Considering the astonishing gifts he has already given us through his music, do we even have the right to expect any more from Stevie Wonder? Maybe, maybe not, but the truth is the artist whose first No. 1 hit came five decades ago with "Fingertips" is in the midst of a creative explosion akin with his greatest years in the 1970's. For his first studio recordings in eight years, Wonder, the rare touring act who can be called genius without qualification, has produced not one but two records, both as distinct in their origin as they are in their intention. To fulfill a promise made to his mother who passed away in 2006, Wonder is making he first foray into gospel music; he's also making an additional record that reflects not only his growing interest in hip-hop but also personal heartbreak stemming from among other things his recent divorce.
But none of this should indicate that the Motown legend is turning his back on his monumental legacy. The owner of over 50 top 40 singles has recently taken to thrilling ticket buyers by playing the entirety of his 1976 diamond selling classic Songs in the Key of Life live in concert. It is a rare that in our lifetime a legend of Stevie Wonder's stature could find equal inspiration reaching into the future as well as the past. It is rarer still that he is able to share his joyous visions in all their power with anyone fortunate enough to catch this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer on tour.
I absolutely love and adore Stevie Wonder and would love to one day see him in concert.
Would love a concert. I literally check weekly to see if there’s one. I’m such a huge fan and we share the same birthday. He’s my favorite artist.
Although I’m a huge fan, I’ve never had the pleasure of attending a Steve Wonder concert. Please go on your Stevie, I’d love to experience your music live. Thank you.
I would love to know Mr. Stevie's Concert schedule. My son is a true fan but we never see or hear about a concert to after it happens and we see the posts. There should be a Museum in Mr. Stevie Wonder's Honors!!! My son should be one of the first to visit because he's learned a lot from studying him and his music. He has helped my son grow more in music than he'll ever know, Thank You!!
I've seen Stevie so many times and I still haven't had enough!! Next time he comes Im taking my millennial sons. Everyone needs to experience a Stevie concert!! I pray Stevie gives us another concert soon in DC!! We lovd you Stevie!
Fabulous show -- It was so terrific I'm hoping he adds another tour. I've been to many Stevie concerts and this was his best yet. I'd even travel to see Stevie's song party. It was fun going to MGM too -- nice place to see a concert.
The concert was by far one of the best I've been to in my lifetime! Dave Chapelle even showed up. Don't hesitate on this one, go see Stevie!
Stevie is an Awesome Performer and has great Showmanship! Even though Aretha's funeral was the very next day, he never rushed his performance or made us feel like he had to go. He performed for over 3 hours! We truly had fun and an amazing time! He's still got it! Go Stevie!
WOW! What a fantastic show! Glad I was off the next day because he was on stage for ~3 hours and 15 minutes! And it was so worth it! He did a variety of songs, his and others, and gave his back up musicians and singers some shine. Very talented folks. Most importantly, he played my favorite song, "As", and all of it! I could see him once a week....
The Stevie Wonder concert was absolutely one of the best concerts ever. I enjoyed it to the upmost. He is my favorite and he did not disappoint! I rate this concert, not just the venue, 5 out of 5!
AWESOME show!! Dave Chappelle showing up and participating in Stevie's show was a REAL bonus!
This was one of the best concerts ive ever attended. We got there right as the legend Stevie Wonder was walking on stage. He was jammin classics the whole night which was incredible and to top it off Dave Chappelle come thru and joined him. It was strange but cool to see Stevie and a drunk Dave jammin together. Also the tribute to Aretha was dope too. Had floor seats. Only thing is i didnt get a credential in time to meet Stevie backstage but will do so next time. Overall i recommend everybody to check him out at least once. Amazing experience! Cheers!
The "Stevie Wonder" Concert was AWESOME!! This was my first time seeing him and I would definitely go to see him again.
Great concert and venue. Loved seeing a legend in action.
Stevie always puts on a stellar performance!!! His dedication to Aretha was moving and one of the best parts of the show.
Stevie was pure Stevie for 3 hours! Special appearances by Dave Chappele and Fred Yonick were cherries on top!
This concert was far too expensive. The 1-hr DJ show was too long, 30 min would have been enough. It was way too warm in top rows. There were too many non-Stevie songs. We enjoyed the nod to Michael Jackson & Chuck Brown but went on too long. We enjoyed tribute to Aretha & John McCain. Really liked free parking and easy exit. The sound & video quality were very good. We just wish he played some of his more popular songs.
I could not have ask of a better show from Stevie. It was truly once in a lifetime experience!!!
Stevie Wonder was simply incredible! The concert was almost 4 hours and he sang all the favorites. We saw him on 8/30 and he was in Detroit the next day for Arethas funeral. He dedicated the concert to her and it was worth every cent. See the legends while they are with us!
I so enjoyed seeing Stevie Wonder at MGM. My boyfriend took me and saw Stevie for the first time. Very memorable!
