking at a column moreso than the performing band!

  • Great show!

by Anonymous on 6/17/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Styx perform several times in a variety of venues. They never disappoint me. This particular venue was a bit more intimate than most. It was nice to have the big screen for the close-up shots and the sound mix was good. Unfortunately, I lost too much money in the slot machines after the show.

Styx Rocks!! It was a fantastic show! Tell them to come to Arnolds Park this summer!!!

  • Styx was a great time!

    by Cableguy50 on 6/3/11Jackpot Junction Casino - MortonRating: 4 out of 5

It's always fun to step back into the 70's and 80's, and see how the fan base (our peers) have aged. Bands like Styx let us relive our past for a couple of hours. The concert could have been a little longer. They played a good share of their hits with the biggest exceptions being Babe, and Mr Roboto (which I personally didn't miss). The band members all really got into the show and seemed to be having a lot of fun. The sound was good and the vocals sounded like the originals on most songs.

I really enjoyed the concert. Styx was so much fun in concert. However i thought the concert was too short. It started at 8pm and we were all out of there by 9:40... I know the tickets were cheaper.. but who wants to drive out for a concert for just a hour and a half show. Also i think they should have played more of their old Hit songs.. like Mr Roboto they didnt even play and everyone wanted them too :(

  • Awsome

  • Always a fantastic show, terrible venue

by natskis88 on 5/30/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 4 out of 5

Styx is a fantastic group to listen to and to watch. Their music transcends generations and whether this is your first or your tenth Styx show, you are in for a treat and every show is different. They are an incredibly entertaining group to watch. Lawrence, the pianist, will dance it out during a face-melting guitar solo, and the other members of the band will interact with each other during their performance. They are also one of those bands that stays in tune every single time. You will never say, "I love their cd, but they are terrible live" to this band. However, hosting the band in the middle-of-nowhere location was not ideal. IN order to get to the venue, ticketholders were required to travel many county roads in order to get to the casino. The venue was also small, unimpressive, and smelled like smoke. That being said, fans were all enthusiastic, and Styx put on yet another incredible performance.

Tommy had a sore throat so he could not sing. Still enjoyed the show.

by nayday on 5/30/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 5 out of 5

Styx put on a great show, played 4 songs from Grand Illusion which was awesome. Sounded great, high energy and would highly recommend

  • by Anonymous on 5/30/11Sanford Center - BemidjiRating: 5 out of 5

Show was fantastic! Styx is awesome live! Concession stands closed way to early. I can understand that they might stop serving beer and alcohol, but a person couldn't even buy a pop or water after 9:00.

  • Styx was awesome!

    by juju7575 on 5/30/11Sanford Center - BemidjiRating: 5 out of 5

They were great! Fun time had by all! They were better than most newer bands!

  • by Anonymous on 5/30/11Sanford Center - BemidjiRating: 5 out of 5

AWESOME concert! I assumed taking pictures wasn't allowed, so I didn't bring my camera. Many people around us were taking pictures and video.

  • STYX still Rocks!

by bizefingers on 5/30/11Sanford Center - BemidjiRating: 5 out of 5

Styx still has what it takes to put on a great show. I saw them 30 years ago in Seattle, and just got to share this experience with my own teenage children. They sound terrific and have a great stage presence. I never, in a million years, expected to be able to share a moment like this with my kids!

  • Styx

by sweetheart27 on 5/30/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 5 out of 5

Me and my husband first saw Styx when we were in are teens. And justed loved them. So when we know they are in the area we go and see them. The concert at Jackpot was awsome. Are seats were also good. I think they just keep getting better and better.

  • Amazing Show

by JonathanB on 5/30/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 5 out of 5

Styx put on an AMAZING show! We had seats in the center of the second section back from the stage in the front row. Sound quality was amazing and everything went smoothly in the show. Was very impressed with the way all the band members interacted with the crowd and amongst themselves. You could really feel the energy the band put out there in a positive way. Definitely a show to see!

  • Too short!

by 2010sdfan on 5/30/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 4 out of 5

Awesome show. My only complaint is that it was too short. We were actually considering following the band to their next concerts in Minnesota.

  • by Anonymous on 5/29/11Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - MortonRating: 4 out of 5

Very good. Lively. They played over 90 minutes without taking a break.
