Judy Collins & Stephen Stills
by Plutsk on 6/12/18Meadow Brook Amphitheatre - Rochester HillsRating: 5 out of 5For people of my generation, who came up during the Sixties, this was a deeply satisfying concert. Judy Collins still sings like an angel and Stephen Stills is still a great guitarist. To hear Collins sing “Who Knows Where the Time Goes,” “Clouds,” “Both Sides Now,” and other iconic songs was wonderful. Her a capella solo on the Dreamers was beautiful and wrenching. They did memorable tributes to both Tom Petty (“I Won’t Back Down”) and Leonard Cohen (“Everybody Knows”). The weak point was Stills’ singing, which was often marginal and occasionally bad, but hearing his monster duet with the bass player more than compensated for that. A great evening!
