Stevie was amazing (5 stars), venue (2 stars)
by LOVEJOY1908 on 9/2/18The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborMy husband has seen Stevie more than twenty times. This is my second time seeing him in concert. It was an unforgettable night. I originally thought the concert would be cancelled because The Queen's funeral was the following day. But, the show still went on. It was truly a dance party! I enjoyed the live photo sharing during the show. And, the tribute to Aretha. Frederic Yonnett and Dave Chappelle joined Stevie on stage and it was amazing. Stevie convinced Dave to free style. The Aretha tribute and several songs gave me chills. Easily one of the best shows we have attended. So, I don't plan on returning to the MGM for a concert. We waited in an extremely long line only to be directed upstairs where another long line waited. This one had two security scanners. If you had a bag, you had to wait in the long line. The other line had very few folks using it. If your boyfriend looked like a weight lifter and you walked through the line, the security guard wouldn't say anything. Folks were getting upset with the haphazard way he was enforcing the rule. As for those of us in the bag line, after you went through the metal detector and had your bag checked, you were then subject to a hand wand. But they only had one wand. If you were in the other line, you missed out on this special treatment. It was unorganized. And, for as much as those tickets costs, I don't expect 40 minutes of waiting in lines.
