  • Steve Earle, The Dukes, The Mastersons- Masterful!

by Wockomo on 6/13/18Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Steve Earle, both solo, with The Dukes, and with The Mastersons, quite a few times now. Sunday night's performance - from the second the lights dimmed when The Mastersons took the stage to warm the crowd up -to the end of the evening, when the house lights came back on, my wife and I were just - in awe. I thought that maybe some of it had to do with the fact that I was actually sitting in a club where I first sat as a college idiot in the late 70's wondering why the soles of my shoes were sticking to the floor, then looking over to see, for the first time, the woman that I later married and had our three kids with - but I don't think that was it. I believe it was because the performance, the set list, and the stories that Steve Earle shared, made me feel so alive, so happy and thankful, that I once again, was able to witness one of the top singer/songwriters of my time do his thing. Steve Earle and I are about the same age now. I am familiar with some of the trials and tribulations he overcame during his "outlaw" life - some of them similar to the ones my family growing up faced. However, this artist and band just keeps getting better and better. This show, "Copperhead Road" is a "must-see" and if you're not out of your seat dancing, smiling, and maybe at times, trying to hide a tear or two, than check your pulse because you must already be dead. Way to go Steve Earle and the gang!

  • Great show until politics brought into show

by Deplorable999 on 5/24/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 4 out of 5

I go to concerts to hear music NOT politics! Please just play your music, leave your politics at home.

  • by Anonymous on 5/22/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 1 out of 5

The only good thing I can say about this show is that he sounded great. If you want to go hear a political rant, then this show is for you. If you’re going to hear actual music, save your money and just listen to his CDs. I will NEVER waste my hard earned money on him again. If he were to come for free, then fine. But I will never buy anything of his. Not worth it.

  • Awesome show and venue

by Anonymous on 5/22/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome, perfect, fun. The Masterson’s were excellent and combined with Steve Earl and his Dukes ,the show rocked.

  • Awesome show but.......

by THOMTHOD on 5/22/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I was quite excited to go see Steve Earle and the Dukes the show opened up with the mastersons they were awesome. Steve Earle came out and did the whole album of Copperhead Road his band was very diverse and extremely talented musicians. However I don't care who they artist is I don't care what their politics are but I really don't care to hear their politics while I'm trying to be entertained. Some years ago I saw Santana and he was griping about Barack Obama. Bottom line I really don't care again entertain me with your music and that's all I need I really don't need to hear how you don't like this politician or that politician.

The event was held in a Ballroom instead of theater or auditorium. Was regular chair seating that got uncomfortable as concert went on. Steve Earle and Dukes are great entertainers. This was my first time to see them in person. The music was great, but, way too loud. It overpowered the vocals. We could barely hear the words. This was my wife's first exposure to Steve Earle. She was impressed by the professional musicians, but, very disappointed that we could not hear the vocals.

  • Steve Earl Was Awesome!!!!!!

by CCNT on 5/21/18Golden Nugget - Biloxi - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was great and the sound was perfect. The show was so good and I was so impressed. We were on the seventh row and could see everything. Steve Earl sounded just like he did 30 years ago and did not disappoint. I totally enjoyed the night. So glad I went!!!!!

  • Steve Earl @ the Golden Nugget

by Biloxiboy on 5/21/18Golden Nugget - Biloxi - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert. Earl played enough of his well known classics to keep the audience engaged as well as stories of how the songs/albums were developed. His new songs were also just as great. He has a very talented band, each person played multiple instruments showcasing their talents. I would definitely see them again!

  • Don’t miss!

by Dudescout on 5/21/18Golden Nugget - Biloxi - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

What a treat. An incredible talent, Steve Earl and the Dukes in a small venue, with great sound and affordable ticket prices. Almost a lost part of our lives. Back to the music, high energy, Steve Earl and band rocked for 90minutes, stopping only to change instruments. Old school band that knows their business. Thanks for a great evening..

  • Outstanding show!

Steve Earle and the Dukes played a terrific set, were in good, relaxed mood. Steve very gracious in meeting fans after.

  • Outstanding Show

by LeapinLemur on 5/15/18The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Earle always puts on a fabulous show, but this may have been the best one yet. The Dukes were in top form and rocked the house. The Mastersons did a brief warm up set before the main performance. During both performances, Elininor’s fiddle playing and vocals were beyond compare. Chris Masterson’s guitar was like the classic rock gods of the 60s and 70s. The first segment of the show was great as Steve told background stories about the recording of his classic, Copperhead Road. The second segment showcased some of the jewels from Steve Earle’s extensive catalogue of material. It was great to hear Steve tell stories and speak passionately about his political beliefs.

  • Steve Earle can bring it

by LingLing06 on 5/12/18U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Steve at the Bijou back late last year, and he was okay at that time. This time, though, he was brought his "A" game.. He can rock with the best of the them, but he also writes and sings one helluva love song and ballads. I particularly like the way he played the whole Copperhead Road album and then played a lot of the "B" sides that I had not heard in forever. In between songs, he reminisced out loud about where he was living and the thoughts going through his head at the time. Doing that gave more poignancy to his songs. Very tight band backing him up.

  • Steve Earle and the Dukes were on the money

by Cleo10914 on 5/12/18U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen Steve Earle and the Dukes in concert after having been a fan since Copperhead Rd came out. I damn sure want to see them again, one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.

  • worst sound I've heard from a performer....

by ballsdeep on 5/12/18U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 3 out of 5

and I will NEVER waste money on a Steve Earle show again. in short, I walked out after 8 songs. WHY? because bright, white staitc was coming out of the PA every time Steve sang a vocal over "conversation level". the KICKER was that Steve *acknowledged it from the stage*, and then his crew ~~~messed with his guitar pedals~~~, when it was HIS VOCALS THAT WERE DISTORTING. the staff at the Bijou tentatively agreed to refund my money, we will see if that actually happens.... SHAME ON YOU Mr. Earle....shame on you. and after doing some online investigating, I found that this was a PATTERN with Steve's soundman.

  • The Hardcore Trubadour Killed It

by Bulms on 4/17/18State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Copperhead Road in sequence following 2 new songs and then a bunch of classics, was the best concert I have ever been to. Now I do put Mr Earle up on a pedestal because his songs have always spoke to me, but I enjoyed it so much and I am so happy to have finally caught a show after being a fan for 20 years! Thank you!

  • Steve Earle, even better the second time!

by Anonymous on 4/17/18State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Saw him in 2013 with the Mastersons and it was really good. I purposely refrained from listening to the Copperhead Road album prior to this show. Hearing many of these songs for the first time in years played live by Steve and his terrific band brought back so many memories. I totally forgot how good all of his songs were. Great show!

  • Finally got to see a Steve Earle show

by Anonymous on 4/17/18State Theatre - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

What a great show. Steve Earle and the Dukes were on fire doing the entire Copperhead Road album plus many songs from his newest album. Only problem was the sound guy must have been asleep. In many instances Steve's voice was lost among the instruments. If you didn't know the words to the song you were lost. Plus I have seen a number of performers at the State Theater not the best acoustics in town by far.

  • Steve Earle / The Mastersons were amazing!

by KGandJG on 4/17/18State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue and great sound for Steve Earle and The Mastersons. The show was great!

  • Steve Earle put on an Amazing Show in Portland

by tecrunner on 4/17/18State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

All of Copperhead Road, a few from the new album, and a variety of other great songs from his amazing career. Band was HOT all night, 2 hour set of wonderful energy. Only criticism to offer was that from our seats close to the stage, the sound was not well balanced, and the crew struggled throughout the set with the soundboard to fix it. Catch this tour if you can, not to be missed!

  • Freaking Awesome

What a show they put on. The Masterson's opened and were incredible. Steve was as entertaining as ever!
