  • Wonderful Performer

    by Jean60 on 10/5/15Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Tyrell was an amazing singer and performer. He was not only able to sing a variety of songs ranging from the 1940's to 1990's but had a fantastic band of musicians backing him up. I enjoyed his stories about all of the famous musicians that he has worked with throughout his career. The only complaint I have is that the show was too short! (about 1 and a half hours without an intermission) However, well worth seeing!

Steve Tyrell's concert was SO enjoyable - laid back and thoroughly wonderful!

  • Superb vocals, excellent music - a must-see!

I've loved Steve Tyrell since I heard him in the "Father of the Bride" movies. I've bought each of his albums and always wished I could see him at the Carlyle in NYC but it's too expensive. So I jumped at the opportunity to see him in Alexandria, and it was the best-spent money! He sounded even better live than on CD and was very comfortable in front of the crowd (although I was probably the only person who was less than 60 years old who wasn't wait staff). He was gracious enough to take photos and sign CD's following the concert. Definitely a must-see!

Steve said that Friday night was the 8th or 9th time he has appeared at the Birchmere. We can recall missing just one of his shows and that was in 2005 when were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. He is a terrific performer and we will be there anytime he appears at the Birchmere.

  • Steve Tyrell is excellent!

This is our 3rd visit to see Steve Tyrell at the Birchmere. We love the intimate setting and Steve Tyrell is a great entertainer.

  • His Sammy Cohn songs were fantastic

Steve Tyrell is really terrific. I have heard him before and I highly recommend him. Danielle, the first act was horrible. So loud and out of tune that I had a head ache. The food is really average.

Loved the concert. The venue did not make it clear what a gold ticket means. I did not realize I had to get there early in order to secure a table

  • Steve Tyrell gives a remarkable performance.

This is a new show from last year in that he presents his new offerings featuring the songs of Sammy Cahn. I can't say enough how wonderful this show was, a true entertainer, bringing his best to give enjoyment to those of us that love the great American Songbook. He capped the evening off with an ovation singing "The Way You Look Tonight". A grand time was had by all. Thank you, Mr. Tyrell.

    by TC09 on 5/7/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Tyrell is a superb entertainer, and featured his new cover of the songs of Sammy Cahn. This is a great collection of tunes, and Steve does a fabulous rendition. Don't miss the opportunity to see him on this swing through the east coast!

  • Steve Tyrell-A musician's musician

    by JMD4 on 5/7/13Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Tyrell is a musician's musician. He clearly loves and respects the music of the American Songbook. His latest performance at the Birchmere highlighted the songs of Sammy Cahn (his new CD) and included anecdotes about the songwriter and how the songs came about. This look behind the scenes was great fun. Tyrell is very talented as are the musicians he plays with. His interpretations are personal, feeling, and intimate. They will touch your heart. If you want a memorable, romantic night out, go see Steve Tyrell. You'll be glad you did.

  • Steve Tyrell is a consummate entertainer!

Steve Tyrell has been one of my favorite performers for over fifteen years. He includes something for everyone in his act and is not "stingy" in pleasing all. I am a fan of the "Great American Songbook," and consider Steve one of the best interpretors of this genre. But, his renditions of the music of the rhythm and blues era is on the mone as well. During his show, he will relate personal stories of the history of the music he is performing and includes the audience in his show. He is approachable and always includes the audience in his show. His show is a "don't miss."

  • Great Overall performance

Steve has an incredible voice and sound, and his selection from the Great American Songbook was fantastic. I will definitely go back and see him again.

  • Very personable performer

    by jdowney3 on 6/11/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Mr. Tyrell is somewhat of a throwback to the rat pack time. He did a really nice night club-type show at the Birchmere, something a little different from the usual type of show at that venue. He was very engaging, full of personality, and performed many time-honored classics.

  • Steve Tyrell

by Standardgirl on 6/11/12Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Tyrell never ceases to amaze me. His voice is as strong and enchanting as the first concert 7 years ago. The background stories about the songs, songwriters and singers make Steve stand far above other performers. I do wish though Keswick would ask unruly patrons and those using flash photography to leave.
